Hello Again Fans!

Are you loving this months theme "Things with Wings"?

Soooooo many Blank Page Muse Stamps to create with for this theme - my tag art today uses three different stamps from the fab range at the Store!
 

You know I love to decorate tags so I hope you enjoy my mixed media double tag creation today!

Supplies List:

Blank Page Muse Stamp: Feathered Pair of Wings

Blank Page Muse Stamp: Birds on Wires Silhouette Border designed by Terri Sproul

Blank Page Muse Stamp: Feather Art designed by Pam Bray

Gelli Plate Printed Double Tags note: you can cut your own tags to size from your gelli prints if you don't have any!!

Embossing Ink Stamp Pad, Black Fine Embossing Powder and Embossing Powder in Complimentary Colour

Black Archival Ink Pad

White Tissue Paper

Kraft Paper

Collage "Characters" used here by Art Tea Life

Various embellishments: string, muslin cloth, cork style border strip etc.

Tools: heat gun, scissors, glue

 

 

Instructions:

Use pre printed tags or cut your own from gelli plate printed card. I always have some extra things on hand to grab and create with!

Use the Feather Art stamp with embossing ink and embossing powder to randomly add some more dimension to the printed background and add a little "sparkle"!

Use the Black Archival Ink to stamp the Birds on Wires onto white tissue paper. Tear out the stamped image.

Use Gel Medium to adhere the tissue paper stamps onto the tag background. Tearing the image allows it to "blend" into the background better than a straight cut edged piece of tissue. Be careful when adhering the tissue down as it can tear easily once wet. Allow to dry.

Whilst your tag background is drying stamp the wings and sentiment onto Kraft Paper using the clear embossing ink pad. Use fine black embossing powder and heat. Fussy cut the wings and tear the sentiment.

Gather your collage elements, stamped images and embellishments. Glue the embossed and fussy cut wings to your collage character. Soooo cute!!!!!

Arrange all of your elements onto the tag background and adhere everything with glue. To finish tie some string to the top of each of the double tag.
 



I always like to stamp extra images so I can make more than one tag at a time. I created another double tag with my extras:

Octopus has Wings C

Hello there. Cathy N here with a different winged card for you. I was sitting at my table and looking at my wings stamp and thinking what could have wings. Octopus popped into my head!

Stamps Used:

Feathered Pair of Wings

Octopus from Octopus time set
Raindrop form Raindrops waterdrops set
Saying

Other Supplies:
White cardstock
Black cardstock scrap
Blue cardstock
Copic markers
Glitter marker
Glossy accents
Dresden crown
 Black ink
Blue inks

Start out by masking the top of the Octopus . Stamp on white cardstock. 

 Distress the edges of the white cardstock. Color the octopus with some Copic markers.

 Stamp Feathered Pair of Wings on white cardstock.

Color with Copic markers and cut out.

Add Wings to the Octopus  that you already colored.

 Add a Dresden crown to the top of the Octopus . I mean who doesn't need a crown. Then add some glitter to the wings. You got the crown so you definitely need glitter.

 Next take a small Raindrop  and different color of blue inks and stamp the Raindrop  on the top of the card. Add glossy accents to the raindrops so they look wet.

Stamp the saying on white cardstock and layer that on black cardstock. Add it to the bottom of the card. Then add it to blue card base.

Heart with Wings Card

It is not often you can use a background stamp to create a featured image for your card.  However, the swirled rose background is designed in such a fashion that you can cut out the individual roses. In fact, I even cut our a vague heart shape.  So if you are in need of some Valentine inspiration for the lovely people in your life, follow along as I give you a step by step tutorial for my Heart with Wings card.

BPM Stamps:
Feathered Pair of Wings 
Background Roses 
You Light Up My Life

Other Supplies:  
Ink pad (red and black)
Card base (5x7")
Clear mounting block
Embossing powder (gold)
Embossing ink pad
Heat gun
Black card stock

Directions:
1. Stamp the swirly rose background using red ink onto white cardstock.

 

2. Carefully cut around the roses to form a abstract heart shape. In addition, cut out some individual roses.

3. Use an ink blending tool to color the roses red.

4. Stamp the wing image with black ink onto white card stock.

5. Carefully, fussy cut the wings and assemble the wings to each side of the heart. Attach the single roses using foam tape.

6. Stamp the swirly rose background using red ink. Adhere it to the upper portion of the card.

7. Stamp the sentiment using embossing ink, add gold embossing powder, and heat set. Finally, trim and matte with black card stock.

The Flying Coin and Other Tales......

Hi Again Everyone!

Back for my second post for this month!

Are you enjoying the "ATCoins" theme we have going on at the moment?

It seems everyone has gone crazy for this new "fad" and I'm no exception especially as I now have a 2.5" die cut that I can use to go crazy cutting ATCoin bases - addicted? Yes!

Today I've created some ATCoins but instead of using them to trade I have used them as the main focus on journal pages!!! LOL Some are just too cool to give away!!

I was given a fab ATCoin collage sheet of "faces" and they were just perfect for teaming with the Blank Page Muse Stamps to create these fun and whimsical pages in my journal!

Supplies:



• Blank Page Muse Stamps:
• Feathered Wings
• Dragonfly by Pam Bray
• Dare to Fly Word Stamp
• ATCoin Bases (2.5inches round) cut from gelli prints or patterned paper
• Collage Faces: Art Tea Life sheet used for these creations
• White Card
• Archival Ink Pads
• Tools & Accessories: scissors, glue, embellishments ie. muslin cloth, encyclopaedia wording, washi
• Optional: embossing ink and powders or glitter glue
• Journal page backgrounds or decorated tags, index cards etc.

Instructions:
Start by cutting your ATCoin bases from Gelli printed card or alternatively use patterned paper.

Stamp the Blank Page Muse "Feathered Wings" onto white cardstock using coloured ink of your choice - co-ordinate with your ATCoin backgrounds. Fussy cut the wings.

Cut the "Faces" from the collage sheet and adhere to your ATCoin backings.

As an option you can cut your ATCoin backings from plain white card and embellish the edges with glitter glue or embossing ink and powder for a sparkly look!

Add the Feathered wings to make little "characters". These ATCoins are ready to embellish your journal pages!



The following steps show how I completed a couple of journal pages with the ATCoins:

You can also use your ATCoins to embellish altered index card and large tags - lots of possibilities!

Start with a background and choose one of your "character" ATCoins and some embellishments.

This "character" is reminiscent of the Greek God "Hermes" who is typically depicted with a winged hat - so instead of using the stamped wings as wings they were used to symbolise Hermes winged headwear! This ATCoin has been added to the page with muslin cloth, encyclopedia page with "Hermes" description and a few pink gemstones.

There are so many fab Blank Page Muse Stamps that you can adapt for this purpose: shown below is the Large Dragonfly stamp and another of the ATCoin characters ready to be adhered to another journal page!



Page background ready to add the coin - added washi tape, muslin cloth and the Blank Page Muse stamp "Dare to Fly" - perfect for the end look!



And the finished page with the dragonfly "character" as the main focal point!

Artist Trading Coins Trio

Hello all you Blank Page Muse Fans. Hope your Summer is going well. Cathy here to share my trio of Artist Trading Coins. These things are HOT right now. I hope I inspire you to go out and try some of your own!

Stamps Used:
Pineapple by Pam Bray
Tropical Flowers by Pam Bray
Ravens Den by Pam Bray
Silhouette tree 
Raven from Halloween on a shelf

Light Bulb
Artist Trading Coin Back

Other Supplies:
100 LB cardstock(to make the Coin sturdy)
Circle Die
Glitter pen
Glue Stick
Glossy Accents
Distress inks and Oxide
Black ink
Stencil
White cardstock
Word stickers

All the Coins start out the same way.

Start out with a 2.5 circle. Die cut 2 100LB circles and glue them together.

It makes for a stronger Coin.

 Next take some white cardstock and die cut a circle from it.  Use some Distress ink and smooch it on a craft sheet and drag the circle through the ink. Heat to dry. Glue this to the Coins you cut out earlier.

Then stamp Feathered Wings on Coin. Set aside.

 Stamp Light Bulb on scrap white cardstock. Color wires with Copic  markers. Cut out.

 Glue the Light Bulb onto the front of Coin with the Feathered Wings. Add Glossy Accents to Light Bulb. Let dry. Last add a word sticker that goes with the images.

 Took a scrap yellow cardstock that had some stenciling on it and cut a circle out of it. Saved it from the trash.

 Stamped the Tropical Flowers  on the edge. Made a mask of the flower and stamped it repeatedly along the side. Added some glitter to the flowers to make them sparkle.  

Next stamp Pineapple on bottom of Coin and color in with Copic markers. Last add a word sticker that goes.

 Use your Distress Oxide for this one. Smooch the inks on the craft mat and  grab a white cardstock circle and run it through. Dry

 Then stamp part of the  Silhouette tree  on Coin. The next step is the hardest. What way do you want the tree branches to go?

Stamp  Raven on gray cardstock and color in with Copic makers. Then cut out. Glue cut Raven to the Coin.

 Last stamp Ravens Den on a scrap piece of white cardstock.

Cut up and edge with black marker.

Last take some pattern paper and stamp Artist Trading Coin Back
Cut out using die. What is nice the stamp is smaller then the Coin so it fits nicely on the back.
