Mixed Media Album

Hello! Peggy here, today I would like to share with you my steampunk mini album.
Products used today are:
The first thing I did was randomly cover my journal with magenta and green Pan Pastels. I took my black Faber Castell Gelato and made marks and covered  the edges.  I then sprayed my cover with Tattered Angels Cork spray

Next I stamped with my Sin City Vintage Background Stamp in black Stazon Ink. Then I partially stamped on top of the stamp with Versa Mark Watermarking Ink and embossed with Gold and heated.

I wanted to have the cover look aged and so I added a torn corner. Glued down a piece of cardstock and used my finger nail to distress it. I also distress with Ranger Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.

I stamped my images from Sin City Stamps  before coloring with Lindys Sprays and edging with black Gelatos.
Here I mixed embossing powders Black and Brown. I used my Sin City Stamps and Versa Mark Ink and heated to emboss.  I went over my images with the magenta Pan Pastel and Black Gelato.
I decided my pages needed some pockets. I cut Acetate pockets with a Tim Holtz Die and adhered
them down with double sided tape. To fill those pockets I made matching tags.  Below I used a beautiful stamp from Sin City Stamps and embossed it with gold embossing powder.
This photo shows what to use to clean your stamps after using Stazon Permanent Ink.
If you do not clean your stamps your stamps will be stained permanently.

Below are my finished pages with pockets and tags bound with Vintage Seam Binding
stained with Magenta Pan Pastels and Black Gelatos.

My favorite page magenta and black with Sin City Stamps. My matching tag also colored
with Pan Pastels, embossed with Sin City Stamps and fussy cut wings were a perfect match!

Last page embellished with leftover tag from G45. My matching tag uses gold and clear embossing powder. The clear embossing powder acted as a resist when I colored with Distress inks.

This image shows without the tag below. Gorgeous background stamp from Sin City Stamps.

This image shows the back cover which matches the front.
Front cover with embellishments.

I hope you have enjoyed my mini album and instilled some incentive to try it out for yourself!
I had a blast making this album with my favorite genre "Steampunk".

Grunge Steampunk Bendi Card by Pinky

Hey there SinCity Stamps friends,
I am excited to be the guest designer for stamps in February!
I am looking forward to a fun relationship with SCS.
I have an interesting card to share today with you.
A steampunk style Bendi Card. If you haven't heard of Bendi cards, they are
an amazing layered card that is easy to create and really interesting to look at.
Now you can google Bendi card styles or grab a cut file in your
Silhouette/SVG store. I used a file by Samantha Walker in her Silhouette store.
I used a beautiful shimmery card stock for this (CutCardStock).
I am going to share step by step how I made this card.

Trim out Scalloped Bendi Card using Silhouette Die Cut machine.
Using the crackle texture stamp from the SinCity Wings Stamp set-
and Gold StazOn- crackle entire card.
Lightly dust with embossing powder (gold), and heat emboss for extra texture.
Take the wings from the SinCity Wings Stamp set-
and StazOn ink in Teal- stamp onto Kraft cardstock.
Dust centers with gold embossing powder and emboss.
Trim out wings.
Using Xyron Tape- adhere gold ribbon to card panels.
Then hot clue Connie Crystal- crystals over lace in a strand.
I adhere the wings using 3 layers of Xyron Adhesive Dots,
then added a Button Lovers metallic rose button.
Assemble card as instructions show using Xyron High Tack Tape.
Fold each panel in. then add Liquid Pearls to the scalloped border.
Next stamp "I'm Not Perfect" sentiment from SinCity Wings Stamp set-
onto Kraft card stock and add crackle texture stamp as well.
Trim out and adhere to top corner.
In the end you have a beautiful card ready for that special friend!
The details are just wonderful. Each stamp is perfect.
I hope you enjoyed my post today and check out my
blog for many other ideas and projects.

Until next time- Keep on creating!

Mixed Media Safe Travels Tag - Sin City Design Team

I have a friend moving away (boo) and made her a care package for her car didn't want to do a card since I handed it to her before she left figured a nice tag with a hand written note on the back would be enough.

Life has been crazy here - funny how you get on a Design team and doing your own blog and time just seems to disappear - plus 2 weddings - and well… Life 3 Kids & 3 Dogs (yes I'm crazy) My thought of each kid walking a dog didn't work out the way I was thinking..

Below is a photo of the kids..
Ella - Shiztu

Cleo - Yorkie Poo

The brand new one Hollister - Short Hair Terrier, Jack Russell Mix

OK Enough sharing of my personal life….

Below is photos of putting the tag together.  Started out with a Blank Tag - you can use any brand - I got these off ebay.

I then pulled out a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil - Bubble and my Pan pastels

I sprayed the tag with Helmar Crystal Kote Fixative Workable Matte

Then I added some washi Tape on the Left Hand Side

Then pulled out my alphabet Stencil and Used Dylusions Crushed Grape Ink Spray

Wanted something else - so pulled out some old stickers - not sure of the brand they are out of the package - and just placed them in random way on the bottom of the stamp..

Then I went over it with Gel Medium to make sure they don't lift.

I then pulled out some Yellow Paint by Blick Art Store and went over the whole thing.. was trying to lighten it up.   HATED IT.

So Stamps to the rescue and nothing better than Sin City Stamps.    I used the Classic Spark - they come in a great Plate of Red Rubber you just cut them to size.

It's hard to see it but I used the large Triangle Background with a Silver Ink Pad - close up you can see the image.
Then used the Car stamped on a separate tag and then cut out.

Once cut out - I used Silks Acrylic Glaze - Carmen & Silver Bells to paint the car and mounted it on the bottom of the Tag.

Then used the Angel Wings stamped them onto a piece of grey card stock - cut them out - and then used Viva Decor Inka Gold Indian Yellow to just put some gold on them.. I know the photo doesn't show it well but you can see it up close...

The tag still was too dark & yellow at this point so I pulled some Gesso out and a just smudged some onto the tag.   I then mounted the wings on the tag as well.

Finally I pulled out some alphabet stamps - Very sorry but I don't know the brand but if I had to guess they are either Close to my Heart or Stampin up product.

I stamped out the letters - Safe Travel onto the same Grey Cardstock - cute them out and mounted them on the tag.  I used Stayon Jet Black Ink.

I then pulled out my Pitt Pen - Black Medium to fill them in and make the black pop.  I planned for the letters to be took big and have to layer them on top of each other - I just loved that look.

I also used a White Gel Extreme Pen and did some doodling on the Angel Wings and Car headlights..

Added some handmade Ribbon (purple) and had the tag.

The final tag…  Oh an by the way - my friend just loved it - she has it hanging off her radio button in the car…

Thank you for looking at the blog - please make sure to stop at the store and pick up some great rubber stamps.  The quality is top notch!!!  I just love them.

She Flies

Hello!  This is RobinRedd, aka Rockin Redd Robin!
I’m here today to share the first page in my new Art Journal.  I’m using the large Dylusions Creative Journal.  Up until now, I’ve been hesitant to art journal in an actual art journal.  I think because I was afraid of ruining a perfectly good art journal.  Absolute CRAZY thinking!  I had been art journaling on loose water color paper.  Loose meaning from a tablet of paper, not in a book.

I finally bit the bullet and journalled right into  a book!  And let me tell you, I LOVE this book!  As I’m completing pages, it just feels so good to hold and to flip through the few pages I’ve already completed.

With this page, I started my stamping these images onto tissue paper with a black Staz-on Stamp pad so the ink doesn’t bleed when it comes in contact with anything fluid.  –Set aside.
**Stamps used:

I will not be using any gesso as a base for any of my pages in this book because I contacted a person from Dyan Reaverly’s (Dylusions) camp and asked if she used gesso when she used this book and she did not.  When I use watercolor paper or sometimes I’ll art journal on LARGE shipping tags, I will use gesso.
To start his page, I simply took the covers off of a few different colors of Distress Stamp Pads and took them directly to the paper and smeared it around, one color at a time.  I started with Antique Linen Distress pad, covering the entire page.  I topped that with Shabby Shutters Distress Pad, then I  inked the edges and corners with the Tea Dye Distress Stamp Pad.
To get the white spots on the page, I simply drizzled plain water on the page.  I took a paper towel and DABBED it up.  I didn’t wipe it because I wanted the water to remove the ink in dots, not smears.  Then I took some watered down brown acrylic paint and splattered it across the paper.
At this point I sprayed the page with workable fixative.  Otherwise, if I were to apply a wet medium over it, the colors will bleed.
I cut off some body parts of a girl in a magazine and with the stamped images from the tissue paper, I created a ‘new’ girl by layering all parts and adhering them to the page with Liquitex Matte Medium.
I painted these chipboard pieces from Gina’s Design’s with watercolor pencils and Distress stain,
adhered them on with CTMH’s Liquid Glass.

I finished the page with some doodle journaling using Scarlet Lime’s black journal pen.

Here is the completed page!  Hopefully, you can use one of these simple ideas on your next creation!
Thanks for coming by!  I’ll see you in a couple of weeks.
