Let's Flamingo! Shaker Card

Hello! Welcome back to the BPM blog. Today's project is all about Flamingos. Do you know that flamingos get their color from their food? I guess after learning that fun fact, we can color the flamingo any color we would like, right? I only found out about this after I was done with my coloring. Maybe next time I will use a non-traditional color for the flamingo.

I am using the Flamingo Row Red Rubber Arts Stamps on my card. I stamped the row of flamingos first to create a background. To make the coloring quick, I created a paper mask to apply the inks to the flamingo's body by blending in the color. I used the same technique on the large flamingo. except for its legs. I used a color pencil to color the flamingos' legs.

I made this into a shaker card. I have not created one for a while so I thought this will be a good time to make one. I hope you like it.

A CAS Flamingo Card

Hello! Welcome back to the BPM blog. Today's project is clean and easy to remake. I also created a stencil for this project that I can keep and reuse for future projects.

I used the following Blank Page Muse products for my card:
I used watercolor pencils to color the birds. These images are not hard to color at all. You can also use any color medium for coloring. I fussy cut the image after I colored the birds leaving a thin white border around it.

I created my own heart stencil by repurposing one of the plastic dividers of my son's broken accordion file folder. There might be some difficulty die cutting through this plastic despite adding a metal shim to the die cut machine sandwich. Just reinforce the cut with a craft knife, and you are set to go. You just created your very own DIY stencil.

After I blended ink on the open space of my DIY stencil, I positioned the Clouds & Drops stencil over the DIY stencil. I used the same ink for blending to make this card very simple.

An embossed sentiment completes this CAS card. Very easy, right? Another option is to stamp the birds on the card front and masking it to protect the birds from the ink blending. In doing so, this card will truly be a one layer card.

Celebrate Summer with Flamingo Love

Hi there, crafty friends!

It’s Creative Team member Walter back on the blog today with you today.  Where has this Summer gone?  I feel like life has been so busy lately that the days just flew by.  In thinking about how to celebrate these last weeks of the season, I thought it would be fun to celebrate them with some flamingos and florals.  Lucky for us, Blank Page Muse has the perfect red rubber stamp set to create such a celebration.

My design, Flamingo Love, was made with the following products:

How cute and fun are these two love birds and the heart that they form with their beaks?!  Flamingos always remind me of warm weather, and these tropical looking flowers look like they belong at a Labor Day picnic.  I hope that you enjoy them!

Hello crafty friends, on the blog today with Blank Page Muse dreaming of summer beaches! What about you are you ready for the beach?

I have to say, I love this card and how it turned out! here are the supplies used -
Cosmic Shimmer Aqua Lagoon
Distress Ink Kitsch Flamingo
Distress Ink Marmalade
White Cardstock
Washi Tape
Black embossing powder

To create the background on this card, squirt some of the dry Cosmic Shimmer on your work surface and spritz with a little bit of water. Dab your cardstock in the Cosmic Shimmer, dry with a heat tool, and keep dabbing and drying until you like the background.

Next, stamp the flamingo and sentiment on white cardstock and heat emboss in black. Using Distress Ink Kitsch Flamingo and Marmalade to watercolor the flamingo.

Cut close to the sentiment and place down a piece of washi tape for the flamingo to stand on. Glue down the flamingo and sentiment. Your card is finished!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you to create your own flamingo!
