Mother's Day Card

Greetings!   Chris here today sharing this quick and easy Mother's Day Card!  For this card I chose one of my favorite Blank Page Muse Stamps - the Butterfly Mini patterned Art Rubber Stamp.
This stamp can be bought as a single stamp or as part of a Set.
This was my very first stamp set I ever bought from Blank Page Muse Stamps and is still one of my favorites.

I can't blame her I have been there myself! I think this card is perfect for all new (or just plain tired) moms out there. Let's get started with the fun!

Other Products Used:
Kraft cardstock
Colored Pencils
Dandelion Embossing folder
Art-C Glitter Pen

Directions:

Emboss kraft cardstock with dandelion embossing folder (I don't remember the maker. It was a freebie with magazine purchase) Place stamp on embossed card to judge placement.

Stamp 20 Winks Sleepy fairy onto embossed card.

I did minimal coloring on this stamp because I wanted the little fairy to be the star of the show.

Hand write sentiment with the same colored pencil used to color the image. I also added some detail around the edges of the card.

Use a glitter pen to add some sparkle to the card and that's it! She's ready to be sent to your favorite hard working mom!

I hope you enjoyed my card and as always use the links below to find more BPM goodness!

Mother's Day Art Decor with Matching Tag and Bag

Hello! Spring is finally on its way and I am looking forward to some warmer weather. While working on this project, I was thinking of Mother’s Day and how each year we get our moms flowers.

Flowers inspired this piece, prompting me to create 3 pieces that complement each other – a piece of wall art, a tag, and a matching bag all ready to give to Mom on her special day.

Supplies –
6” x 6” x 2” canvas art panel
Ranger Archival ink in Jet black
White bag with handles
Shipping tag
Painted papers
Acrylic paint and brushes
Inktense paint and water brush
Gem embellishments
Tacky glue
Stickles
Die cuts flowers and leaves
Die cutting machine

First of all, paint a bunch of papers using a gel plate and then die cut in as many shapes as you want, leaves and flowers, set them aside. I also lightly stamped the Correspondence Script stamp over several areas of the painted papers also for more texture.

Paint the canvas in your choice of colors that coordinate with the leaves and flowers you die cut. Set aside to dry. When the canvas is dry, use the Background Grunge, Correspondence Script and Hearty Doodles stamps with the Ranger Archival ink and stamp the canvas to give it some texture.

Next, stamp Phoebe on watercolor paper with Archival ink and heat set.  Using the Inktense water-soluble paints and a water brush, paint color on Phoebe to coordinate with the leaves and flowers.  Let dry.

Start assembling the flowers and leaves on the canvas. Position Phoebe on the canvas then start to fill in with the leaves and flowers. When you are happy with the arrangement, take a picture with your phone. Slide the leaves and flowers to the side along with Phoebe and glue down the leaves and flowers.

If you have left over flowers and leaves, you can tuck them in any bare spots you may have and then attach the gem embellishments and Stickles to the center of the flowers with tacky glue. Some items can be placed under the edges of Phoebe, when you have all of your flowers and leaves in place, use foam tape to attach Phoebe to the canvas.

NOTES –
1.       If you don’t have a die cutting machine, turn over the paper to the unpainted side, and draw some flower and leave shapes and cut out.
2.       If you don’t have a gel plate, just randomly smoosh ink or paint over your papers in several coordinating colors and let dry.
3.       Inktense paints or pencils are not water soluble when dry and if you don’t have any to use, water down your acrylic paint or use watercolors or markers.

To create the tag –
Using one of the painted pages, cut out a tag, stamp with Archival ink in black using Blank Page Muse stamps from the canvas project. Punch a hole in the top then using leftover leaves and flowers, glue them in place over the center of the tag.  Using an alphabet stamp set, stamp MOM along the bottom of the tag and add a piece of ribbon to the hole that you punched. Distress the edges of the tag with an ink pad.

For the bag –
Using the Blank Page Muse stamps from the canvas project, randomly stamp all over the front of the bag then using Distress ink pads, run them down the front of the bag for color. Glue several flowers and leaves to the front of the bag.

Mother's Day Card

Hello!
It's Karen here today.  I just love the versatility of this tree stamp. I have used it numerous times. Once I created an Autumn tree with multi-colored leaves and also for a Christmas card covered in lights.  I accepted the challenge to try to make one for Spring.  I hope you like my cherry blossom tree card for Mother's Day.

BPM Stamps:

(Shop now and save! Use code BPMDtKaren2019 to save %15 off your total order!)

Other Supplies:

  • Ink pads (brown / purple / dark pink)
  • Ink blending tool
  • Colored pencils
  • Mini flower punch
  • Pink card stock
  • Mini pearls
  • Sentiment
  • Clear mounting block
  • Card base (5x7")
  • Liquid adhesive

Directions:
1. Stamp the rose design randomly onto pink card stock making sure some roses overlap the edge of the card. Alternate using pink and purple ink to create the background.

2. Create a mask of the rose image and place it over the rose previously stamped onto the pink card. Stamp the flourish images to fill in the gaps between roses. To create added depth, some flourishes can overlap roses.

3. Use a sponge applicator to lightly apply ink to color the roses.

4. Stamp the tree image with brown ink onto white card stock. Use a brown colored pencil to add shading to the branches and details to the bark.

5. Punch small flowers from pink and white cardstock.

6. Place a flower into the pad of your palm and gently press the center of the flower with the tip of a pencil in order to curve the flower and give it realistic shaping. Draw a star design in the center of the white flowers to create the stamens.  Layer the white flower on top of the pink flower and adhere a pearl to the center of each flower.

7. Fussy cut the tree and embellish it with the small pink blossoms. Adhere the finished tree to the lower right corner of the card base.

8. Finally, add a sentiment to the upper right corner.
