Chasing Rainbows and Blooming Joy
Good day, fellow crafters. It's Tamara once again, with a new post where I will be showcasing my latest card created using Blank Page Muse products! This month the design team is focusing on floral cards so I hope you enjoy.
Rainbows and flowers make a perfect pairing for greeting card designs, offering a sense of joy, beauty, and renewal. Rainbows symbolize hope and promise after a storm, while flowers represent growth and natural elegance. Combined together they make a great background for an uplifting message like the sentiment I used on this project.
To create this project, you will need the following:
- Etched Stone Flower stamp from Blank Page Muse
- White cardstock panel - 4.25" x 5.5"
- Black cardstock - sentiment
- White A2 Card base
- Anti-static powder
- Clear embossing ink
- White embossing powder
- Heat tool
- Microfiber towel
- Ink Blending brush
- Inks in Red, Yellow, and Blue
- Scissors
- Clear block for mounting stamp
- Low-tack adhesive
- Liquid glue
- Paper Trimmer
- Die cutting machine
- Sentiment label die
- Sentiment of choice (I chose an uplifting one from my stash)
Process
- Secure the Etched Stone Flower stamp to the clear block with low-tack adhesive.
- Using anti-static powder, mine is in a powder bag, dust the white cardstock panel.
- Apply the clear embossing ink to the stamp using a pouncing method so to not oversaturate the stamp with ink.
- Stamp the image onto the card panel, some on and some off the page. Place as many as you want, but the human brain does like odd numbers, in my case I have seven.
- Apply the white embossing powder over the stamped images while they are still wet.
- Heat set the embossing powder.
- Use the colored inks and an ink blending brush to apply the colors to the background panel. Make sure to blend the edges of the colors together to get the other rainbow colors like Green, Orange, and Purple
- Using the microfiber towel, wipe off the excess ink from the embossed flowers.
- Just to make the flowers pop a little more, I used the heat tool over the flowers one more time but that is optional.
- Using the Black cardstock, label die, and a die cutting machine, cut out the sentiment label.
- Using the sentiment stamp of your choice and the clear embossing ink, ink and stamp the sentiment onto the label.
- Use White embossing powder over the stamped sentiment and the heat tool to set the powder.
- Adhere the sentiment label to the background panel with liquid glue.
- Adhere the background panel to the A2 card base.
