Hello Stampers!
Wow we are nearly halfway through the year - time flies when you are having fun stamping!
Have you been enjoying our themes for this month?
Today I've created a "patriotic" postcard - of course I'm an "Aussie" so it has a "Down Under" feel LOL but of course this can be adapted to wherever you are from!!!
Supplies:
Blank Page Muse Stamp: Cute Baby Animals II Set "Koala"
6 x 4 Index Card, Postcard or Card cut to size
Old postage stamps from "your" home country
Dye Ink Pad - Brown Shade (Memento "Rich Cocoa" used)
Your Fav Colouring "tools"
Stencil and Gesso
Ink Sprays
Computer Generated Wording OR Rubber Stamps
Postcard "Backing"
General supplies/tools: glue stick, glue, scissors, spatula, paper towel, sewing machine
Instructions:
Start by covering the entire index/postcard with postage stamps - adhere with a glue stick. When dry trim the overhanging stamps.
Use your favourite stencil and a spatula to apply thick white gesso to the postcard. Allow to dry.
Using a spray ink lightly spritz the postcard to colour the white gesso. Use the paper towel to "mop up" the excess ink. Allow to dry.
Glue the printed postcard back to the postcard front. Use your sewing machine to "edge" the postcard with a "zig zag" stitch for interest.
Stamp the "koala" stamp onto white card using your brown ink pad. Colour with your choice of medium (Copics used for this project). Fussy cut the stamped image.
Adhere the koala and wording plus any other embellishments you like to the front of your postcard and it's all ready for posting to a penpal!
Hope you can find some inspiration from my project today!
Have a great week!
Sharon
