Guest Designer Tracy Ware~Lotus Flower Card

Hello Blank Page Muse fans!  Tracy here popping in for the February challenge, which is to use multiple Blank Page Muse stamps.  I tend to always gravitate to flowers and leaves regardless of the company, and I’m staying true to myself with this card too.  Today, I’ll be sharing a card using the Lotus Flower on Stem with Small Dragonfly Art, and a few stamps from the Dandelion Wishes with Butterflies Art set.

I began this card by creating a pale, smooshed background using Distress Inks.  When that was dry, I added a little bit of splatter using watered down black gouache.  I adhered my inked background to a black panel for some contrast.

I stamped the Lotus Flower twice with dye ink and colored the images with Copic markers.  This stamp has a small dragonfly with it, but I only wanted the flowers, so I fussy cut those out.  The panel still needed some interest in my opinion, so I fiddled around with different things and ended up deciding on a black, stitched frame.

I adhered my black frame to my panel using foam tape for dimension.  I stamped the Creativity stamp, and a small butterfly from the Dandelion Wishes with Butterflies Art set directly on my inked background using dye ink again.

I arranged the Lotus Flowers on my panel to figure out my placement, and then adhered those to my panel with foam tape as well. I added some leaf details to the card using liquid glue and tucking those underneath the flowers.

I colored my second butterfly using Copic markers and a pink, glitter gel pen for something sparkly.  Unfortunately, I was unable to capture that sparkle in my pictures.  I adhered that butterfly using foam tape as well so that it overlaps the frame just a bit.

I really like how this card turned out!  This would be a pretty card with a pale pink or yellow background too.  Have you used this Lotus Flower stamp before?  Let me know how you used it, and leave me a comment.  Thanks for joining me today on the Blank Page Muse Blog.  Head over to the Blank Page Muse Instagram account for even more inspiration.  You can also find me on Instagram here.  Stop by and say hi!

Celebrate Dictionary Day with Blank Page Muse

Hello!  Susie on the blog and today we are celebrating Dictionary Day!

I am kind of a word nerd and will admit to flipping through the dictionary to find new and interesting words.  Who knew there was a day to celebrate that?! When I saw the Creativity Definition stamp from Blank Page Muse I had to have it!   Since today is Dictionary Day, I decided to combine my stack of gel prints with the definition stamp to create more ATCs for my CAS card stash.

Time to play...

Supplies:
Creativity Definition Word Phrase Rubber Stamp by Terri Sproul
Just Us Girls Line Figure Art Rubber Stamp Sheet by Terry Sproul
Background Grunge Art Rubber Stamp Sheet by Pam Bray
Gel prints for backgrounds
Archival Ink - Black, Aquamarine
Cardstock

Directions:
Cut gel print paper to 3.5" x 2.5" and stamp with Creativity definition in black ink.

Stamp female figure with black ink.

Stamp Background Grunge elements as desired.

Optional:  Stamp Background Grunge elements with alternate colors before adding definition and figure images.

Repeat to create additional gel print ATCs.

Mat ATCs with white cardstock and mount on black cardstock to create CAS cards.

I have to say, the Background Grunge stamps were great for adding little elements that balanced the designs and the Just Us Girls Line Figures are perfect for a little abstract playtime. I love making these ATCs because it is a fun and practical way to use up my creative experiments!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!

Inspiring Creativity Mixed Media Art Journal Pages

Hello all

I am back with a quick idea using the one of the new stamps released this month. This gorgeous background stamp is called Dare to Dream and i also used the Scribble Daisy Background stamp both of these are available in May's releases.

Paint the pages with gesso to stop the paint bleeding through to the page.
Paint the pages with a pale yellow acrylic Then allow to slightly dry before adding a light orange acrylic paint over the top.
Blend the colours a little before drying off fully.

Stamp the Scribble Daisy Collage Background stamp over the pages in embossing ink.

The background does not have to come out perfect and it adds to the grungy look.

Sprinkle on orange embossing powder and once it has melted, allow to fully set before adding the Dare to Dream stamp.

Colour in sections with watercolour paints and once dry, take the Creativity word stamp and randomly stamp bits of it onto the pages. Finish off the page by adding a few sentiments.

Thank you for visiting
