When I was growing up I was fascinated by birds. I loved being able to identify them and was proud to share my knowledge with friends and family.
Those memories were the inspiration behind this art journal page.

For this art journal page you will need the following:
- A mixed media art journal
- Watercolors or distress ink pads
- Versamark Watermark ink pad
- Clear embossing powder
- Black pigment ink pad
- White embossing powder
- Green cardstock die cut shape
- Gems
- Dimensional foam adhesive
- Orange marker
- Glossy Accents
- The bird, large feather, medium feather, and "stand for something" stamps from the Flower & Bird Sketches Art Rubber Stamp Sheet set.
First stamp the feathers all over your art journal page with Versamark Watermark ink. Heat emboss using white embossing powder.
Stamp the bird onto white cardstock. Color the beak and legs with your orange marker and fussy cut it out.
I chose to leave the rest of the bird uncolored because it's such a beautiful, detailed stamp and I didn't want to risk hiding that. Add Glossy Accents to the eye. Optional but it's something I feel adds a bit of a finishing touch is to take a black marker and run it along the edges of the image you've cut out.
Set it aside to let the Glossy Accents dry.
Press one color of your ink pads or watercolors onto the sandwich bag. Spritz with water.
Next, slip your hand into the bag and "smoosh" it onto your page.
You'll have something like this. Repeat using your other colors until you achieve your desired look.
Stamp the "stand for something" sentiment onto your die cut with black pigment ink and heat set with clear embossing powder.
When your journal page is fully dry attach the die cut to the center of it. Place dimensional foam adhesive on the back of the bird and secure at the top of the die cut.
Add a few gems if you'd like.
I hope that you'll try this technique with your Blank Page Muse stamps. Be sure to tag BPM on social media so that we can see what you were inspired to create!
Until next time,
Samantha
