Watercolor Journal Page with Tamiko

Hey TGIF folks..  Today I just have a quickie journal page.  I was practicing with some Splash Ink water colors and my Big Bloom Stamps by Daniella Hayes found at the Sin City Stamps site.  By the way, did YOU know you buy these stamps individually??  Of course it's a better deal to buy the stamp plate, but if you only like bits, you can buy the bits you like as well!!  How cool is that???

It's been very and sometimes you get a little tired and you just want to create for your own personal journals with minimal supplies. Today for you I created this page.

for the life of me I couldn't get this picture to clear up.  It reads:
Like wildflowers you must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.

Not much to show you.. I used the inks/liquid water colors on some very thick water color paper (140lb), in the Strathesmore 400 Series Watercolor Journal. I wet the page with water, from a spray bottle.  Moved some colors around as much as I could.  Got flustered  but kept going. Sometimes being able to stamp pretty things, like these flowers are a awesome extra detail to any colored journal page and I knew I would need this for this one.  I then added a little bit of Grumbacher's Academy unbleached titanium white with the watercolors and created more of a gouache (a more opaque watercolor).  I stamped my blossoms and went around the edges of my page with the violet extra soft pastel.  After playing with just a few supplies from my travel kit, a page was created. Quick and easy summer page and a quote I grabbed from one of my boards on pinterest that spoke to me.

Supplies used to create this page:

Sin City Stamp- Big Blossoms by Daniella Hayes
Archival Inkpad- jet black
Grunabacher Academy Acrylic
Koh- I- Noor Soft Pastel- Violet
Faber Castell Big Brush Pitt Pen (violet)
Tim Holtz Stencil
