I loved creating the cover to this small art journal. I don't usually create small, but I said on this book, I wanted to concentrate on texture and details! I did just that with the Art Journaling stamp set by Terri Sproul.
I began with a blank page I took some torn patterned papers and added not only and implied texture by the pattern, but also a visual texture because the paper was thick. I adhered it to the page with matte medium from the Deco Art Media line. I also added a piece of mesh I had sitting on my desk for texture with a little Whipped Spackle, which is a heavy gesso thats light and fluffy.
I then applied the Dylusions paint with my finger to the page rather freely, I love getting my hands all full of color! I stenciled through some punchinella with even more paint with my finger.
Then I inked my stamps up with some Ranger Archival Ink and randomly stamped on the page. Decided i wanted the word JOURNAL to protrude, so I stamped it on a painted piece of scrap corruagted board and adhered it to the cover page with my trust Helmar 450! I then also took my Pilot Permaball and added some extra line details and tada!
I love the opportunity the stamps set gives you to play and add details to even the most texturous of projects! I hope you decide to grab one and don't just take my word for it, play with it.. and see how often it easily becomes one of your favorite go to stamps sets!
