Celebrate Family Card

Hello Crafty Friends,
Karen here with today's project.  I am sharing a Fall/Autumn themed card appropriate for Thanksgiving.  It has a slightly masculine look and could be given as a pick me up card for someone special who may be having a difficult time.  Here is my card...Celebrate Family!

Stamps:
Woodgrain Background Rubber Stamp
Fall Bare Tree Background Art Rubber Stamp

Other Supplies:
  • brown ink pad
  • orange cardstock
  • pattern paper (plaid & woodgrain)
  • sentiment stickers
  • clear stamp block
  • 3-dimensional paint
  • card base (5x7")
 Directions:
1. Use brown ink to make two impressions of the woodgrain design onto white cardstock with out re-inking the stamp. (FYI: the middle impression is not used in this project but just shown for a comparison of the 1st and 2nd generation stamping technique)
2. Take the 2nd generation print (the lighter image on the right) and then stamp the bare tree directly over the background woodgrain design.
3. Matte the stamped image with orange cardstock.
4. Adhere a piece of plaid cardstock to a red card base leaving a narrow border.
5. Attach a strip of woodgrain cardstock along the left edge and then adhere the stamped image overlapping it.
6. Next, add a simple sentiment sticker to the lower left side of the card.

7.  Finally, used dimensional paint to add leaves to the tree in autumn colors.  (rust, gold, & copper)

Christmas Tag

Sisal tree (789x800)
Sin City Stamps has a great set of background texture stamps called Knock on Wood.  One of the images is a woodgrain texture, and it is perfect for making tags for my new Christmas tree decorations.

This is an easy way to make special tags for Christmas gifts or for embellishing decorations.

Here’s what you need:
Sin City Stamps Knock on Wood
#5 manila tag
Distress Inks in Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain
Embossing Ink (I used a VersaMark Watermark Stamp Pad)
Embossing Powder (I used Comotion Red)
Ribbon or twine (I used hand dyed seam binding)
