Fall is Divine

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today.

Today I am using some amazing products from I Brake for Stamps.

I Brake for Stamps:  Oh Bountiful Season

Stamp the phrase on white cardstock, ink the edges and add to brown cardstock.
Place brads in opposite corners.

Create a card from brown cardstock and add a layer of orange.
Wrap twine around the card, then add the stamped panel on top, slipping several leaves in the upper corner.

Stamp the phrase again on white cardstock and randomly add assorted colors of ink.
Tear the panel and adhere to a panel of kraft cardstock, also torn.
Create the card and wrap with twine.
Add the stamped panel on top with foam adhesives for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by.

Steph

Running Horses & Cactus Silhouette at Sunrise

 Horses are beautiful animals.

Horses running free are majestic!

This silhouette of the horses running in the desert against the setting sun is MAGNIFICENT!!

On this card I wanted to create a sunrise.  The horses running with the sunrise behind them reminds me of the OLD WEST.

I Brake for Stamps used:
Horses and Cactus Silhouette
Happy Birthday Sentiment

Stencil from Blank Page Muse
TCW554 Stencil Butterfly Collage - 6x6

Other supplies:

Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks
Squeezed Lemonade
Festive Berries
Spiced Marmalade
Scorched Timber
Blending brushes
White Cardstock
Card base
Water in Spray bottle
Staz-on Black Ink
Stamp Platform
Paper towel
Heat tool
Parchment Paper
Gems

To create the sunrise I blended my Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Festive Berries and Spiced Marmalade on white cardstock with blending brushes or any blending tool. I started with the Squeezed Lemonade working toward the darker Festive Berries.

Using a stamping platform and Staz-on Ink I stamped the desert silhouette with the running horses. After the set I lightly spritzed the card with water and dabbed it off with a paper towel, then dried with a heat tool.  This gave the sky some interest.

For the placement of Happy Birthday, I used baking parchment paper with lines over the stamped image. This helps to see if I got the sentiment lined up. Then I stamp the sentiment on the parchment, if it is straight, I carefully remove the parchment and stamp directly on the inked panel.

After getting to this point, I found I had a smudge on my panel! I was really happy with the inking and did not want to start over.  I was up for the creative challenge... What do I do to redeem my panel.  Stencil are your friend in this instance.

Using the - Butterfly -stencil,  I gently stenciled over the smudge with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Scorched Timber and then in two other areas on the card. It looks like I intended to add the stenciling. Three black gems were added to the upper left.

The panel was then mounted on a black mat and adhered to a card base.

What do you think of my creative save?

Holiday Ink Smooshed Card

Happy Holidays BPM/IBFS Fans! Betty here today. Here's a fun, fast, and easy card to make with no coloring whatsoever! Just playing with some Distress Inks and stamping with red rubber stamps from Blank Page Muse/I Brake for Stamps. I used three stamps from three different sets to make this card. The first one is a stamp called Santa on Sled with Reindeer Art Silhouette from the Winter Wonderland set (the single stamp is also available); second one is the trees from the Sir Holiday Gnome Tree No Place Like Gnome set; and the third is the fancy swirl stamp from the Background Grunge set by Pam Bray. It's always fun when I get to do some ink smooshing and stamping!

You can save 15% on these stamps and all purchases at Blank Page Muse and at I Brake for Stamps by using my special code BPMBetty.

Head on over to my blog for the list of supplies and instructions on how to make this card: Betty's Blog

Vintage Corset Card

Happy New Year! I can hardly believe 2021 is here... 2020 has definitely been... a year. December was a particularly hard month and when I sat down to create I felt so discouraged.

There is something so exciting about having a blank canvas in front of you....

So I started with just a blank piece of cardstock that was cut down to 4" x 5.25" and one of my go to products: Distress Ink. From there I let go of the stress and got lost in the creating. . .

Begin by inking a embossing plate before running it through.

It embosses the ink into the paper to create a beautiful background:

Now, time for the stamping!

Stamps Used:

The Vintage Corset is one of my favorite stamps. The detail is beautiful.
Try stamped it using Archival Ink onto Kraft cardstock.

Then using Distress Ink Pine Needles, stamp the leaves. Fussy cut them all out and and use Copic Atyou Spica markers to add a little sparkle.

Using the Pine Needles Distress Ink and oval stencil, create a oval shape on the background. Adhere the corset and leaves using glue and some pop dots for dimension.

Supplies Used:

I love all thing vintage and really enjoyed working with the Vintage Corset Stamp!
What Vintage things have you made?

Happy New Year!

Christine

Bright and Colorful Ornaments

Hi BPM Fans! Betty here with a bright and colorful Ornament.

I hope you are having fun seeing all the amazing ornaments the Blank Page Muse Team has created for the holidays!   The ornament I created can be used on your Christmas tree or can be used all year round to hang wherever you please. The double-sided ornament is made from chipboard, stamped, and sealed with Glossy Accents so they will last for many many years. They make great stocking stuffers and gifts. Plus they are fun to make!
I hope you will give them a try and enter it into our monthly challenge. The theme is Celebrate and it can be any holiday.

SIDE 1                           SIDE 2

Supplies:
  • Blank Page Muse Stamps: Background Grunge Stamp Sheet by Pam Bray and Small Butterfly by Pam Bray
  • Chipboard - either 30pt or 22pt
  • Ornament die or circle die, minimum size 3". I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Circle Tags Dies
  • Black solvent ink, such as Staz-On
  • Acrylic stamping block
  • Washi tape
  • White gesso
  • Washi tape - this is for texture. Use any pattern.
  • Distress ink or Distress Oxide: Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers, Seedless Preserves, Black Soot
  • Distress ink applicator
  • Distress Collage Medium or Mod Podge (matte or glossy)
  • Strong white glue
  • Glossy Accents or Diamond Glaze
  • Paint brush
  • Black 1/4" wide ribbon - approximately 9"
  • Optional items: Charms
Instructions:
  • Using an ornament or circle die, cut 2 die cuts with chipboard
  • Using a paint brush, apply a thin layer of Gesso on one side of each of the die cuts. You will only need to do one side since we will be gluing these two pieces together. Let dry completely.
  • Adhere the washi tape in various areas
  • Apply another thin coat of Gesso and let it dry
  • Using the black ink pad and background stamps, stamp a few of the background images. When stamping chipboard, I find it easier to place the chipboard on top of the larger stamps and rub it.
  • Apply another thin coat of Gesso, making sure you can still see the stamps through the Gesso. Let it dry.
  • Now stamp your focal stamps. Design your ornament how you like it! Let the ink dry.
  • Apply the colorful distress inks in various places. Apply the Black Soot in on the edges of the ornament.

  • Using a paint brush, apply a coat of the Distress Collage Medium or Mod Podge. Let it dry.
  • Using a paint brush, apply a generous coat of Glossy Accents. Add the charm while it is still wet. Add a little extra Glossy Accents to make sure the charm is secure. Let it dry.  NOTE: If you have charms that have the ring on top, break it off with two jewelry pliers. Hold the charm with one pliers and twist off the ring with the other pliers.

  • Using strong white glue, adhere the two back sides together to form the ornament.
  • Insert a charm in the ribbon and tie the ribbon onto the ornament. If you used a circle die, you will need to punch a hole and thread your ribbon through. Your masterpiece is done!

I hope you give this ornament a try. Check out the Blank Page Muse Art Rubber Stamps store for a large collection of amazing red rubber stamps, stencils, paper and more!

I had so much fun making these ornaments that I just had to make a steampunk Santa ornament with the same background stamps I used above, along with two stamps from the Steampunk'd Christmas Holiday set.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
