Christmas Pocket Card

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today using some amazing stamps and from Blank Page Muse.

Blank Page Muse Stamps: Expert Keeper of Magic, Village

Create a pennant shape from white cardstock.
Stamp the village along the bottom edge and ink the panel with brown ink.

Use a masking technique to mask off the sentiment as I only wanted to use a portion of it.

Mat the sentiment panel on red cardstock and add twine.
Place the pennant panel to the card front.
Add a strip of gemstones for a fun effect.

Thanks for stopping by.

Gnome for the Holidays: Christmas in July

Gnome for the Holidays: Christmas in July

Good day, fellow crafters. It's Tamara once again, with a new post showcasing my latest card created using  Blank Page Muse products!  I was having so much fun with their great flower-themed products that I decided to create with them again for this post.

A Gnome's tale: Deep in the enchanted groves where gnomes dwell, the tradition of Christmas—whether in snowy December or their quirky "Christmas in July"—holds a special place in their tiny, bearded hearts. According to gnome lore, their festive customs began when an ancient gnome tinker, Mr. Gribble Twinklegreen, stumbled upon a human Christmas celebration and returned with tales of twinkling lights and gift-giving. Since then, gnomes have woven these traditions into their own, crafting intricate ornaments from pinecones and river pebbles, and exchanging gifts like enchanted seeds or polished quartz under miniature fir trees. Their Christmas feasts feature foraged delicacies—think roasted chestnuts and elderberry tarts—served in communal burrows aglow with firefly lanterns. Every year, gnomes honor the season by singing carols in their high-pitched harmonies, a tradition said to summon good fortune, ensuring their forest homes brim with joy, whether blanketed in snow or bathed in summer’s warmth.

To create this project, you will need the following:
  • Expert Keeper of Magic Mr. Twinklegreen Winter Gnome CLEAR stamp from Blank Page Muse
  • White cardstock panel - 4.25" x 5.5"
  • Black cardstock panel - 4.25" x 5.5"
  • Red cardstock panel- 4.25" x 5.5"
  • Red A2 Card base
  • Alcohol Markers (I used Copic brand)
  • Clear block for mounting stamp or stamping platform
  • Black ink
  • Low-tack adhesive
  • Frame die (I chose scalloped one from my stash)
  • Scissors
  • Liquid glue
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Sentiment of choice
  • Die-cut machine

Process:

I wanted this card to feature Mr. Twinklegreen front and center, as I am a big fan of gnomes, so I am keeping this one simple.

  • Position and secure white cardstock in a stamping platform
  • Position the stamp, face down, on the cardstock, and then apply low-tack adhesive to the back so it adheres securely to the stamping platform.
  • Ink the stamp with black ink and then, with even pressure, stamp the image onto the white cardstock.  Repeat a couple of times to ensure even coverage.
  • Remove the stamped cardstock from the stamping platform but leave the stamp in place for a later step.
  • Use alcohol markers, colors of personal preference, to fill in the gnome image. I chose the traditional colors red and green, along with gray for the beard, black for the boots, and skin tone for the nose.
  • Re-position the panel into the stamping platform, re-ink, and then re-stamp once more to crisp up the lines of the image.
  • Position and adhere the sentiment in the stamping platform, ink, and stamp. Repeat as required.
  • Remove the panel from the stamping platform.
  • Using a scalloped die, a die machine, and the Black cardstock, cut the mat.
  • Using a paper trimmer, cut the focal image to the final dimension.
  • Adhere the focal image panel on the mat, and then the composite onto the Red cardstock panel using liquid glue.
  • Adhere the completed panel onto a White A2 card base.

The stamps I used can be found by following the links in the materials list, or you can find them with a quick search on www.blankpagemuse.com. Visit our social

Just Quickly Before We Say Goodbye to the Festive Season..........

 Hi BPM Fans!

Well another silly season is over with! And Welcome to the New Year - 2021 - can you believe it?

It is very unusual for me to be creating something in advance of Xmas for this year BUT this is just a super quick idea for you to be able to recycle some of the Xmas cards you received and save adding them to landfill or if you had leftover store bought cards! This is a great way to "jazz up" store bought cards!

Supplies:

Blank Page Muse Stamps: Joyful Gnome Set designed by Pam Bray
Store Bought Xmas Cards/Recycled Xmas Cards Received!
Black Ink Pad & Scrap Card plus Colouring Mediums
Base Cards if using Recycled Card Fronts - Not Required if you have left over Store Bought Cards
General: tape, glue, scissors, colouring mediums, washi tape

Instructions:

If recycling received cards cut off the card front and adhere to a card base. If you are using unused store bought cards you are ready to decorate!

Stamp your images onto white card with black ink, colour and fussy cut.

Add some strips of washi tape to the card front.

Add your stamped images along with any embellishments to the card front and adhere.

Such a quick way to make multiple cards ready for the end of this year!

Thanks so much for joining me for the first time in 2021!!!

Happy stamping!

Sharon

Gnome Snowflake Ornament

Hi everyone! It's me Tonya and  as you know this month it was all about ornaments here on the Blank Page Muse Blog! I want to share how I used the gnome from the Starbright Gnome Wintery Tree Let Your Light Shine Stamp Set to create this quick and easy ornament.

Supplies

Watercolor Paper
Various Inks and Watercolors
Watercolor Brush
Scissors
Snowflake Ornament
Diecut Machine
Scrap of Patterned Cardstock
Brenda Walton: Medallion Diecut (retired)
Tim Holtz: Holiday Greens Diecuts
Clear Glitter Glue
White Thread
Paper Poinsettia
Robin's Nest: White Dew Drop
Zip Dry Adhesive
MISTI Stamping Tool
Waterproof Black Ink

I placed the gnome stamp onto the MISTI Stamping Tool, inked with black waterproof ink and stamped onto a piece of watercolor paper.

I watercolored the image with an assortment of inks and watercolors and once dry I carefully fussy cut the gnome out.

I gathered a glitter snowflake ornament, a medallion I had made and was leftover from another project and the gnome image and adhered the medallion and the gnome to the ornament.

I used the Holiday Greens Diecuts and from the scraps of watercolor paper and cut out holly leaves and pine sprigs. I shaped and adhered underneath the gnome image along with loops of white thread and a paper poinsettia from my stash.

I finished by applying clear glitter glue to the stripes on the gnome's outfit and a white dew drop on the cap. And there you have it! If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Gnome for the Holidays Card

How about non-traditional colors for a holiday card? I am a cool colors girl for sure!

Check out these adorable stamps from Blank Page Muse!
This one is the Star Bright Gnome Wintery Tree.

Star by ink blending the sky with Broken China Distress inks on Cougar 80 lb. cardstock. The design started with the evergreen tree stamp and Evergreen Bough Distress Ink!
I double stamped the trees so the background trees are lighter, highlighting the central tree.

Check out this darling gnome!  I stamped him on Cougar cardstock and colored with Copics. I love the dimension in the beard by using different shades of grey. A little foam tape adds the dimension.

The final step was adding the sentiment and ink blending the yellow stars.

Be sure to check out this set as well as a great variety of red rubber stamps available from Blank Page Muse!

Gnome for the Holidays Ornament

I'm honored to be posting as a new member of the Design Team for Blank Page Muse!

Check out this cute Gnome ornament using recycled cereal box cardboard!

Non-traditional colors were calling me for this double sided ornament.  I started with the Star Bright Gnome Wintery Tree and Star Stencil set for this fun project!  I stamped the first tree with Distress Evergreen Bough ink.

I stamped the gnome twice, once backwards in order to have mirror images for both sides.  This was accomplished by stamping the image on a rubber gasket from the hardware store. A silicone  mat would work just as well! You need to be ready to cover the image with white cardstock as quickly as possible after stamping. Rub over the cardstock and pick up vertically.  Copics were used to create the color and textures.

I trimmed the first tree and glued onto a piece of cereal box. I am the Queen of recycled cereal boxes!  They are the perfect weight for ornaments and journal covers.  I glued blank white cardstock to the back and trimmed to the shape of the stamped tree. Once this was done, I stamped the second tree on the blank side. My trees needed some snow and ornaments, so I patted Distress Mat Medium on the trees and sprinkled Mike Flakes from Ranger on top. Once dry, I added purple Nuvo Drops as ornaments. (one side at a time due to drying time.  The final step was to add the cute gnome!

I cannot wait to add this cutie to our tree!

I hope you are inspired by this fun holiday post!

Let Your Light Shine!

Greetings BPM Fans! Did you know that gnomes are a symbol of good luck? Farmers still use them today to watch over livestock and crops. They place gnomes in the rafters of the barn or put them in their gardens. I just think they are so cute. Just check out this adorable one from Blank Page Muse called StarBright Gnome Wintery Tree Let Your Light Shine by Pam Bray. This stamp set comes with a 5" tree and the sentiment, Let Your Light Shine. I colored him in red and green colors for a winter card, but you can color him any color and add leaves on the trees for any occasion card or project.

I hope this card inspires you to enter the Blank Page Muse December Challenge, "Celebrate!" You can turn this card into one for any festive occasion.  This is a really fun card to make! Visit the BPM Blog for details.

I made this 6"x 6" card using distress inks for the background and added stars using the Stars template available at Blank Page Muse. To add the stars, I added glitter to texture paste, mixed it well, then used the stencil to add the stars. All the supplies and instructions to make this card are listed below. Give it a try!

Supplies:
  • Blank Page Muse stamps: Gnome Starbright set
  • Blank Page Muse stencil: Stars
  • White cardstock cut to 12"W x 6"H, scored at 6", folded in half. This is the base card.
  • Black cardstock cut to 5-7/8"W x 5-7/8"H for the mat.
  • White bristol or watercolor paper cut to 5-3/4"W x 5-3/4"H.
  • White cardstock for the sentiment
  • Black cardstock to mat the sentiment
  • Distress ink: Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Black Soot
  • Ink blending tools
  • Water & paint brush or water spritzer
  • Art Masking tape. I use Eclipse Art Masking Tape.
  • Black ink pad
  • White gel pen
  • Coloring medium of choice. I used Copic markers.
  • Transparent texture paste. I used Ranger Texture Paste/Transparent Gloss.
  • Silver glitter - fine or extra fine
  • Palette knife to apply texture paste
  • Paper trimmer
  • Scissors
Instructions:
  • Using the bristol or watercolor paper, stamp the gnome toward the bottom of the paper.
  • The gnome will need to be masked so that when the tree is stamped, a few of the branches will appear to be behind the gnome. Place a small piece of masking paper onto bond paper and stamp the gnome. Using scissors, cut out the gnome.

For this card, a snow scene will be created so a mask needs to be created. Using a 6"W x 3"H piece of masking tape, place it on a piece of bond paper. Draw the snow across the masking tape then cut using scissors.

  • Color the gnome with your favorite coloring medium
  • After coloring the gnome, adhere the gnome and snow masks

  • Using your blending tool and distress inks, ink blend the sky. use the lighter colors towards the gnome and darker colors towards the edges and corners.

  • Spritz water onto the sky area making sure there are some "stars" of different sizes.
  • Remove the snow mask, but leave the one on the gnome in tact.
  • Stamp the tree close to the left edge. It's ok to have branches off the page.
  • To add the big silver stars in the sky, first mix the glitter into the texture paste.

  • Tape the stencil onto the card then use the palette knife to spread a thin layer of texture paste. Lift off the stencil carefully. Let dry until before adding the big star.

  • After adding the texture paste for the big star, ensure it is dry before moving onto the next step. A hair dry or heat gun can be used to speed up the drying process.
  • Remove the mask from the gnome.
  • Using your coloring medium of choice, draw and color some snow drifts.

  • Stamp the sentiment, trim to size. Cut a mat using black cardstock.

  • Adhere the mat and sentiment to the card front.
  • Adhere the card front to the black mat.
  • Adhere the black mat onto the base card.
  • Using a white gel pen, add a few snowflakes in the sky and on the tree. the card is complete!

This would make a cute Christmas card by adding some ornaments on the tree too, but I kept it a winter card for a friend.

I hope you give this card a try! I appreciate you stopping by today. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below. ~Betty~
