Hello everyone, Astrid here from the UK and I would like to start by wishing you all the most wonderful, peaceful and fulfilled Holiday Season!!

Today I am sharing a cover I made for a mini book that is going to contain photos of our family Christmas. My grand daughter is over from Australia and I know there will be many treasured memories to scrap.
These are the products I used for my project:

Ranger Potting Soil Archival ink
3 sheets buff coloured A4 card (8.5 by 11")
Other scraps of white card and DP
Martha Stewart decorative edge punch
Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tattered Pinecones die
Various Snowflake dies
Vintage Photo Distress Ink and glitter
Iced Spruce Distress Ink
Antique Linen Distress Paint
Lace trim
Dark brown lace
Cream coloured smooth card
Sewing machine (if wished).
Your favourite adhesive.

1.I started by creating the central panel. I cut the piece of cream coloured card to 5.5 b 5.5" and stitched around the edges with my sewing machine. (This step could easily be left out).
2. Next I distressed the edges and inked around the outside with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and stamped the skating children and some of the snowflakes in Potting Soil Archival Ink. I also did some first and second generation stamping of the snow flakes with Iced Spruce Distress Ink. I then glittered the children and the centre of the brown snowflakes with Vintage Photo Distress Glitter.

3. Next I worked on the word Noel die cut, this was a gift from a friend and came from another Tim Holtz/Sizzix Die. I dabbed it with the Antique Linen Distress Paint and when dry dabbed some Potting Soil Archival ink over it.

4. Time to create the actual covers. For this I cut two pieces of the buff card to 8.5 by 10"
For the spine I cut a further piece to 8.5 by 3" and scored it 1 3/8" in from both sides, leaving me with a 1/4" bit in the middle. I gave one of the sides a decorative edge. I glued that around the two covers on the outside.

5.For the inside I created an accordion binding by scoring a bit of 8.5 x 6" card every half inch. I then folded it accordion style and glued in place on the inside of the covers as you can see from the photo.

The inside pages will later be tucked in between the folds and glued in place.
6. Before adhering the central panel to the covers I inked the corners from the back and curled the edges for a bit more interest.
7. Now for the fun bit, - embellishing the cover:
I cut the pine cone and branches from some scraps of card and coloured them with my two chosen colours of Distress Inks. I also cut various snowflakes and layered them up together and finally the whole thing was finished with some lace and beaded trim as you can see from the photos.

Well, I hope you like my mini book cover, I can't wait to start to design the inside pages and fill them with my holiday photos.

SIN CITY STAMPS "CLOCKWORKS: ORNAMENT

Today I am sharing an ornament I made using the Clockworks Inspired By Terri Sproul plate from SinCity Stamps.

Isn't this so cute!!  Super easy to make too!

Gather your supplies:

• Sin City Stamp Plate (link above)
• Stewart Superior India Ink Black
• Text Paper
• String of Pearls
• Glue dot runner
• Hot Glue Gun
• Prima Flowers
• Mis. Ribbon

Cut out circles, about 5" in diameter.  My circles were made using my Cricut and the free 3D Ornaments cartridge.  You can use a punch or a stencil to make yours.  Then, fold them in half, down the middle.

Use your Clockworks set of  Stamps and stamp random numbers on the right and left of the middle crease on each circle.

Fold your circle with the white side showing.  Using your glue dot runner, apply adhesive to it. Stick the next circle to this one and apply glue to it, just like you did before.  Do this to all the circles except the last one.

Before you add the final circle, put a bead of hot glue down the center of he ornament.  Lay your string of pearls in it, leaving a few inches coming out of the bottom and make a loop for the top, so you can hang it on the tree!

Here is a picture showing the ornament from the top.

This is the finished ornament!  See the pearl loop on top?  and the leaves and flowers at the bottom, glued to the pearls?  AWESOME!

Here is another view.  This ornament should have 7 half circles.  I love the vintage feel you get with the numerals!  And a Victorian feel with the pearls and flowers.  These look so pretty on the tree!

Gingerbread Bird House by Michelle Frae Cummings

 Hi Everyone!
     Michelle here with a delightful Gingerbread Bird House that was as fun to make as it is to look at!

The supplies I used were, .....From Sin City Stamps : Steampunked Christmas Peppermint gears,  and Santa from Steampunked Christmas.

 A unpainted wooden birdhouse with the perch removed, paint to prime it as you see here,
red, green and black ink. Assorted dew Drops from The Robins Nest, gold and silver glitter, a red ink pen for Santa's suit, a plastic candy cane, some beads for the feet, and extra Christmas miniatures.
I also used tombo glue, foam tape, e6000 and precision scissors.

Pam here today on the SinCity Stamps Blog today....can you believe it is 9 days until Christmas but you still  have time to make a few beautiful tags using Mannequin Tags Stamp and Knock on Wood Stamp Sets

 I started by cutting out a tags from chipboard and white cardstock using my Tim Holtz Tag Die.

Stamp one of the white pieces with the Knock on Wood Stamp set using Apricot Brown Memories Ink. 

Spray with three different Dylusions Sprays...I used Melted Charcoal, Paintbox Red, and Pure Sunshine...spray and allow each layer to dry til you achieve the depth of color you want....

Stamp two images of your favorite mannequin from the Mannequin Tags Stamp Set, color with two of your favorite markers, fussy cut them out and layer with pop dots....

 Scallop punch the border with a border punch....

 accordion fold the strip to form a dress for the mannequin....

Glue to the top of the mannequin, tie a black sheer ribbon around the waist, fussy cut a holly leaf and add to top of black sheer ribbon, add some metal wings and gear to the stand along with other fun embellishments to dress up your tag. Add your stained binding ribbon to the top.  Have fun making tags this holiday season. Hugs Pammejo

Christmas Dress Form Card

You can make a Christmas card even if you don’t have Christmas stamps!

If you like dress forms and you frequent Pinterest, you have no doubt seen several Christmas dress forms decorated with tree branches.  If you’ve missed the trend, click here to see an example.

I decided to make a Christmas dress form on a greeting card, using an image from Sin City Stamps’ Dress Forms set.

Supplies:
Cardstock in natural and cream
Patterned paper
India ink in black (I used Stewart Superior ink.)
Watercolors
Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap and Antique Linen
Mini feather tree
Safety pin
Foam tape
Cellophane tape

Let it Snow altered candle

Hello dear visitors, lovely to see you drop by here at this busy time of year. This is Astruid from the UK and I have an altered candle to share with you:

I think most of us at this time of year appreciate quick and easy, yet effective projects, I would say, this is one of those.
This is what you will need:
Winter Wonderland Stamp set

1 2 1/2" diameter plain white church candle
white tissue paper
Ranger Archival Ink in Coffee and Sepia
Some leaf dies or punches plus scraps of paper to punch them from
Some natural twine
Some Flowers
Heat-gun
Your favourite adhesive

Start by stamping your chosen images on the tissue paper with Sepia Archival mixed with a little Coffee Archival Ink

Carefully tear around the edges of the stamped images, don't cut them with scissors as that will leave you with sharp edges and you literally want to melt your images into the candle.

Carefully hold your stamped images in place where you want them on your candle, take your heat-gun and keeping it moving and at a good distance start to melt the wax and thus adhere your image to the candle.

Here you can see some details of the stamps I chose to use

 The wonderful Santa on his sledge

And his reindeer you can see when you turn the candle a bit.

To finish my rustic candle off a bit, I tied a length of twine around the bottom and glued on a punched leaf and flower cluster with bits and pieces from my stash.

 Well, there you have it, a quick and fun project that of course could be totally adapted to your Holiday Colour scheme..... I just happen to like the all natural vintage sepia tones.

Winter Wonderland Sliding Easel Card

Hello everyone, and welcome to December!!!!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful winter and great holiday season.  Today I want to share a fun card with you that can not only be beautiful, but can stand alone, literally.  I love dimension, as well as interaction, and this card does both.  I also wanted to play with my new stamp set from Sin City Stamps, Winter Wonderland.  I love the vintage images on this plate, and I think you will, too.

Festive Glittery Christmas Tags

 This year, I am giving handmade gifts. I plan on making gifts in a jar, fresh basked cookies, jewelry and hand crafted cards. To top all these gifts, I'm adding handmade tags too!
 I love the simplicity of the silver glitter accenting the tags with the nostalgic color scheme and festive rosette.

 Here's how I made these:
For the tag, I stamped in red ink, Backgrounds stamp by Terri Sproul.
I punched a hole at the top corner before adding a line of glue to the edges and sprinkling with glitter.

The rosette strip was stamped in green ink using a decorative border stamp from Art Journaling with Terri Sproul. I then ran the strip though my Big Shot with a rosette thin die.  
I assembled the rosette and topped it off with a decorative stamped image of Steampunked Peppermint Gears in red.
I accented the rosette and center image with glitter, red/green glues and silver dew drops from The Robins Nest.

I attached a bit of red pom-pom trim to the bottom of each tag and looped some vintage satin ribbon through the top.
I attached the rosette to the tag with 2 layers of foam tape to give it some fun dimension.

With a  personal holiday greeting on the back, I now have the perfect tags to accent my hand made gifts!

Pure Bliss Gear Altered Book with Pam Bray

Pam here on the SinCity Stamps Blog today....I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday, I know our family had a great day though most of our kids and there family live states away we celebrated with friends. Today I want to share with you the first of the altered albums that SinCity Stamps have released with many more coming in the future....I just love the Gear Chipboard Album and used photos from last years Thanksgiving weekend to share it with you and hope you will think about using some of your photos from this year to make yourself one

Here is the the Gear Chipboard Album...you will receive the cover, 3 inside pages and extra gears, it comes in 3 different sizes....I used the 4x4 for my Pure Blis Album. 

Here is the back of the front cover, I covered my album in WeR Memory Keepers Harvest Collection and that included the gears...lol...so  make sure to have a new blade in your xacto knife to get the intricate details from the gears cut out. If you decide against covering them with paper remember you can always paint, stain, ink, mist, or use another medium to do your pages and gear in.

Here is a closer look at the gears, don't you just love, love how they turned out...I added a bit of ink to the edges of all of my pieces to give it the distress look that I wanted.
