Hello Sin City Fans!
Well it's Winter here so in Australia so my creation today is to add some brightness to the day and make it feel more like Spring!!!
I've used a great set of stamps and some sweet smelling soaps - a perfect gift idea or to brighten your own bathroom!!
Hope you enjoy these - minimal supplies required and they are fairly quick to create!
Supplies:
Sin City Stamp Set: Flower and Bird Sketches
Black Archival Ink
White Tissue Paper
Colouring Medium ie. markers or pencils
White Handmade Soap
General supplies: scissors, mod podge, paint brush, ribbon, raffia, cello bags etc.
Instructions:
1. Prepare your images for "decorating" the cakes of soap. Using the black archival ink stamp your chosen images onto the white tissue paper. It's a great idea to stamp lots of images at once so if you are making gifts you can get a "production line" going and complete a number of soaps whilst you have all your supplies out!
2. Once the images are stamped you can color them with your choice of coloring medium. Remember that that the tissue paper is fragile! Once your images are colored they can be fussy cut leaving a small white border around them.
3. Next step is to get the Mod Podge or Decoupage Finish and paintbrush to adhere the stamped images to the soap face. Handmade soap works well because they tend to be nice and flat and plain - good for adhering the image. Add a layer of mod podge to the soap and carefully lay the image on top. Smooth out very carefully!! Allow this layer to dry and then add a layer over the top. Repeat with another layer. Allow it all to dry.
4. Add a ribbon, lace or twine around the soap and tie in a bow to decorate or put in a little cello bag and tie with a ribbon.
Thanks for joining me today - hope you decide to try these out for yourself!
