Gather your supplies needed for the Pirate! Map

Test layout with stamps on the rice paper

Stamp final design on the rice paper

Crumple up map, spritz with water and dry to give it an aged feel.

Begin coloring stamped images with alcohol markers and color in a few "islands" with distress ink. Tear and ink edges to give it an old, worn feeling. Close ups of the various areas below.

Use water color to paint the water. I love how transparent the water on rice paper looks! That being said rice paper was kinda a pain to work on with the alcohol markers...bleedy but in the end I love the overall project.

I added a few extra details such as dry brushing metallic bronze paint over the surface and drew in some details on the islands. I hope you enjoyed this pirates booty filled project as much as I enjoyed creating it!
