Quick Idea - Using Small Stamps to Create Backgrounds

Hello, Kelly on the blog today with Blank Page Muse to create a background using a small stamp from a set. This is a quick tip so it was a fast and easy way to create a quick card and matching envelope!

Using the small rose from the Day of the Dead Sugar Skulls stamp set, 3 colors of Tombow markers, and the Versafine Cleair ink, you can create a quick background for a card.

Randomly stamp the image on the card base, color with your markers or colored pencils, and you are done! I love this card, it is one of my favorites.

To coordinate the envelope, stamp a single image on the front left side of the envelope and color.

Quick and Easy Birthday Card

Hello! Today I have a really quick tip for you using Blank Page Muse stamps to create a fast and easy birthday cards in 5 minutes or less!

Supplies

White card base
Archival ink in various colors

Talk about easy and fast! These cards were made in 5 minutes or less, I think it took more time to get out the supplies than it did to make the cards!

To make this quick card, get out several colors of ink and randomly stamp on to your card base. Start with the larger flower first stamping 2 - 3 flowers then using the smaller flower stamp, stamp it randomly around the larger flowers. When you are happy with the placement, ink up the Happy Birthday sentiment in black and stamp on the card.  You can emboss the sentiment or just leave it stamped in black. Two birthday cards in less than 5 minutes!

Hello Spring Card

Hello! Today, I am on the blog with Blank Page Muse creating a Hello Spring Card using scraps and a beautiful jack rabbit stamp.

Supplies -

scraps of patterned paper
black cardstock
white cardstock
pink cardstock

This quick card was made with the Jack Rabbit stamp and some scraps from my paper stash. I seem to have lots of scraps so I decided to make some cards. I also have a stash of stamped images to choose from that are colored and ready to go!

1. Cut down the black cardstock to fit the white card front then attach the pattern pieces to a white piece of cardstock and cut down to fit over the black cardstock.

2. Glue all of these pieces together and add the Jack Rabbit and the sentiment.

3. The quick use of scraps and pre-colored images makes this card come together quickly!

Urban Grunge Blending Technique

Hello! Kelly here with a quick tip on making a card using ink blending and stamping.

Supplies used -
Distress Oxide inks in 3 colors
Versamark Nocturne ink
White Cardstock

Start by ink blending your colors onto the white cardstock, I usually start with the lightest color working my way down the card to the darkest color.

After the ink is applied,, set aside to dry. When dry, using your fingers, sprinkle a bit of water over the front of the card and lay a paper towel on the card to blot the water. Next, using the black ink, ink the edges of the card and stamp the Urban Birds onto the front of the card.
This type of card with ink blending is fun to try different colors of inks and the cards come together quickly!

Ginkgo Journal Tuck Book

Hello friends, guest designer Kelly here today using the Ginkgo Leaf, and script stamp from the Correspondence stamp set to create this little book.

To make this book, I used a shipping tag folded in half then used inks and stamping on the background. Washi tape was added  with the stamped Ginkgo leaf and some ribbon.
Use an assortment of handmade papers for the inside page, then sew them all together.

Sunflowers Card

Hello Crafty Friends! Kelly here, guest designing on the blog featuring Blank Page Muse stamps today using the Butterfly Breezes stamp set.  This set has the flower, several sentiments, and some butterflies and it is a great set to use for all kinds of cards and artwork.

To start this slimline card, I cut my cardstock to size then decided on what two colors for backgrounds I wanted to use. I then stamped my sunflowers out and colored them with colored pencils. I then fussy cut them out and placed them down the side of the card (some of them are popped up with foam tape) and stamped the sentiment on the panel, then added some sequins.

Altered Book with Photo Stamps

Hello friends! Today, I am on the blog with Blank Page Muse and I have created an altered book using an old book and stamps along with paint, stencils, and papers.

Supplies used -

Several Sentiments stamps from Blank Page Muse
Old book
Handmade paper
Assorted papers
Stapler
Art Glitter Glue
Gesso
Paintbrush
Acrylic paint in various colors

First of all, you will need to prep the book. To start this process, I tear out every other page so that the spine is not overloaded with pages, then glue two pages together for a less tear-resistant surface to work on. Coat each page with gesso and let dry.

While the pages are drying, stamp the images onto a mix of papers. I generally just stamp out my images onto several colors of paper then I have them ready when I am working on building the pages.

After the pages are dry, paint them with acrylic paint in a variety of colors, let dry, then make some marks with tools such as a credit card, stamps, pens, etc. with a contrasting color of paint. Let this dry. While your pages are drying, look over your assorted images and papers and start to piece them together in layers for the book pages. These pieces can be stapled or glued together or even stitched on before placing them in the book.

Now that the pages are dry, using large stencils and white or black paint or your choice of color, stencil over the book pages.
For the orange page above, I used the Water Cloud Masks by taping them down with painter's tape. After the stenciled pages are dry, keep adding marks, splatters, dots, and more. At this stage, the pages are ready for the images and papers that are layered. You can use ink on the edges or a water-soluble pencil and draw along the edges for emphasis. Also, add any sentiments that you like at this point. Your book is now finished!

Here are the finished pages. Just remember that if you don't like a page or colors you used, just keep adding layers!

Here is the cover, it had been painted with acrylic paint then crackle medium then layered with acrylic paint again to create the crackle, then using archival ink on the edges along with a glaze of paint over the top.

Ginko Leaf Card Thinking About You

Hello crafty friends! Hope your day is going well, I am on the blog today with Blank Page Muse using the Ginkgo Leaf stamp, I love Ginkgo leaves! There are lots of different leaves on their website, check it out!

Supplies used -

White cardstock
Black cardstock
Gold embossing powder
Cosmic Shimmer
Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink

I love making CAS cards and this one was quick to put together! First of all, I cut my cardstock down for the card front. I then squirted some Cosmic Shimmer on my table and spritzed it with a little bit of water then dipped in my card, drying with a heat tool between layers of color. I like to dry my card to get the most of my color on the paper and to create some depth to the color.

I then set this aside to dry a bit more on its own or naturally. I then stamped my sentiment (my sentiment is from Blank Page Muse but it is one that I cut from other words. I have a tendency to cut my words up so they are more versatile) and embossed it with gold embossing powder. Then assemble the pieces and you have a card ready for that special someone on your list.

Lady and Lace ATC

Hello! Today I am on the blog with Blank Page Muse and an ATC (Artist Trading Card) that I created with their ATC sized stamps!

Supplies used -

White cardstock
Purple Cosmic Shimmer
Washi Tape
TCW Gold Modeling Paste
Old book page
Twine

Lots of how-to pictures on using Comic Shimmer check out my Flamingo Card using Blank Page Muse stamps

To start this card, I used Cosmic Shimmer on the table and dragged my cardstock through the colors several times, drying the card a bit before each drag through. I let this dry then glued it to another piece of cardstock for some stability. Then stamping the image of the Lady and Lace on the front of the card then trimmed it down to 2 1/2" by 3 1/2" and rounded the corners. I then tore some washi tape in several colors and add this to the bottom of the card along with a small piece of old book page.

I then used the Slimline Stars Stencil and taped off one of the stars and added it to the top right of the card with gold modeling paste and wrapped some twine around the bottom of the card.
