Fall Trees

Fall is one of my favorite seasons, I love the colors of the changing leaves!

The colors are so beautiful.

Today I am taking inspiration from the leaves that have been falling. I took the Bare Tree Silhouette stamp and water colored the picture with fall colors in two different cards.

My inspiration!

Stamps from Blank Page Muse:

Other supplies:
Watercolor paints
Smooth watercolor paper
VersaFine Black Ink
Clear embossing powder
Wide tip gold Sharpie
Gems
Cosmic Shimmer Gilding flakes

Stamp the images on smooth watercolor paper with VersFine black ink, heat emboss with clear embossing powder.

I love watercolors, as you can see one set is not enough!  Paint the ground in greens and browns, let dry. Then paint the sky a faint blue, let dry.

Using a mixture of reds, oranges. yellows and browns for leaves.  Do not try and paint individual leaves, add blobs of color and you will get the effect of leaves. Let each color dry before adding the next, or the colors will blend, and you will have a muddy mess.

When the watercolors are dry, along the bottom of the card place double sided adhesive as pictured.  Cover with Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Flakes. Edge card with wide tip gold Sharpie pen. Stamp THANK YOU with black ink on the car. Add a few gems to the card. Mount the finished panel on black cardstock and adhere to the card.

The owl has leaves flying around the tree giving the effect of a blustery day. When the watercolors are dry. Edge card with wide tip gold Sharpie pen. Stamp THANK YOU with black ink on white cardstock and mount on black cardstock. Add a few gems to the card. Mount the finished panel on black cardstock and adhere to the card.

ENJOY THE FALL SEASON!

A Floral Background on Vellum

Hello! Welcome back to the BPM blog. November is the month of Thanksgiving which is one of inspirations in the creation of this card. I did not use colors of the season for a change.

I stamped the floral image on vellum with embossing ink repeatedly. I don't want the image to be overlapping, and I want to be able to stamp as much image on the panel so I used the old handy dandy tool Stamp A Ma Jig for placement of the image.

I used a pearl embossing powder for some shimmer. I melted the embossing powder in between stamping. Vellum can be tricky with repeated heating due to its tendency to warp. To prevent this, give the heat gun plenty of time to warm up before melting the embossing powder. Also, continuously move the heat gun while melting the embossing powder.

The effect of the pearl embossing powder on vellum is very elegant.

I added a pop of color to the floral background but instead of adding the color directly to the embossed flower, I colored the image on the back of the vellum.

I hope today's project inspires you.

How to Create a Watercolor Stamped tag

Hello!  Chris here today and  I am excited to share this colorful tag I created using both rubber and clear stamps! How fun it was to mix both kinds of stamps on my project.

I started by layering distress inks on my surface.

After spritzing inks with a bit a water I laid my tag into the ink.

Just look at the gorgeous colors!

I then grabbed two of my favorite stamp sets.

I Brake for Stamps Florals Sheet Flowers for you Bouquet Happy Birthday Thank you SB132B

Using the  Florals Sheet Flowers for you Bouquet Happy Birthday Thank you SB132B  from I Brake for Stamps, I stamped the floral image repeatedly onto the tag and then heat embossed the images.

Grabbing my Beyond the Border Mixed Media Set 1 CLEAR Stamps designed by Pam Bray from Blank Page Muse, I stamped two borders onto the tag. You can see the first border below.

I finished my tag by matted the tag onto black cardstock and then adding a die cut butterfly and a die cut "hello"

I hope you are inspired to get creative with your stamps and papers from Blank Page Muse and I Brake For Stamps.  Don't forget to use my discount code BPMChris.

Card & Envelope Set Using Digital Printed Paper

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. Today's project's focus is on the use of printable digital paper. Although I am not new to this, this is the first time I have used one on a project.

This digital download is by Blank Page Muse:
Digital Download Fall Teal Flowers & Leaves

The download offers three zipped files. I am using the 8x11 file and a half sheet file for my project.

I printed the full page image on a light weight cardstock. This is what I used for the envelope. I minimized the margin to 0, hoping I can print the image edge to edge. But it didn't print that way. There was still an eighteenth of an inch margin around the image. I used Microsoft Word to print my images.

Clean & Simple Mask-uline Floral Technique

Hello from design team member, Heidi.  I have always thought that there is no reason why flowers should not be masculine.  Every guy I know likes flowers.  Anyhow, it is corny but I decided to use a flower and masking and make it sort of a masculine card.

I used this HUGE Dahlia stamp.  It is such a great stamp, I use this one a lot.

1) I used a grid to mask a straight section of my card front.  I used Mint Tape, and I didn’t even measure how wide it is.

2) Stamp right over the tape so that the flower shows up on either side.

3) Using both the tape and a ruler, use a black marker or pen to draw a border on the flower.  I didn’t extend beyond the stamped image, but depending on what length of sentiment you will use, you totally could extend it, even to the edge of the card.

4) Remove the tape and then stamp your sentiment in between the lines.

I finished the card by coloring just little parts of the flower with a light grey and a green marker. I then matted the card front with grey cardstock and voila, a clean and simple Thank You card, suitable for any recipient.  Even a guy.

This card uses Quarter Sheet Dahlia stamp set and also the sentiment comes from Fall Rubber Stamp set by Pam Bray Designs.

Rosy Thank You Card

Hello from design team member, Heidi.  Today I have a pretty thank you card to share.  I like to have a lot of these around because I tend to need a lot at once.

I stamped and colored two of the Rose images and colored them in.  This is such a detailed stamp that it was very easy to color.  I fussy cut them out.

I, then, stamped the Thank You onto some patterned paper.  I also cut an oval window out of white cardstock and embossed it.

After this all there was left is to assemble the card by using a bit of bright pink cardstock for a mat.  I thought about adding glitter, but in the end left it alone.

The stamps I used are both in the Blank Page Muse shop:
