Good Morning! I can hardly believe that February has come and gone! Today I have a fun friendship card to share. A little Brushos, a little inking, and a little stamping & embossing. Once I saw the adorable Mr. G stamp, I remembered a cute little saying from a flair pin I used to have, and was inspired to turn it into a card.
Start with a piece of watercolor cardstock, cut down to 4"x5.25". Using Versamark and white embossing powder, stamp Mr. G and emboss him.
Embossing never gets old to me. It was one of the first techniques I learned, way back when... and I still think it is magic every time I emboss and see the powder melt.
Early this month, I made mention of Brushos and how I was learning to use them. Well, I took the plunge with this card.
Start by sprinkling a little bit of the Brusho powder on your dry card. You can use any color combination, but here, we are using Yellow, Red, & Orange.
Then, using a mister bottle, mist the powder and watch the magic of Brushos happen.
The powder immediately reacts with the water. Continue to slowly add a few more shakes of the powder and water until you are happy with the results.
The embossed Mr. G resisted the color and now he pops off the card! From here, use Distress Inks - Black Soot, to ink up the edge of your card. Ink up a scalloped circle for the sentiment, and using some glitter markers, color in Mr. G to give him a little flair... after all, Giraffes are cool! Adhere your masterpiece to a card, and finish writing the sentiment inside the card.
You now have a fun card with Mr. G to send to your friends to bring a smile to their face!
If you do not have Brushos, any watercolor medium will work to achieve the watercolor wash background. ...and you can get Mr. G HERE. He comes with a cute heart stencil and sentiment.
