Mixed Media Canvas Journal Cover

Hello, Peggy here to show yow how I used Sin City Stamp to create this canvas journal cover.
Supplies used today:
I started with a cheap, not so pretty, dollar store book and painted it with black gesso.

Next I used a left over piece of canvas (approx.4x4) and frayed the edges. Then I took out my Faber Castel gelatos and randomly placed several colors, purple blue, green and yellow down and used my finger to blend and move the colors. I took out some of my favorite stamps and sparingly stamped in black Stazon. I used partial stamping meaning I rolled my unmounted stamps to give me a partial image.
I also used white gesso with my stamps. I used my finger to apply the gesso so I could control how much ended up on the stamp. Too much would result in an unclear image. I immediately placed stamps in water after use to ensure it would not ruin my stamps.

Next I desided to add some texture with molding paste and stencils. Then it was time to add some bright colors. I used red, yellow and teal and placed vertical and horizontal lines and dots of color. I wanted some black to pop as well so I used a cap from a bottle to make circles.

I stamped the word Journal in versa mark ink and I used black embossing powder. I heat to set and cut out my letters.

Finally I layered my canvas with some matching cardstock and adhered all layers including letter placement.

Thank you for joining me and be sure to checkout Sin City Stamps for all your stamps, chipboard, stencils and more...
