A true friend...

For my project today, I combined the Chicken Wire stencil and the Natural Beauty Plate of Rubber stamp to create a summertime shabby chic card birthday card.

First thing I did was to create my background by taping down my stencil to a piece of scrap paper. Then I held my Core-dinations card stock over it and sanded it so that the design of the Chicken Wire stencil would show through. Then I added the same card stock but flipped over to the reverse side and lightly sanded the edges and glued everything together to create the base and matting for my card.

Next I stamped the flower that comes from the Natural Beauty Plate of Rubber collection onto a piece of yellow card stock and colored it in with my LuminArtes, using the colors: Lemongrass,Rain Forest, Orange Peel, and Mandrian Citrine. I took my scissors and scuffed up the edges to the card stock for a shabby chic look.

After adhering the last layer I used my Tombow marker 969 to create some faux stitching around the edges of the design.

I also added a printed out sentiment from my computer to complete the card.( Arial font, size 16 )

Thanks for stopping by!
