Grow Old Friends

 Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today using some amazing stamps from Blank Page Muse.

Stamps: Old Friends, Butterfly Breezes Clear Stamp Set

This card is one that was created from one sheet of double sided pattern paper.

I loved the floral pattern, but didn't want to cover it in any way.

I began by fussy cutting the floral pattern, then matting on cardstock and fussy cutting that.

Using the reverse side of the pattern paper, cut a diagonal shape and mat with cardstock.

Cut the orange panel to fit the card base, then adhere the diagonal shape in the right corner.

Place the floral panel next with foam adhesives for dimension.

Use the same papers inside the card.

Stamp the phrase, mat with cardstock and add to the card.

Stamp and punch out the sentiment for the front panel.

Slip a small tag behind the floral image.

Finish by adding stickles about the panel.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words!

 

Hi Crafting Fans!

Today I'm sharing some altered tags using some fab stamps available at the "I Brake For Stamps" site.

Half Sheet "The Old and New"

Phrase "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words"

These tags were easy to make - I used some thick paper towel that I had used as a mat when I had been painting in my journal so it made a perfect background for these tags!

I stamped the images onto white cardstock and adhered to the tags along with some muslin and cotton scraps.

To finish off I added a little flower "gem" as Audrey's earring for some added sparkle and tied some twine to the tops.

Fairy Galaxy Memorydex Card

Hello, hello! Samantha here to share my newest project with you; a fairy galaxy MemoryDex card. What is a MemoryDex card you ask? Well, it's kind of like a Rolodex card except bigger and better. Today I'm going to be using a punch to create the notches in mine but if you don't have a punch or a die there are many tutorials over on YouTube that show you how to make the notches by hand.

For this project you will need the following supplies:

• A MemoryDex card punch, die, or some other way to create the notches
• The Fairy Poem Sentiment Word Art stamp
• The  Fairy Sitting Fantasy Art Rubber stamp
• A piece of white cardstock measuring 4" x 4"
• Inks for blending; yellow, teal, purple, and red violet (I used Distress Oxides in Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, Dusty Concord, and Seedless Preserves)
• White and Black paint
• An old toothbrush
• A coloring medium of your choice (I used Spectrum Noir markers)
• Black pigment ink
• Clear embossing powder
• Clear shimmer brush

Stamp and color the fairy. Use your clear shimmer brush on her wings. Fussy cut her out and set aside.

Now we're going to make our galaxy. First apply your yellow ink.

Then your teal ink.

Followed by your red violet ink.

Finish with your purple ink.

If you used Distress Oxide inks spritz your card with water and let dry. Use your preferred method to create the notches in the bottom of your Memorydex card. Round the corners.

Squirt a bit of white paint onto your toothbrush. Rub your thumb across the bristles to get the paint to splatter on your card.

Repeat with your black paint.
Stamp your sentiment in black pigment ink and heat set with clear embossing powder. Adhere your fairy.

Scrappy Birthday

Hello, hello! Samantha here with a super quick idea to share with you all. If you're anything like me then you hate throwing away those beautiful scraps of paper we all end up with when working on a project.

In my last tutorial we were left with a center portion from a cardstock panel.
For this card you'll take that center portion and adhere it to a piece of white cardstock cut to 2" x 4.25". Place dimensional foam adhesive on the back.

Using red ink stamp the Happy Birthday Phrase Rubber Stamp sentiment in the center of the card.

Attach the scrap and cardstock piece to the bottom section of the card.

Make a Wish Split Panel Card

Hello, hello! Samantha here and I'm so happy to be on the BPM inspiration team for another term. Speaking of inspiration my inspiration for today's card came from my colored pencils. I know that that may sound silly but looking at all those rich, vibrant colors filled me with ideas.

Let's jump right in!

You will need:

• The Whimsical Daisy Doodle Flower Art Rubber Stamp for Borders Backgrounds Pam Bray Designs
• The 'Make a Wish' sentiment stamp from the Dandelion Wishes with Butterflies Art Rubber Stamp Sheet by Terri Sproul
• Black cardstock
• White cardstock cut to 4.25" x 5.5"
• White A2 sized card base
• Sticky embossing ink pad
• White embossing powder
• Inks in various colors for blending
• A border die
• Dimensional foam adhesive

Inking up with sticky embossing ink stamp the Whimsical Daisy stamp all across the white cardstock panel and once onto the black cardstock. Heat set using white embossing powder. Fussy cut the flower from the black cardstock panel and set aside.

Using your inks blend across the white panel. I decided to go with a vibrant rainbow look.

Flip the panel over and make marks at about 2" and 3.5".

With your border die cut the panel at your pencil marks. For this card we're only going to use the top and bottom portions but don't throw the center portion away; I'm going to show you how to turn it into a card in my next blog post.

With your inks do some ink blending on the front of your card base.

Temporarily adhere the top and bottom portions to the card base to use as a guide for the placement of the 'Make a Wish'
sentiment.  Stamp and heat set with white embossing powder

Place dimensional foam adhesive on the backs of the top and bottom portions. Line up with the top and bottom of the card base and attach.

Add your black flower that you'd fussy cut earlier.

Make the background with stencil and Distress Oxide. Stamp the leaves.

Stamp the circles on printed paper and cut them with a round punch.

Stamp the bird on a watercolor paper and color it with markers.

Adhere the circles on the right side.

Color the leaves with a green marker and draw a tree branch.

Stamp the title.

Dare to Dream Wind Chime

Hello all

I have a new project for The Blank Page Muse Stamps and this week i have a wind chime to share.

products used

The Blank Page Muse Dare to Dream  Mixed Media Background Stamp Set

Acrylic paints

Makeup sponges

Circle Cutting dies

Card Stock.

Beads

Thread

Dowel

Use a circle nesting die to cut out three different shaped circles. Cut out two of each so you can stick them back to back. You will need to cut out three pairs of each circle size.

Use a makeup sponge to dab on acrylic paint in your choice of color.

Use the Dare to Dream stamp and ink it up.

Press each of the circles onto the stamp to get a bit of the pattern on each one.

Take some thread and thread a few beads on. Then add glue to one of the circles and sandwich it between the thread.

Then add another layer of beads followed by the circles. Finish off each strand with a big bead or charm,repeat this process until you have three strands of beads and circles.

Take a thick piece of dowel and tie twine around the ends to create a hanger.

Tie each strand to the doweling to finish the wind chime.

Shake Your Tail Feathers

Hello, hello! Samantha here and today I'm going to show you how to make a shaker card. Shaker cards are my favorite cards to make.
I know that they can seem really intimidating at first but I assure you that once you get the hang of it you'll be an old pro in no time.

Let's get started!

You will need the following:

• Blue A2 sized card base
• Heavyweight vellum
• White card panel cut to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" (card panel 1)
• White card panel cut to 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" (card panel 2)
• Sticky embossing ink
• Gold embossing powder
• Coloring medium of your choice 
• Sequins, beads, or gems of your choice
• Acetate or plastic packaging cut to 5 1/4" x 4"
• 1/4" wide foam tape (I prefer to use tape that is 1/4" in thickness as well)
• Double sided adhesive tape
• The feathers and bird stamps from the Flower & Bird Sketches Art Rubber Stamp Sheet Set 

Using sticky embossing ink, stamp the large and medium feathers all across card panel 1 and use the medium feather to stamp numerous times on heavy weight vellum. Cover both in gold embossing powder and heat set.

Fussy cut the feathers from the vellum and set aside.

Stamp the bird onto card panel 2. Color with the medium of your choice. I used markers and colored my bird to look a little like an American Gold Finch. Adhere card panel 2 to your card base.

Turn card panel 1 over. Measure and mark  on all four sides at .5". Cut along the lines. Alternatively you can use a die but sometimes I like doing it this way.

This gives us the frame for the front of the shaker card. Place double sided adhesive along the inner sides of the back of the frame and place double sided adhesive along the edges of the acetate or plastic packaging.

Remove the backing from the adhesive and place the acetate onto the back of the frame.

Take your foam tape and run it all along the outside of card panel 2.

Before removing the backing from your foam tape fill the well with some of your vellum feathers and any other shaker filling you'd like. I went with sequins and clear acrylic gems. Attach the frame to the foam tape and glue a few of the feathers to the outside of the frame.
