Say it by Journaling It!

 Hi Again BPM Fans!

Hope you are enjoying the creations the DT have been sharing so far this month - always such a wide range of inspiration and different ways to use our Blank Page Muse Stamps!

Today I am sharing a couple of tags using a gelli plate and stamps to follow our "Say It" theme for the month!

Supplies:

Blank Page Muse Stamps: Correspondence Pens, Ink & Postage Set designed by Katy Leitch

Blank Page Muse Stamps: Art Journaling #2 Set "Journal It" stamp designed by Teri Sproul

Small Gelli Plate

Acrylic Paint & Brayer

Black Ink Pad

Tags

Washi tape

General supplies: glue, scissors, scrap black twine, scrap washi tape.

Instructions:

Start by stamping the ink pot, pens and journal it wording onto white card and fussy cut.

Brayer your acrylic paint over the gelli plate.

Use the wording stamp to stamp over the gelli plate.

Lay your plain tag over the gelli plate and pick up the stamped paint. Allow to dry.

Stamp the excess paint the wording stamp has picked up off the gelli plate and stamp it onto a plain tag - this way you actually create two tag backgrounds at once!

Edge the tags with the black ink pad along with the "journal it" wording. Add a scrap of washi tape and arrange your stamped images onto the tag and adhere. finish off with a piece of black twine at the top of the tag.

Budget Friendly Envelope

You don't need endless supple of expensive craft items to enjoy stamps and other paper crafts. I went to Dollar Tree and picked up a few things. My Dollar Tree is well stocked with craft items. I even found this washi tape. The tape is a little more on the plastic side but if you want it to stick to your projects better add a little Tacky glue. 

Stencil used:

Additional items needed:

• Imagination
• washi tape
• Acrylic paint
• Envelopes
• Sponges

1. If your envelope has a window like mine, add a little washi tape to protect it from paint. 
2. Then add a little tape to the edges of your stencil so it doesn't move when you sponge your paint to the envelope                                                                                                                                                                      
   
   
   
3. Have fun this part is a bit messy. I also took my sponge and ran it along the edge of the envelope to give it a little more color.

It's Raining Kitties!

Hi friends! Teri here with another card using Blank Page Muse products! As soon as I saw this cute kitty and parachuting mice, I knew a scene was in order! The stamps are from the Sending Smiles Whimsical set.

Here are the steps to create this cute Slimline card!

Ink blend the sky, sun and an area for grass using distress inks on a slimline white base cut with a stitched die.

Stamp the Kitty on the grass with two of his mice friends in black ink and color with Copic markers.

Stamp the mice with parachutes randomly falling from the sky using a Copic friendly black ink. Choose any color scheme you like (I went with primary colors). 

Stamp the You are my Sunshine Sentiment stamp on a die cut tag and add to the front of the card. Once done coloring, choose a coordinating color to frame the stamped piece!

Quick Ideas Mail Art

Hello all

I have a few quick ideas for mail art using the rubber stamp sets available at The Blank Page Muse.

This main stamp is from Sending Smiles, rubber stamps designed by Rick St Dennis.

The smaller stamps to fill the background are from Pam Bray Designs, Background Grunge.

Start off with one texture stamp and use this to create a boarder around the envelope.

Stamp out the focal images onto the center of the envelope and leave a space for the address.

Next fill in the spaces using different texture stamps. Layer them by using different coloured inks.
The Unicorn rubber stamps are from the stamp set designed by Donna Gray, Unicorn Wishes.

Washi Tape Card & Envelope Gift Set

Hello, hello! Happy July, everyone! Did you know that it is never too early to get started on making your holiday gifts? 

Today I'm going to share a super easy gift idea with you; washi tape cards and coordinating envelopes. You'll be amazed by how quickly it all comes together!

You will need:

• At least two different rolls of washi tape. I used four.
• 4 white A2 sized card bases
• 4 coordinating envelopes
• Masking paper (I used Post It notes)
• Black pigment ink
• Clear embossing powder
• Colored ink to match your washi tape
• The Floral Motif from the Happiness blooms from Within words & Henna Floral Motif Decorative Art Rubber Stamp designed by Shaloo Webster 
• The Dream Big Dreams Word Art Rubber Stamp
• The 'thanks' stamp from the Fall Rubber Stamp Sheet Set by Pam Bray Designs
• The Happy Birthday Phrase Rubber Stamp
• The You are my Sunshine Sentiment Art Rubber Stamp 

Let's get started!

Beginning at the top left corner of one of your card bases begin layering your washi tape. Continue until you reach about the half way point.

Trim off excess.

Repeat on remaining three card bases, alternating corners and washi tape.

Mask your card up to the edge of the washi tape.

Using your black pigment ink stamp the floral motif stamp onto the wash tape several times. Heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Repeat for remaining three cards.

Remove your masking paper and stamp your sentiment onto the  white space of your card in an ink that matches your washi tape.  Repeat for all cards.

Stamp the flaps of your envelopes as well.

Cards with Matching Envelopes

When I make cards, I always like to include matching envelope inserts. 

You can do this by stamping your own as I did here, or using gift wrap or a magazine page....

Its always looks so nice, don't you agree?

 Stamps used:

• Petals and Flowers
• Correspondence Pens, Ink and Postage

Other supplies:

• Colored paper
• Black cardstock
• Card base
• Black pigment ink pad and assorted colored ink pads
• Zig glue pen
• Deco Foil

 As seen in the photos above, its quite easy to make a envelope insert template.
You just trace your envelope onto a piece of cardstock, cut, fold and done!

Trace your template onto a piece of colored paper. Don't cut on the traced lines just yet. 

Stamp on the that paper first. Then cut on the lines, fold and adhere inside the envelope just below the envelope adhesive. 

Stamp some flowers onto scrap paper. Use the Zig pen as detail. It goes on blue and become clear when ready for the foil. Press the foil down over the glue and then pull up to reveal some shiny goodness! Cut these out and use as seals for your envelopes. 

Stamp some white cardstock with the Petals and Flowers stamp and cut out. 

Randomly stamp your card background.

Assemble your cards with cutouts.

Add some foil detail to your card too!

Tri-Fold and Seal Stationary

Hello!  Susie here with another Snail Mail project!

Did you ever have a pen pal? My cousin Rebecca was my pen pal for a while when I was a tween and I distinctly remember the stationary I used.  It was a tri-fold that you wrote on one side and then closed and sealed to mail.  It was more than a postcard but less than a card & envelope set.  It brings back happy memories that I want to recreate today.

Supplies:
Flower on Stem Art Rubber Stamp my Terri Sproul SC0033-10
Watercolor paper
Permanent, waterproof black ink- Ranger Archival was used for this project
Pigment inks - ColorBox Blends from Clearsnap were used for this project
Paintbrush
Water
Purple Tape
Stamping platform
Scoreboard
Craft mat

Begin with a piece of watercolor paper that measures 8.5"x 5.5". Score it along the long edge @ 2.5" and at 6.5" creating 3 sections. The middle section becomes the front of the tri-fold stationary. Then add a 2.75" piece of  the purple tape where the address would go.

Place it on the stamping platform with the 2.5" section at the bottom and positioned the flower stamp so that it would slightly overlap the Purple Tape. Stamp with black waterproof permanent ink.

Next stamp the flower on a separate piece of paper and trim this out so that it can be used as a mask.  Once it was in position, cover the front of the tri-fold with a light application of Golden ink, using a pouncing motion and an applicator to create a mottled coverage.
 Before removing the mask and the tape, ink around the edge of the tape to create a more solid border for the address box.

Watercolor the flower with Melon, Frog and Leaf inks.
 I love this flower stamp!  It is such a beautiful image of a dogwood flower!

I also inked along the edges and the score lines before folding it up and adding a seal.
  (Do you recognize the faux postage stamp I shared in my last post?)

And that is all there is to it!  A quick and easy idea to build up your stationary reserves!  I like to use watercolor paper but this could just as easily have been created using any cardstock.  You can get (2) tri-folds out of each standard piece of 8.5"x11" cardstock.  And don't forget to create some coordinating seals to use!

Faux Postage Stamps

Hello!  Susie here with my very first project for Blank Page Muse!

I have a little bit of a fascination for postage stamps so I thought I would take a crack at creating my own faux stamps. Nature is a common theme in postage stamps and a quick perusal of my stash produced a hummingbird stamp.

Supplies:
Hummingbird on Branch from the Inhale...Exhale Art Stamp Sheet Set SC87
Watercolor paper
Postage stamp die
Permanent, waterproof black ink- Ranger Archival was used for this project
Pigment inks - ColorBox Blends from Clearsnap were used for this project
Paintbrush
Water
Washi tape
Stamping platform
Pen - permanent black ink, superfine tip
Xyron Sticker Maker
Craft mat

Use a stamp platform to stamp the hummingbird onto a piece of paper with waterproof with permanent black ink.

Die cut a piece of watercolor paper with a postage stamp die from my stash.  Remove the die cut and   positioned the frame so that you can see the hummingbird through it, then use magnets to hold it in place.

Replace the die cut stamp in the opening so that it covers up the previously stamped hummingbird.

The die cut stamp was also embossed so there was a slightly raised area in the center.  I used washi tape to mask off the edges.

Re-ink the stamp with black, waterproof permanent ink and proceed to stamp the hummingbird.

Remove the washi tape to reveal the hummingbird image centered on the postage stamp die cut.

Next, add a rainbow array of inks onto your craft mat. Use this as a palette to custom mix your colors.

Use a permanent black ink pen to add USA and 15 cents.

Finish them off by adding adhesive to the back of each stamp with a sticker maker or double stick tape.

   

I love the way they turned out!  I can see using these as embellishments on cards, ATCs, and mini albums!
