Dare To be Different Journal Page

Hello There!
Today I would like to share this Journal page with you.
It was made using a variety of Sin City Stamps!

This Journal page was so much fun!
The Sin City Stamps used here are (butterfly) Love of Butterflies Collection and the sentiments are from the Inhale Exhale collection.
Head over to Sin City Stamps to get these and so many others!!

Art Journaling is a great way to be messy with your Art.
There are endless possibilities and no right or wrong way to do it!
For this page, a basic background was created by picking up ink from a craft sheet that was sprayed with water lightly.
Random stamping of butterflies was done using black archival ink.
*Tip for stamping...Apply a generous amount of ink to your stamp and continue stamping until it is all used. This will give you that "fade-out" effect you see here.

Apply spray ink in colors of your choice both alone, and through stencils.
*Tip for background...when using stencils, turn the stencil over to the reverse and lay on your page. Then lightly spray with water and blot dry with towel or paper towel.
This is another way to get that "shadowed" look as in the white circles above.

Once you have completed stamping and stenciling, go back over some things by outlining with a white gel pen to enhance.
Splatter a bit of white acrylic paint.
For the outline of this page a journal block was used to create the wavy lines all around the outside of pages.
A texture stamp was then stamped in black in the empty spaces.
The lines were enhanced using a black watercolor pencil and then a white marker.
I hope you enjoyed this page and it has inspired you to get some stamps, stencils and inks and create!!

How to create Mixed Media ATCs with Nautical Stamps

Hello crafty friends

I have made up a few ATCs using the Nautical Stamp Set by SinCity Stamps.

Products used:

1) Dab the green and blue paints onto the ATC blanks.

2) Using the Journal Stamp Set, Stamp some texture over the ATCs  using the paints.

3) Use a stencil to apply modeling paste to background and leave to dry.

4)  Use the Nautical Stamp Set and stamp the octopus and shells onto white card and color in.

5) Adhere the images to the ATC and decorate with shells.

6) Use drywall tape for this background and color with metallic paints.

7) Use a stencil to apply modeling paste to background and leave to dry before using metallic paints over the top.

8)  Use the Nautical Stamp Set and stamp the diver's helmet on to white card with embossing ink. Next sprinkle over copper embossing powder and heat to set.

9) Color in with spray ink and a paint brush.

10) Place the netting in the corner and add the crab.

11) Decorate with small shells

12) Create the ATC background with your paints.

13) Apply a stencil over the whole ATC using modeling paste and leave to dry.

14) Brush metallic paints over the raised design of the background and then stamp over the surface using the textures from the journaling set.

15) Stamp out the bottles from the Nautical Stamp Set onto cardstock and color with markers.
Use foam tape to attach these to the ATC and add a sentiment to finish.
