Starry Scented Soap Gifts!

Hi Blank Page Muse Fans!
Hope everyone is enjoying all of our wonderful and fun Xmas ideas here at the blog!
I'm really a bit "Bah Humbug" about Xmas but I did enjoy creating these little soap gifts to share with you! They are nice and quick and make a great last minute gift idea!
Supplies:
Natural Soaps
Corrugated Card (metallic/shimmer used here)
Raffia and string
Scraps of White Card
Ink Sprays
Black Archival Ink
Fancy Safety Pins
Scissors
Instructions:

Gather your bits & pieces to get started.
Cut your corrugated card to size to wrap around the soaps - the ends stay exposed so you can see the soap colours.
Use various coloured strings and raffia to tie around the soap and card. Set aside while you do your stamping.
Spray your scrap white card with ink sprays in co-ordinating colours and allow to dry.

Use the Black Archival ink to stamp the Stars onto the ink sprayed card and fussy cut.

Use some fancy safety pins in co-ordinating colours to attaché the stars to the raffia bows.

You now have some cute and fun and quick little gifts to give for Xmas! Perfect for last minute creating as they are nice and quick!

Thanks for joining me today and make sure you pop back here to the blog regularly for more inspiration for Xmas!

Happy stamping and enjoy the festive season!

The Joy of Christmas card

Hi everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas.  I wanted to show you one of the Christmas cards I created this year.  Although Christmas is over, you can use this technique year round.
You don't need a ton of stamps to create a beautiful card.  This lovely  card uses just one stamp.
Blank Page Muse Products used:
Holly and Branches Stamp

Other Products Used:
Distress Markers
Distress Ink- Pumice Stone
Emerald Creek Embossing Powder in Charred Gold
Tim Holtz Holiday Words Script Die and Funky Festive
Chipboard Doily Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts
Stamp Platform
Circle Punch
Ribbon
Cardstock
Adhesive

Start by trimming your card to the size you want it to be or use a precut card.
Mount your stamp to your stamp platform.  Color the stamp using various markers.

Don't be afraid to layer your colors.  The leaves will all turn out just a tad different and add a more realistic feel to your card.  If the marker dries as you are coloring just breathe on the stamp and it will rehydrate the ink.

Cover the entire piece of the card.  Once the holly is all stamped cover the entire card with a bit of Pumice Stone Distress Ink to age it.

Mount the base to the card.  Add a bit of ribbon.
Punch a circle out and color it using a bit of Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  Use the outer ring of the Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts Doily and emboss it.  Attach the doily to the circle.  Attach the circle to the card.
Use the Tim Holtz Script to die cut the word "joy" and adhere it to the center of the circle.
Add some holly cut from the Festive Funky die set to finish off the corner.

This will be my final monthly post for Blank Page Muse.  I have so enjoyed my time with the team over the past year.  I absolutely love the product, so this will not be the last you see of me!
Have a wonderful New Year,

Merry & Bright Card

Hello BPM Fans,

It's Karen here.   I hope you are enjoying a festive holiday season. Here is my quick card to inspire you and keep us in the Christmas spirit.  This is my non-traditional tree decorated with Christmas lights.  It is a very quick make and can be easily put together for that last minute unexpected guest, forgotten relative, or produced assembly line style for a long list of family and friends.  Here we go!

BPM Stamps:

Other Supplies:
  • black ink pad
  • clear mounting block
  • permanent markers
  • watercolor paints
  • black cardstock
  • vellum
  • clear gloss dimensional paint
  • card base (5x5")
Directions:
1. Stamp the bare tree with black ink onto white cardstock.

2. Use permanent markers to draw a numerous light bulbs in different colors to cover the tree.  (TIP: For a more realistic look, make sure to vary the angle of each light bulb.)

3. Next, use watercolor paint to add a subtle glow around each bulb.

4. To create dimension for each light bulb, apply clear gloss dimensional paint just over the bulb (TIP: only apply it over the bulb made with permanent marker). This will give each bulb a raised appearance with a glass like finish.  Set aside to dry.

5. Matte the bulb covered tree with black cardstock. Use black ink to stamp the sentiment onto a strip of vellum and then lay the strip over the lower part of the tree trunk.  Gently wrap the overhanging strips of vellum around the edge of the stamped tree and adhere them to the back side. Adhere the finished tree to the center of a red glitter 5x5" card base.

"Seasons Greetings" Tags

Seasons Greetings to Everyone
Today I have some really quick make tags for you if you are running late with getting organised for Xmas!
If you pop to my Blog Post here from 29th November you can see how the backgrounds were made as I have used the same technique!!
Here's a quick run down for you:
Start with some clothing tags - I've used some nice thick card tags - a perfect size and nice and sturdy! Also grab some paper towel that has been used for "mopping up" ink sprays as per my blog post link above!

Cover the tags with the ink sprayed paper towel and add a piece of kraft paper to the back of each tag - this covers the overlap edges of the paper towel and gives you and area to write you greeting!

Add the gesso with a spatula through your stencil - see the blog post link above. Allow to dry.

I love using non traditional stamps for Xmas themes so yet again I've used the "Llama" by Pam Bray CLICK HERE to find this stamp in store. Stamp with black archival ink onto kraft coloured paper along with the "Seasons Greetings" stamp CLICK HERE for the store link. Fussy cut the Llama and tear out the sentiment.

Add the Llama, some muslin cloth, paper flowers and the sentiment to the tag base along with some string tied through the hole at the top and your tags are finished!

these are great not just for Xmas but for any occasion using any of the fab stamps available at the Blank Page Muse Store!!!

Hope you have enjoyed my quick make post today - be sure to check back through December for more seasonal creations and inspiration!
Happy Stamping!

Look Who's Coming!!!

Hi There,
I hope you are all warm and snuggled up to view my very wintery card.  Grab some cocoa, transparency, and permanent ink to make this quick card with Santa flying by.  Just make sure to leave an extra 2" under the Santa image so you can attach the transparency to the top of the card so the image appears to float above.  Don't forget to ad the finishing touch by attaching a red gem for Rudolph's nose.  Some quick shading with colored pencils gives the moon his glowing personality. Hey, look who's coming!

By simply tearing the edge of white paper one can create realistic snow drifts. Mr. Snowman has spotted Santa flying in the night sky. To give him a quirky inquisitive look, separate his head from his body and then reattach it with dimensional foam tape looking upward. The snowflake background was patterned paper with a quick squirt of glimmer spray. Don't forget to share your Christmas creations with us on the Facebook Fan Page.
