Silhouette Stamp with Acrylic Markers

Hello! Welcome back to the BPM blog. For this month, I will be sharing ways on how to use the Blank Page Muse Wildflower Silhouette Border Style Red Rubber Stamp

I trimmed a black watercolor paper at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". I used acrylic markers.

I lightly drew a pencil mark on the watercolor paper so I would know where to apply the colors.

I used three marker colors, creating an ombre effect. I made sure that the colors are overlapping.

I used a waterbrush to blend the inks where the colors meet.

I dried the ink with a heat gun which is very important before proceeding to the next step.

I applied washable glue to the back of the red rubber stamp to adhere the stamp to the stamping tool.

With the rubber stamp adhered to the stamping tool, I inked the stamp with a dye ink then stamped this on a plastic film. I slipped the painted watercolor under the plastic film. I moved the watercolor paper until it is on a spot that I want the flowers to be stamped on.

Once I am sure of the placement, I secured the watercolor paper with less tacky tape on the stamping tool. I inked the red rubber stamp with pigment ink.

I pressed the red rubber stamp to the watercolor paper. I used a stamping tool to add even pressure to the inked red rubber stamp.

With the watercolor paper having some texture, I had to restamp the floral image three times.

I heat set the image to dry the black pigment ink.

I trimmed the watercolored panel into 5 1/4" x 4" using a stitched die. I also die cut a frame on white cardstock. For the outer matte, I die cut a black cardstock with a woodgrain frame die. I adhered these to a light weight paper cut a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

I die cut the sentiment on a black mirror cardstock and created this into a strip. I colored a black watercolor paper scrap with the light green acrylic marker I used on the background. I adhered this to the back of the sentiment strip. The color now shows through the holes created by the die.

This is a very easy card to put together. The acrylic markers is very opaque. It allowed stamping the image on it. If you don't have acrylic markers or paint, oxide inks and pigment inks can also work for this technique.

I hope you like today's project.

Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!
