A Trio of Snowmen

Happy Holidays! Today I have created 3 ornaments for Blank Page Muse this month. I love making ornaments and they make great gifts when visitors stop by around the holidays.

Supplies

Metal Tree ornament
Stickles
Shrink Plastic
Paper Mache round ornament shape
Dimensional Texture paint

I like using found items and recycling them or using items and dressing them up. I bought this metal tree ornament a while ago and found it when I was looking through my Christmas box. I used the Snowman image from the Snowman Snowglobe and cut him down then glued him to the tree. I then used Stickles for some sparkle.

This next ornament was made with Shrink Plastic.
Here is a quick tip to use the Inkjet Shrink Plastic and resizing images for ornaments.

This ornament is on a paper mache round base, I covered the base with texture paint for a snowy look than when it was almost dry, I liberally applied glue and placed the snowman on the ornament.

Ornaments are so fun to make and make great gifts for any time during the holiday season!

Wood Slice Christmas Ornaments

Hello! Glad you came by the Blank Page Muse Blog today. Kelly has some wood slice ornaments to show you and they are super cute and quick to make! They can be used on packages like a tag or ornament.

Country Vintage Christmas stamp set by Pam Bray was used to create these ornaments along with Tombow markers, Stickles, white gel pen, VersaFine Clair Ink, ribbon, and bakers twine.

Using the dove, Santa, and snowman stamps and VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne, stamp the images directly on the wood slice.

Then using the Tombow markers and white gel pen, color the images in your choice of colors.

When you are finished coloring the images, use the Stickles add glitter to the ornaments then drill a hole in the top of each ornament and add the ribbon or twine.

These make great teacher gifts too!!

Snowman Ornament

Hello! So glad you stopped by the Blank Page Muse Blog today. I have an upcycled project for you using some small wedding frames I found at the thrift store. I don't know about you but I like to find items thrifting and see what I can make with them.

I found these little frames in a wedding kit with the paper and all kinds of things to make invitations. I put those little frames in my embellishment box and there they sat, then I had an idea...

Using the snowman from the Country Vintage Christmas stamp set by Pam Bray, I stamped the snowman on the little pieces of cardstock that came in the wedding kit. I then used Tombow markers to color the snowman and added some Stickles for sparkle and snow.

After creating this first image on the cardstock, I decided I didn't like how thin the paper was and cut watercolor paper to fit the frame and did the image again on this substrate.

Next, using alcohol inks, color the white plastic frame. Squirt a drop or two out onto your workspace and rub the color on the frame with your finger. The frame is already a bit pearlescent creating a high shine to the piece.

Now that the image is dry, you can glue it to the frame and glue bakers twine to the paper on the back. You now have a cute upcycled snowman ornament that can be used for a package or the tree!!

Christmas Banner

Hello! So glad you stopped by the Blank Page Muse Blog today to see the Christmas Banner by Kelly. This fun and festive banner can be used for the entire holiday season and beyond!!

What do you do with all those leftover colored images? Make a banner for the holiday season!!

The banner is made with several stamps from the Country Vintage Christmas stamp set by Pam Bray, watercolor pencils, some string. Other tools you will need include a hole punch, brush, Stickles, and some water.

To start this project, you will need to stamp 3 presents, 2 stockings and 2 snowmen globes from the Country Vintage Christmas stamp set. You will then color them with your choice of medium, I used watercolors. Let them dry and add Stickles to all of the pieces, set aside.

Next, cut out all of the pieces, when you are cutting out the snowglobes, just continue around the globe for a round shape.

Now you will need to decide where to punch two 1/8" holes in each piece for the string to hold them. Line up the pieces in the order that you want them to be on your banner.

Using red and white bakers twine, thread it through each hole from the front so that the string is across the back of the stamped image. The holes are small so you do not need to tie the images in place.

Finished piece is about 30 inches long and can be hung on a small tree, across a fireplace mantle, or anywhere you would like to hang your finished banner!!

Step 1:  Stamp image of snowman on white card stock.

Step 3: Cut a layer out of Christmas paper card stock. Layer the printed paper onto a craft paper layer.

Step 4: Layer the ticket layer onto a craft card stock layer.

Step 5:  Using foam tape, layer the snowman/craft card stock layer onto the Christmas print/craft card stock layer.

Step 6  Stamp and emboss in white on a red banner the sentiment from the stamp set.
