Hello! Welcome back to the BPM blog. In behalf of the BPM DT, let me greet you a very Merry Christmas! May you find yourself surrounded by moments that remind you how loved you are. With you being here on the blog, we can feel the love. And for that, we are grateful for you.
Back to the project, the Christmas stocking is from the Blank Page Muse Country Vintage Christmas Rubber Art Stamps Set Sheet.
I prepped for embossing a gold vellum sheet with an anti-static powder tool. This prevents the embossing powder from clinging somewhere else other than the sticky embossing ink.
I adhered the rubber stamps to an acrylic block using a washable glue stick. I inked these stamps with an embossing ink.
I stamped the stockings on the gold vellum.
I poured embossing powder over the sticky ink.
I melted the embossing powder with a heat gun. I usually start heating the back...
...then moving to the front. I continuously move the heat gun to prevent any warping. I stamped 5 stockings to complete my card design.
I fussy cut the stockings.
I partially inked the stockings, mostly on the trim part of the stockings, with the same embossing ink. I stamped this on a pearl white cardstock.
I poured a puffy embossing powder over the sticky ink then heat set it until the powder was melted.
I fussy cut the trim.
I adhered small strips of double adhesive tape on the top corner of the stocking.
I adhered a loop of gold embroidery floss to this tape. I secure it by applying another piece of double adhesive tape over it.
I adhered the cut up trim to the gold embossed stocking.
This is how the cut up stocking looks.
I die cut a panel on a light blue shiny cardstock. I used a die with a stitching edge for an added detail. I die cut a cream cardstock using a curve die. After I die cut the curve on the cardstock, I lined the die to the curved die cut. I die cut this again to create the curved strip. I threaded the loops to this strip.
After I arranged the stockings on the panel, to maintain its arrangement, I used a Glad Press 'N Seal to lift the stockings off the cardstock panel.
I removed the backing of the double adhesive tape.
I added dots of glue to the strip and the stockings.
I used the Press 'N Seal to position the arrangement back to the cardstock panel. Since I used liquid glue, it allowed me some wiggle time to fix the stockings. I placed something heavy over it while the glue dried.
I used an alphabet die set to cut up the sentiment. I die cut this on a metallic black paper. I die cut the letters twice and stacked it for some dimension. I adhered the letters on top of the curved strip, I splatterd white paint over the panel.
I hope you like today's project.
