A Little Birdie Told Me ~ Wings

Hi, friends!  It's design team member Walter here on the blog with you.  Today I'm sharing my final card for the May theme of Wings.  For this card, I wanted to focus on a bird and the Flower & Bird Sketches Art Rubber Stamp Sheet Set provided the perfect images to use.  The bird stamp is so beautifully detailed.  I didn't want to use traditional bird colors though . . . I wanted the bird to pop.  I decided upon stamping it on patterned paper for a touch of whimsy.  I feel that it creates a happier aesthetic and is very pretty.  Oh, and a little birdie told me that you're amazing!

I used the following to create it:

• Flower & Bird Sketches Art Rubber Stamp Sheet Set
• Special Day Clear Sentiments Flowers Stamp Set
• Brutus Monroe Clear Embossing Ink
• Brutus Monroe Icicle Clear Embossing Powder
• Altenew Caramel Toffee Ink Spray
• Black Pigment Ink
• Scorched Timber Distress Ink
• Gel Pens
• Piece of patterned paper of choice
• A2 Kraft card base
• 4"x5.25" Aquamarine card panel

Here's how I created it:

I began by stamping the trio of flowers onto the card panel using black ink to create the main focal point.  I thought it would be a nice effect to have an arch of floating "invisible" feathers around the floral.  The next step was to use the smallest feather stamp and clear embossing ink to stamp the arch design in place.  I made sure to place the feathers in different positions to give a "stages of falling" look.

Once all of the wings were stamped, I restamped the floral element with black pigment ink and then dusted the entire panel with clear embossing powder.  I wanted to seal the floral to add a shine to it and help it stand out.

I decided to use gel pens to color the flowers to make sure that they are opaque since alcohol markers would have given them a more translucent effect.  I started with a darker base gel pen, let it dry, and then put in highlights were a lighter shade.  I'm pretty happy with how they look!  I then stamped the sentiment at the top of the card.

I stamped the bird onto some patterned paper with Scorched Timber ink and then fussy cut it out.  I put some double-sided foam tape onto the bird and set it aside.  I covered up the sentiment and floral with low tack tape and used the inside part of the sprayer to tape some Caramel Toffee ink splatter onto the card.

The last step was to adhere the panel onto the card base and then place the bird down onto it.  While a very simple design, it's packed with nice colors and some really cool design elements.  I hope that you like it!

Thinking About You ~ Wings

Hi, friends!  It's design team member Walter here on the blog with you.  Today I'm sharing my first card for the May theme of Wings.  Wings is such an expansive theme that can cover so many things from airplanes to insects.  For this card, I wanted to focus on the beauty of wings.  What's more full of natural beauty than a butterfly?  And even better is if it's a non-traditional butterfly such as the one that I'm using on my card: a butterfly shape with butterfly shadows inside of it with beautiful florals and sheet music in the background.  It truly is nature's symphony!  It's a great card to share with someone who needs a pick-me-up or to let them know that they are on your mind.

Here's what I used to make it:

• Butterfly Large with flowers Art Rubber Stamp
  
• Special Day Stamps Birthday Hugs by Pam Bray
• Fantasy Flourish Stencil
  
• Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink
• Simon Hurley Rosy Cheeks and Minty Fresh Dye Inks
• Black Pigment Ink
• Light and Dark Gray alcohol markers
• White Gel Pen
• White Lace Ribbon
• White A2 card base
• White 4.25"x5.5" piece of white cardstock
• Light Blue 4"x5.5" card panel
• Double sided foam tape strips
• Clear acrylic bubbles 

Here's how I made it:

• Aligned stencil onto light blue card panel and stenciled the pattern with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink.

• Stamped the Thinking of You Sentiment onto the top center of the card panel using blank pigment ink.
• Cut a piece of white lace ribbon and attached it to the card panel using craft glue.
• Adhered the card panel to the base using double sided tape.

• Stamped the butterfly image onto white cardstock using black pigment ink.
• Blended Rosy Cheeks Ink around the outside of the image and then blended Minty Fresh Ink inside the image.

• Added shading around the edges of the image with a dark gray alcohol marker and then went over the entire image with a light gray alcohol marker.

• Added detail to daisy petals with a white gel pen.
• Cut out the image with scissors and adhered to the card with double sided foam tape.
• Glued down three clear acrylic bubbles.

And just like that . . . the card is done!  A beautifully detailed stamped image, such as this butterfly, makes creating such a card so easy.  You can make the coloring as light or heavy as you'd like and add as much or as little detail as you'd like.  The design speaks for itself!

Swirl in Kindness

Good day, fellow crafters. It's Tamara once again, with a new post where I am going to be showcasing my latest card created using Blank Page Muse products! 

Kindness is a powerful force that has the ability to uplift, connect, and bring joy to those around us. Just like a simple act of kindness can brighten someone’s day, certain colors can influence our emotions in subtle but profound ways. Soft pastel hues such as blues, pinks, and purples are known for their calming and soothing effects. These gentle shades create a sense of peace and positivity, making them perfect for fostering an environment of warmth and compassion. When combined with acts of kindness, these colors can enhance the mood, leaving a lasting impact on both the giver and the receiver

To create this project, you will need the following: 

• Blank Page Muse Butterfly Trails Circles patterns Mixed Media Stencil
• Blank Page Muse Kindness Changes Everything words rubber stamp
• A2 card base – Lavender (4.25” x 5.5”)
• White cardstock

• Liquid glue

• Paper trimmer

• Scissors

• Watermark ink

• Black embossing powder

• Light Pink ink

• Light Blue ink

• Ink blending brush

• Metallic Gilding Polish

• Liquid accent drops

• Low tack tape or grip mat

• Glass or silicon work mat

Background Panel

• Use the white card stock, inks and ink blending brushes to blend a light pale pattern
• KEY TIP: Lighter pressure is your friend when trying to achieve a light hue
• Blend in random spots first then blend the edges together

• Using the low tack tape or grip mat, secure the Butterfly Trails stencil to the background panel
• KEY TIP: Remember that if using the low tack tape option, remove the tape by slowly pulling at a 45° angle to prevent tearing 

• Using and applicator, apply the Metallic Gilding Polish over the stencil
• Caution should be used with how vigorously the polish is applied so it doesn't get under the stencil 
• Carefully remove the stencil and tape
• Remove background panel from worksurface
• Clean the stencil and worksurface
• Allow the polish to dry in full  
• Once dry apply the metallic liquid accent drops and then set aside to dry 

Sentiment

• Using the watermark ink and the Kindness Changes Everything stamp, align, ink, and stamp the sentiment. Repeat if needed for complete coverage
• KEY TIP: A stamping platform works well for this step
• Using the Black embossing powder cover the watermark ink
• Shake of the excess and heat set with the heat tool

Assembly

• Trim 1/8" from all sides of the background panel for the mat revel
• Using liquid glue, align and adhere the background panel to the card base

Using Digital Paper to Create a 3D Embellishment

Hello! Welcome back to the BPM blog. I am glad you are here. Do you remember the time in crafting when rosettes were on trend? I remember creating a lot of it back then. Remember when you have to score the paper evenly, mountain and valley fold it, and use a glue gun to keep the rosettes form? Nowadays, creating rosettes are easier than it used to be especially with the creation of specialty dies that cut and score the paper for you. Not only that. Rosettes are not limited to the circular rosettes anymore. There are dies that create shaped ones just like the one that I used on today's project. 

I used an image from the Blank Page Muse Vibrant Spring Digital Paper Bundle. This bundle includes a sheet of ephemera, a sheet of tabbed dividers, both plain and printed; and a sheet of digital paper. I am using one of the digital papers in this bundle. 

After I printed the digital paper to the same size as the butterfly rosette die, I die cut the paper using the die. I folded the paper using the scored lines as a guide. I used a bone folder after each fold to make the fold lines crisp. 

I used a glitter and a holographic paper for the butterfly's body. I embellished the butterfly's body with gems. 

There are lots of uses for this butterfly rosette. It can be used to embellish a card, a gift, a mobile, a wreath, a flower bouquet...the possibilities are endless.

Stamped Thank you Card

 Greetings! Today I am excited to share this fun Thank You card I created that is suitable for anyone on your list - male or female! This card is so fun to create and has sooooo many possibilities.  Just change your ink colors and the whole card changes! Change the embossing folder and the whole card changes! So lets get creating. 

Supplies needed: 

• Blank Page Muse Heart of Nature Butterflies Bees Art Rubber Stamps designed by Donna Gray
• Blank Page Muse Fall Rubber Stamp Sheet Set by Pam Bray Designs
• Kraft Card Base
• Photo Paper
• Distress inks
• Embossing folder
• Archival ink (black)
• Enamel dot embellishments
• Brayer

Start with a 4 x 6 sheet of paper paper.  Using your brayer apply distress inks onto the photo paper.  You can see some of my brayer marks. Trust me its ok you want it to look "rough". Let ink dry.  

Choose your embossing folder and emboss your inked photo paper. 

User a blender add black distress ink over your embossed image. Just look at how that highlights your embossed image!

Attached your embossed photo paper to the left side of your Kraft Card Base. 

Create your background by using your desired colors of ink apply distress inks onto the photo paper with your brayer and let dry. 

Stamp your butterfly from the Heart of Nature Butterflies Bees  and the "Thanks"  from your  Fall Rubber Stamp   onto your stamping background. 

Adhere your stamped images as shown and finish off with some coordinating enamel dots.

How to Create a Stamped Collage Style Card

 Greetings!  Chris here and today I am excited to share this stamped collage style greeting card. 

This card features several of my favorite Blank Page Muse and I Brake for Stamps stamp sets.

Start by stamping your stamps repeatedly onto s script printed paper. 

I used a postage stamp punch to punch out my stamped images. 

Mat your punched stamped images onto cardstock or colored patterned paper so that they are slightly offset. 

Place your stamped images onto a piece of matted script paper and adhere to your card base. 

Finish off your card with a die cut hello added to a punched script paper postage stamp, and a jute bow.

Creative Ways of Using a Stencil

Hello! Welcome back to the BPM blog. Today's project is about how to extend the use of stencils. I also created a DIY stencil which might interest you. Best of all, while my craft supplies are out, I was able to create a bonus card. 

 

I am using several Blank Page Muse products on this card:

• Blocks Pattern stencil
  
• Butterfly Breezes clear stamp set
  
• You Make Me Happy clear stamp set

I used the stencil as follows:

1. I applied Deco Transfer Gel over the stencil for foiling.
2. I pounced Versamark ink over the stencil for embossing.
3. I traced the open areas of the stencil so I can color it with glitter and metallic pens.
4. I traced the open areas of the stencil and doodled some diagonal lines on it.
5. I used the stencil for embossing to add an impression on the gold vellum.

For the DIY stencil, I stamped extra two flowers on scrap cardstock. I fussy cut the flower on one of the stamped images, and I fussy cut the flower center saving this piece and both negative cuts. I used these pieces so I can blend the ink to the stamped flowers giving it a more softer look compared to flowers colored with markers.

Since I have a left over piece of the stenciled panel (which I did not want to put to waste), I cut this left over piece into several pieces to create a frame for another card.
