My Manifesto

Heeey, it's Robin Redd (a.k.a. RockinReddRobin!)

This week, I did another art journal page.
This lesson was taken from Effy Wild's Book of Days class.

The top and bottom border is made with strips of masking tape.
The masking tape lays underneath a selfie that is printed on simple copy paper.

I used Punchinella to stencil on the sides of my photo,
then turned the Punchinella over and stamped with it around my art journal page.

I doodled, with a gold metallic pen, little squares to frame the entire layout.
I stamped the swirl from the Art Journaling with Terri Sproul 2 stamp set, and the Believe in Yourself from the Fairies & Blossoms stamp set.

And I just love the pointing finger from the Classic Spark stamp set.
I hope I've inspired you to create something today.
Until next time...

"Flutter By" Sin City Design Team Project by~ WildHeart Art ~

 ~Flutter By~
 Sin City Design Team Project
By WildHeart Art

I have always loved butterflies with  the beautiful colors in their wings as well as the transparent colors in stained glass artwork so I decided to check out my "stash" for this design team project and try to incorporate them both together.  I love the outcome and it was a very fun and easy project to do!

~Supplies~

Journal page
Gesso
Glass Bead Gel
Fine glitter
Alcohol inks
Dylusions Ink Sprays
Prima Color Bloom Spray
Black ink pad
Blue acrylic paint

   1) Gesso your art journal page and let dry.
2) Spray randomly with the ink sprays and let dry.

3)Apply the butterfly die cuts and using bead gel medium and a palate knife, spread the bead gel medium over the die cut to cover, in a very thin layer. Sprinkle some fine glitter over the butterflies and let dry.

4)  When dried add the alcohol inks by drops onto the wings  and body  randomly to emulate the beautiful  colors on the wings.
 5) Using  the swirl stamps in the Terri Sproul Art Journal stamp set, apply the stamps here and there with black ink. Then using the butterfly stamp to stamp in the middle right of the page.

As you can here in the close up of the wing the bead gel and glitter give it that texture and the alcohol colors give it that lovely transparent color.

 6) Here I finished off with some dots of acrylic paints  in blue to bring it all together

Hope you have enjoyed this unique butterfly project!
Have a beautiful creative day!

~Pony Express~ Sin City DT Post created by WildHeart Art~

~Pony Express~
Vintage Style Envelope

I just LOVE this fun envelope template by Green Sneakers called Kreate-A-lope!
I had a "Vintage" Style in mind for this envelope, using Tim Holtz's"" craft resist collage papers. They offered the perfect look for this idea! And  I finished off the design with stamps from Sin City Stamps!
~Supplies~
Kreate- a -lope  Template by Green Sneakers
Tim Holtz Craft Resist "idea-ology" collage papers
Glue tape
Decorative scissors to cut edges
Sin City Stamps-Butterflies
Stamp pad in Archival Black and Sepia
Cream colored card stock for the address label
Glitter Glue
Acrylic paint in Turquoise

1) Cut out envelope using the Kreate -a-lope template and the decorative edging  scissors.

2) Fold the paper as directed to form the envelope.

3) Secure the edges using the glue tape.

4)Stamp the butterfly stamp on the inside of the flap.

5) Using the  letters stamp from the Art Journal Set , stamp in black ink down the sides of the front of the envelope.

 6) Using the Sepia ink pad gently go around the edges of the envelope and address label to give a more Vintage feel.

  7) Highlight the butterfly stamp with a bit of glitter glue

8) I wanted a bit more color so I added the turquoise dots down both sides of the stamped design. The Butterfly stamp gives the envelope a  more feminine touch but without the butterfly stamp it would be a nice envelope for a handmade  Father's day card too!!

Hope you have enjoyed and have a beautiful day!
