Hello! Welcome to the BPM blog. After taking a break on adding pages to my art journal, I am back. Today's page is very easy to recreate.
The Blank Page Muse products I used on my page are:
After I chose the quotation that I will add to my art journal, I planned the layout of the quotation on the page. I laid the stencil on the page. I started tracing on the letter that is on the center of the line. I lightly traced this letter and moved the stencil to position the next letter to the traced letter. I kept doing this until I completed the quotation.
This is how it looks like after all the tracing. Some of the letters does not have the inner opening. I just freely drew this.
Using a .7 black gel pen, I wrote over the pencil lines of the letters. You can skip this and directly trace the letters on the stencil using the gel pen instead. I just thought of doing this just in case I mess up with the tracing, I still have some leeway since I used pencil.
This is how it looks after writing over the pencil lines.
I set the journal aside to allow the gel pen to dry. I am not sure how quick the paper on my journal absorbs the ink. I don't want to smear any of the ink after all that hard work. I erased the pencil marks after allowing the pen ink to dry.
I doodled on the letters using a dark gray ink to add some character to the letters.
This is how the letters look like after adding the squigly lines. Lots of opportunities to add design to these letters. You can color it and doodle on it after. You can do a negative coloring technique in which you color the outside of the letters and keep the letters uncolored. You can also add shadows. There are a lot of ways to jazz up these letters.
I added washable ink to the back of the watch rubber stamp to adhere it to the clear acrylic block.
I stamped the watch on the journal page using metallic pigment inks and interference inks. I kept the page simple so the focus will be on the quotation.
I wrote the name of the author of the quote on the bottom of the page.
I hope you like today's project. As I have mentioned at the beginning of this post, this is page is very easy to do. I hope you give it a try.
