Guest Designer Samantha~ Celebrate Hand Stamped Sunflower Card!

Hello, hello. Samantha here with a clean, simple, elegant card to share with you today.
Sometimes I like to leave stamped images uncolored. The black and white can create a striking look and highlight a stamp in ways that coloring it cannot; especially when the stamp is one as highly detailed as those from Blank Page Muse.

Today's card features a background created with single stamp. Left uncolored it is a bold and yet soft look as the flowers peek through an ethereal layer of vellum.

For this card you will need the following:

Sunflower Blossom Rubber Stamp by Pam Bray Designs

A piece of white cardstock cut to 5.5" x 4"

A piece of vellum cut to 6.5" x 3.5"

A black, A2 sized card base

A simple word die

Gems or sequins

To begin you will stamp the Sunflower to your white cardstock three times, leaving it uncolored.

Score your vellum at .5" and 6" along the 6.5" side. Fold and adhere one .5" fold against one end of your card panel. Leave the other end unattached.

Glue your die cut to the front of the vellum as well as your gems or sequins.

Lift the vellum, apply adhesive behind the die cut and embellishments, and attach the other .5" fold to the other end of the panel.

Adhere the card front to your card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my card. I hope you have the best day and I am very excited to see what you will be inspired to create.

Until next time,
Samantha

Guest Designer, Samantha! CAS Card in blues with Curls & Flourishes!

Hello, hello! Samantha Ziegenfuss here.

I'm thrilled to be back on the blog as a guest designer today!
I've been drifting over to the more clean and simple side of crafting lately and that is what inspired this card.

To begin you will mask off an inch and a half along both the top and bottom of an A2 sized card panel. Go in with your inks and do a simple blend using the lightest color in the center and darker colors as you move toward the edges.

Use the Fancy Curls and Flowers Flourish Art Rubber Stamp by Terri Sproul and black ink to stamp across the ink blended panel. Rotate and shift the stamp each time you stamp it to ensure you get a varied appearance.

Press a clear embossing ink pad over your stamped and ink blended area and heat set it with clear embossing powder. This adds a cool look of shine and dimension.

After you cut the strip out layer it onto a piece of wood grain patterned paper and adhere it to the front of a white A2 sized card base.

Next use the Everything is Going to Be Alright Word Phrase Rubber Stamp and, with black pigment ink, stamp it below the colorful strip and to the left. Heat set it with clear embossing powder.

To tie everything together add a few flat backed pearls.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by the blog and check out my card. Make sure you're subscribed so you won't miss any of the amazing Blank Page Muse posts.

Until next time,
Samantha Ziegenfuss

Celebrate Dictionary Day with Blank Page Muse

Hello!  Susie on the blog and today we are celebrating Dictionary Day!

I am kind of a word nerd and will admit to flipping through the dictionary to find new and interesting words.  Who knew there was a day to celebrate that?! When I saw the Creativity Definition stamp from Blank Page Muse I had to have it!   Since today is Dictionary Day, I decided to combine my stack of gel prints with the definition stamp to create more ATCs for my CAS card stash.

Time to play...

Supplies:
Creativity Definition Word Phrase Rubber Stamp by Terri Sproul
Just Us Girls Line Figure Art Rubber Stamp Sheet by Terry Sproul
Background Grunge Art Rubber Stamp Sheet by Pam Bray
Gel prints for backgrounds
Archival Ink - Black, Aquamarine
Cardstock

Directions:
Cut gel print paper to 3.5" x 2.5" and stamp with Creativity definition in black ink.

Stamp female figure with black ink.

Stamp Background Grunge elements as desired.

Optional:  Stamp Background Grunge elements with alternate colors before adding definition and figure images.

Repeat to create additional gel print ATCs.

Mat ATCs with white cardstock and mount on black cardstock to create CAS cards.

I have to say, the Background Grunge stamps were great for adding little elements that balanced the designs and the Just Us Girls Line Figures are perfect for a little abstract playtime. I love making these ATCs because it is a fun and practical way to use up my creative experiments!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!

The Joy of Christmas card

Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas.  I wanted to show you one of the Christmas cards I created this year.  Although Christmas is over, you can use this technique year round.
You don't need a ton of stamps to create a beautiful card.  This lovely  card uses just one stamp.
Blank Page Muse Products used:
Holly and Branches Stamp

Other Products Used:
Distress Markers
Distress Ink- Pumice Stone
Emerald Creek Embossing Powder in Charred Gold
Tim Holtz Holiday Words Script Die and Funky Festive
Chipboard Doily Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts
Stamp Platform
Circle Punch
Ribbon
Cardstock
Adhesive

Start by trimming your card to the size you want it to be or use a precut card.
Mount your stamp to your stamp platform.  Color the stamp using various markers.

Don't be afraid to layer your colors.  The leaves will all turn out just a tad different and add a more realistic feel to your card.  If the marker dries as you are coloring just breathe on the stamp and it will rehydrate the ink.

Cover the entire piece of the card.  Once the holly is all stamped cover the entire card with a bit of Pumice Stone Distress Ink to age it.

Mount the base to the card.  Add a bit of ribbon.
Punch a circle out and color it using a bit of Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  Use the outer ring of the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Doily and emboss it.  Attach the doily to the circle.  Attach the circle to the card.
Use the Tim Holtz Script to die cut the word "joy" and adhere it to the center of the circle.
Add some holly cut from the Festive Funky die set to finish off the corner.

This will be my final monthly post for Blank Page Muse.  I have so enjoyed my time with the team over the past year.  I absolutely love the product, so this will not be the last you see of me!
Have a wonderful New Year,

Merry & Bright Card

Hello BPM Fans,

It's Karen here.   I hope you are enjoying a festive holiday season. Here is my quick card to inspire you and keep us in the Christmas spirit.  This is my non-traditional tree decorated with Christmas lights.  It is a very quick make and can be easily put together for that last minute unexpected guest, forgotten relative, or produced assembly line style for a long list of family and friends.  Here we go!

BPM Stamps:

Other Supplies:
  • black ink pad
  • clear mounting block
  • permanent markers
  • watercolor paints
  • black cardstock
  • vellum
  • clear gloss dimensional paint
  • card base (5x5")
Directions:
1. Stamp the bare tree with black ink onto white cardstock.

2. Use permanent markers to draw a numerous light bulbs in different colors to cover the tree.  (TIP: For a more realistic look, make sure to vary the angle of each light bulb.)

3. Next, use watercolor paint to add a subtle glow around each bulb.

4. To create dimension for each light bulb, apply clear gloss dimensional paint just over the bulb (TIP: only apply it over the bulb made with permanent marker). This will give each bulb a raised appearance with a glass like finish.  Set aside to dry.

5. Matte the bulb covered tree with black cardstock. Use black ink to stamp the sentiment onto a strip of vellum and then lay the strip over the lower part of the tree trunk.  Gently wrap the overhanging strips of vellum around the edge of the stamped tree and adhere them to the back side. Adhere the finished tree to the center of a red glitter 5x5" card base.
