Hello! Ana from Craft Me a Card coming to you once more with a Card showcasing the wonderful Cactus Stamp set from Blank Page Muse called: Set of 3 Potted Cactus & Succulents Art Rubber Stamps By Pam Bray Designs.
I am just having a ball with these stamps! So many cute puns to use. We can really get creative using cacti as our inspiration for fun sentiment. These stamps are the best for the use of any plant, succulent, or cactus pun.
Here I will be guiding you along as I explain the steps I take in creating this cute card for my nieces birthday. She loves succulents. I can't think of a better card to give her than one using these well taken care of succulents.

First you will start off by covering your card base with a cardstock of the color of your preference. I love teal, so I went with cardstock of this color.
Next, stamp your cactus' on watercolor paper. You need it to be watercolor so you can give it color using water base inks. The water color look works best for the feeling we want to portray on this card which is a creative, artistic look.
Take your water color medium and color the plants. I decided to use Distress Markers by Tim Holtz. Simply, scribble the color on a non porous surface, add water, and with a wet brush color away.
For the next step you will be using a background stamp. This one by Blank Page Muse called Canvas Texture building Art Rubber Stamp fit perfectly for this card.
Using your scissors or cutter, cut the colored images out in form of a square.
Using the same color cardstock as your base; cut squares a little larger than your stamped and colored images. You want the colored cardstock to show as a frame around your images.
Using a crafters knife or distressing tool, distress the edges of both pieces (colored image and colored cardstock).
Adhere the colored images onto the colored cardstock. Now you have your images nicely displayed with a frame around them.
Take a piece of white cardstock and cut it to be 1/4" smaller (all around) than your card base. Randomly stamp these same succulent images in black ink on this piece of paper. Also used here is this awesome art rubber stamp of the sun by Blank Page Muse called Sun with Long Rays and Face.
Take a narrow piece of white cardstock (about 2" wide), and the length of your card. Using two different colors stamp this image along the whole strip of white cardstock. I used Distress inks by Tim Holtz in the colors of Antique Linen and Peacock Feathers.
Now you are ready to start putting your card together.
Placing this decorated strip in the middle of the white and black stamped piece (longways), go ahead and glue it down. Now this piece can be glued down to your colored cardbase.
Glue the three images of the succulents along the stamped strip evenly distributed.
For the sentiment, print out or handwrite the sentiment: "Have a Plantastic" (on a different line) "Birthday".
Cut out the first part of your sentiment in form of a banner. This banner will be placed on the top left hand side of the card. the Birthday banner with the "Birthday" on it will be placed on the bottom right hand side of the card. This way the card will be "balanced" Quick tip: add glue only to the two extremities of the banner.. when you glue it down, try to adhere it lifting up the center of the banner. This way, your banner will set looking 3D.
And there you have it! A cute "pun" card to make someone smile on their birthday.
