Fun in the Sun Post Card

Aloha,

Sending warm greetings from the beautiful beaches of Hawaii!
You can not help but be inspired when visiting such an exotic location.
This card was inspired by the vintage art work observed on the islands. Scene building cards are a great way to create small pieces of art to share with your friends and family or to remember a special event.

   Gelli Arts Printing Plate
   Paint
   Distress tool
   Foam tape
   Alcohol markers
   Black ink

Use the Gelli plate with shades of blue paint create the water/sky background. Using multiply layers of paint, create a wave like action for the ocean part of the scene.

Stamp the palm leaves only from the palm tree stamp in black ink in the fore ground. Next stamp the mountains and sail boat on white card stock.  Color in with shades of gray using alcohol markers. Scan and cut images to be adhered to the layer. Distress the edges of the painted/stamped layer to create the vintage look. Using foam tape attach this layer to a blue layer then tape this to the white card base.

Shabby Chic Canvas

Hello and welcome! It's Graciellie posting today. This month Sin City Stamps has partnered with Gelli Arts! What a great combination of products! I've had a great time creating personalized backgrounds with Gelli Arts' Gel Plate, and adding details with SCS stamps. It's almost therapeutic the way the projects come together, and how we have no precise control of the resulting background using the Gel Plate (a truly spontaneous artistic process).

Today I want to show you a 6"x 6"
pink, gold, and silver canvas I made.

Main Supplies
Sin City Stamps:
Butterfly Mask
Chicken Wire with Butterflies Mask
Love of Butterflies Plate of Rubber
Gelli Arts 5"x 7" Gel Plate
Cotton Wood Arts 6"x 6" canvas (to be released)
Other
Crackle Embossing Paste
Palette knife
Brush
Baby wipes
Paints: Poster paint in pink and metallic acrylic paints in gold and silver
Embellishments: 2" lace, 3/8" gross grain ribbon, gold vintage buttons, Fused string pearl beads, pearls, crystals
Adhesives: Uhu all purpose adhesive, Bazic two sided tape

I layered many butterflies that I stamped, heat embossed in gold and fuzzy cut to create a 3D effect. The background was created with Gelli Arts Gel Plate. I also stenciled the canvas with crackle embossing paste, which added to the shabby chic design.

I prepared a step by step tutorial for you. Start the guide below to check it out!

Sin City Stamps and Gelli Plates Backgrounds

Hello everyone, and welcome back for more Halloween fun!  I just love October because I love making anything related to Halloween.  I've always been a fan of spooky movies, and this genre is just my thing!

Today's project is a very colorful and a bit creepy card that I made using my Gelli Arts printing plate for a background, and a few of my favorite Sin City Stamps rubber sets.
While playing around with my gelli plate, I also made this same or similar background on a different color card stock to see what the difference would be.  Then I couldn't help myself.  I had to turn it into a  tag, or a card to slip into a pocket, or even used as a focal point on a card.

I have prepared a bit of a tutorial for you using Snapguide.  All you have to do is click START THE GUIDE for complete instructions.
