Our Private Zoo

Hello from design team member, Heidi!  I would like to share this card that I am going to give to my husband for our anniversary.  I LOVE the image, so beautifully drawn!  But one of the sentiments in this set, “Our Private Zoo” struck me as a funny way to describe the often crazy times that a couple goes through with marriage and parenting and even pets.  I think DH is going to get a kick out if it! (As an aside, he always gets me a super sappy card, but knows that I have a weird sense of humor!)

The background was easily accomplished with a Multi color Kaleidacolor Inkpad in Creole Spice brayered over glossy cardstock.  I love the way glossy cardstock looks but every time I forget that it is harder to photograph!  I think I got it okay this time.  I stamped the GORGEOUS safari scene over top with Archival Ink and then just added the sentiment.  There was no need to overdo this card, I think it is perfect in its simple form.

This stamp set is called Wildlife Rubber Stamp set and it can be found in the Blank Page Muse store.

I really hope you are having a good day!

Wildlife Silhouette

This month the design team was challenged to create projects with a nature theme.  What's screams nature more than this gorgeous wildlife scene? I have had the Wildlife Zebra Lion Giraffe Elephant Collage Scene Rubber Stamp for a little while just waiting to be played with.

This month's theme was a perfect excuse to break it out and play!

Blank Page Muse Supplies needed include:

Other supplies include: Watercolor paper, grey archival ink, distress inks, water brush , card stock, sentiment sticker

Add distress inks in sunset/sunrise colors throughout the background. I created a large round focal point to serve as my sun.

Stamp your Wildlife Zebra Lion Giraffe Elephant Collage Scene Rubber Stamp  onto the BACK SIDE of a piece a water color paper. The front side is more textured and if you stamp the front side a stamp this detail will look broken as you can see below.

Stamping on the back side will make blending the inks a little less easy but look at the image below!

Using distress inks and a water brush color your wildlife as desired.

Mat your finished image onto black and then again on Kraft card stock.  Tie a jute bow around matted stamped image and add to your card base.  Finish by adding a sticker sentiment.

Our Private Zoo

Hey, there!  It’s Robin Redd (a.k.a. RockinReddRobin!)

Today I’m sharing an envelope book used with the Envelope Template from Green Sneakers
in which Sin City Stamps is teaming up with this month.
http://www.greensneakers.com/

I made 12 envelopes using 12 different sheets of paper, each one representing each month of the year.
I made an accordion fold 6” in height, the same length of the envelope, by 12” from a piece of cardstock.  I scored a line every ½” and fan folded the paper.
I adhered the bottom, front of each envelope to the same side of the fan fold
until all folds were filled with envelopes.

I made a front and back cover by covering a piece of chipboard, ¼” larger than the envelopes.
I taped a long piece of ribbon into the cover.  This will help bind the book and keep it closed.
I adhered the covers onto the outermost piece of the fan fold.
Here is the binding, showing the fan folded paper and the ribbon.

I stamped, “Our Private Zoo” from the Wildlife stamp set, onto the front of the book.
I will keep pictures of my cat and many dogs in here.
I folded back the top of the envelope.  Since the paper I used was double sided,
I wanted to be able to see both the outside and the inside of the envelope.

I will slip 4 x 6 pictures and/or scrapbook pages into the envelopes.

I hope I have inspired you to create something today.

Until next time…

Stuff THIS Envelope!

Hey, there!  This is Robin Redd, (a.k.a. RockinReddRobin!)

I’m here to share with you the Envelope Template from Green Sneakers.

I made a few different ones so you can see some versatility you can get from using the template,
this, along with all the other Sin City Stamps Design Team member’s ideas.
I used a square paper doily for my first sample.
This, just so happen to be the same exact size as the template
so I didn’t have to trim it down to size.
I placed the center piece of the template down and folded in the sides.
Don’t you love this elegant look?!

I made a pretty “Love” card to go inside using the stamp from the Wildlife stamp set.
I used black embossing powder for the word, Love.
This is an old trick I’ve used for years.
Normally, I would pick a pretty picture from a magazine,
line a seascape or garden scape and make an envelope.
But I found these large images make a striking statement on your envelope.

I used a piece of a Project Life card for an address label.  Any blank label will work.
Here is another envelope with the large image from a magazine.
I’m centering the portion of the ad that I want on the front of the envelope.

 I love this one, too.
I used a piece of sketch paper from a sketch pad,
torn out the envelope and dry embossed the flap of the envelope.

You can cut out the envelope,
but I like the way Green Sneakers shows how the template is made to use with NO scissors.

The torn edges really add elegance to this envelope.
Watch the Green Sneakers video to see
how we make these envelopes with no scissors.  Pretty tricky!
With this envelope, I used a page from a large book.
I stamped the wild life scene from the Wildlife stamp set.
I colored the stamped image in with Prisma Color Colored Pencils.
I framed it with a white Sharpee pen.

I hope I’ve inspired you to create something today!

Until next time…

Project Life with Sin City Stamps!

Hey there!  It’s RobinRedd (a.k.a. RockinReddRobin)!

I’m here to share with you a Project Life layout I made this week using Sin City Stamps
and Ecstasy Crafts, whom we are teaming up with this month.

I enjoy Project Life, however,
I will probably just finish the year I started working with it, 2013 and that’s pretty much it.
I’m so far behind with that year.
I have plenty of Project Life layouts that still need to be completed.
I love this little peacock feather stamp from the Wildlife stamp set.
I stamped it with one color, then added color to the center top portion with markers.
And who doesn’t love Pearl Dot Embellishments!   I used the
Decorative Pearls Dark Red from Ecstasy Crafts.
So simple to add to any project and makes such an impression.
Speaking of impressions....keep in mind you can use embossing folders in your Project Life layout.  So quick and simple and makes a very unique card on your layout.  I used the Flower Border 1 embossing folder from Ecstasy Crafts. Since the cardstock had a white core, I sanded over the embossing to make the image “pop” more.  I love the results.

I hope I’ve inspired you to create something today.

Until next time…
