Stephanie here with a steampunk themed embellishment created with several BPM stamps. This fun steampunk embellishment could be added to a card, scrapbook page or even a mixed media page. It was a fun dimensional piece to create. Check out how I made this below!

1. Spritz surface with Distress Ink Spray and add some water drops. Press paper repeatedly into the ink. Dry and then add more water droplets to the dried ink. Let sit for a few and then dab the water spots and left the ink to give it a distressed look. Punch two 2.5 inches circles from the paper.

2. Use the Steampunk Definition, Pocket Watch and Pocket Watch with Wings onto the paper. Color over the definition with alcohol marker. Use the gold Brea Reese Watercolor Cream Crayon to color the watch with wings and pocket watch. Trim each piece.

3. Arrange the circles on the bottom and glue together. Place the definition in the center of the two circles. Add the winged pocket watch above and to the right of the definition stamp on foam dots. Below the definition and to the left add the larger pocket watch on top of the circle with foam dots.

Close up of the watch. It's absolutely beautiful!

Love Signs

Hey BPM Fans!

Mercy here again with another project that is sure to brighten a room, wall, or shared area.  

Many chain stores as well as online outlets, have a variety of compressed wood pieces that are perfect for decorating.  In my example, the Love sign was found in the holiday section of Dollar Tree. 

 It's smooth porous surface is great for inking, stamping, collage, and general altering. 

Really, the sky's the limit with these forms and stamping with permanent ink really showed up remarkably well.

Steampunk themed stamps were used for this project, however any themed stamps would look really great on them for a variety of rooms, seasons and uses. 

Supplies:

Small Bird in Flight

Pocket Watch with Bat Wings

Flower Shape with Butterflies

Dylusions Inks: Yellow and Red

Composite Wood Sign

Permanent Archival Black Ink

Instructions:

1. Spray lightly at the top of your composite sign some of your yellow ink.  Use the sponge to rub in ink, and wipe off, pulling the yellow down the letters.  Dab any excess yellow ink to some scrap papers to reuse later.  Once the yellow is dry, spritz the bottom of each letter lightly, blending with the same sponge the ink there, pulling the red up into the yellow.  Intermingle the inks for a rainbow like affect from the top of each letter, down to the bottom.  Allow to dry.

2. Organize each of the stamps to figure out the best layout for each to be added to the letters.  Try to visualize where the best placements are along the letters for each image. In this case, the stamps were flipped over for spacing, arranged by size as well as theme, making sure as much of the image would be shown on the letters.  Once you decide on best placements, move the stamps off the sign so that you know exactly where to stamp each on the project.

3.  Ink up your stamps with the black archival pad, making sure the stamp is completely covered in it.  It's important to make sure all the stamps, before you stamp, are inked evenly since you have one chance to really get this right.  Once confident the stamp is loaded perfectly, carefully stamp directly on the letters.

4. Stamp all the images to the surface, making sure not to overlap.  If you want overlap or layering, use the post-it notes and mask off the images you wish to protect as the top layer image.

5. Once all the inks are dry and surface is completely decorated, use Vintage Gold wax and apply to all the edges.

Check to see that everything is dry to touch before hanging on a door, standing on a table, or wherever you are needing a little love.

More Wings Please

Hello Blank Page Muse fans.  Gail here today with my second post for February.  For my first post this month I added wings to an image.  For this one I am taking them away LOL.  Well, he gets to keep one, but it ends up looking more like a fancy collar.  I had an idea this could be a sympathy sort of card with the thoughtful bloke, be brave sentiment and time flying image.  What do you think??  Might work if your bereaved is arty!

I started by cutting a panel of Prima patterned paper with the large stitch rectangle die and blending Pumice Stone distress ink through That's Crafty Random Ovals stencil. 

I stamped Steampunk Pocket Watch with Wings all over the panel using Frayed Burlap distress ink.  

I cut the panel again with the medium stitched rectangle die and used a black Promarker to edge both pieces.

I stamped Vintage Steampunk Gentleman with Wings on white card using black archival, coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut the bloke without his wings.  

I stamped the Steampunk Pocket Watch with Wings on white card, embossed with gold embossing powder and fussy cut.

I decided I liked the wings after all and even ended up stamping a second pair!!  I fussy cut the wings and arranged them and my other images on the panels.  I stamped the sentiment, fussy cut and added a black mat before adding it to the card. Be Brave!  He's lost in thought and time is flying, like it has a tendency to do.....

Indulge Your Imagination

Hi Everyone, Cathy N. here with a card to indulge your imagination!

Supplies:
Blank Page Muse Stamps

1. Chicken Wire Mesh
2. Old Style Key with Wings
3. Steampunk Airship Sail and Clocks
4. Steampunk Pocket Watch with Wings
5. Black and White cardstock
6. Acrylic paint- turquoise and silver.
7. Markers
8. Glitter pen
9. Washi tape
10. Black ink
11. Foam tape.

Paint your white cardstock with the turquoise paint.

Use a sponge to add some silver paint, making for a nice textured look.

I used this on my New years Eve party crown so if you think you saw it before, you did.

 I really like how the colors came out.

Cut this down to fit on a card size of your choice.

Apply some silver paint to the Chicken Wire Mesh  and stamp randomly onto the card.

Edge the sides of the card with the same silver paint.

Ink up the  Old Style Key with Wings with black ink and stamp onto the card as shown.

Stamp the Steampunk Airship Sail and Clocks onto white cardstock and cut out.

Color in the image with markers and add a little sparkle to the sail with the glitter pen.

 Accent the bottom of the card with your washi tape before matting the card onto the black cardstock.

I added wings to the ship by cutting off the wings from Steampunk Pocket Watch with Wings.  and adhered them with foam tape for dimension.

I finished the card with a stamped sentiment.
