Card Full of Roses

Hello! I'm Ana from Craft Me a Card coming to you once more with a Card showcasing a beautiful background stamp called Roses from Blank Page Muse by Pam Bray Designs.

Once I saw this stamp, I knew exactly how I wanted to use it. The whimsical yet elegant nature of this design called for me to create a card using the color gold and a salmon pink. I can't wait to recreate this card using mint and gold as the colors.

Here I will be guiding you along as I explain the steps I take in creating this beautiful card for my cousins birthday. She loves this color and she loves roses.

 Supply list:

  • Oxide inks by Tim Holtz (Worn lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade)
  • Gold colored cardstock
  • White cardstock
  • Gold Embossing Powder
  • Gold Sequin
  • Ribbon
  • Corner metal dies

Instructions:

First you will start off by covering your card base with solid gold colored cardstock or paper.

To get the next layer prepared for heat embossing, apply antistatic powder to a piece of white cardstock.

Add embossing ink to the stamp and stamp it on the white cardstock.

Sprinkle gold embossing powder on this stamped image until it is completely covered. With a heat tool, melt the embossing powder to reveal the roses background.

On a non-porous surface like a piece of plastic or glass, apply oxide inks from the stamp pads by "smashing" them on the surface. Spritz the ink with water. Next, take the embossed piece and "smash" it on to the wet inks. This will give your background a beautiful water colored look.

Since the stamp is shorter than the card base, cut the embossed piece in half.

For measure, cut a piece of white cardstock a bit smaller than your card base. Remember to make sure the width is the same as the piece you embossed.

Glue these two pieces (the embossed piece cut in half) to this measured white cardstock making sure the embossed pieces reach both ends of the white cardstock. There will be a white gap left in between. Don't worry I have a solution for it.

Add a piece of wide gold ribbon to the middle of the card, wide enough to cover the gap. This will help bring out the gold in the card. On top of this gold ribbon, add a piece of pink or salmon colored ribbon. This will help the card bring out more of that pink color.
This piece is now ready to be glued on to the card base. Using liquid glue adhere it to the center of the gold covered card base.

Create a bow using the same salmon or pink ribbon you placed on top of the gold ribbon. Please see YouTube link Easy Bow Making on how I created this bow using a home made tool.
Add some liquid glue to the center of the two ribbons to glue the bow down.

Print or stamp your Happy Birthday sentiment on cardstock prepared the same way as the colored card base.

With a metal die or a punch cut the sentiment out. Using liquid glue, glue it on to the middle of the bow. As if the tag was tied into the bow.

To add some sparkle to the card, glue sequin sporadically on to the card.

Adding some Glossy Accents makes the sentiment shine and helps it stand out.

To finish the card, add corners to it. You can skip this step, although I think it helps give the card a more completed look.

Cactus Card

Hello and thank you for taking the time to view our creations. It is with great happiness that at bring to you a card that is perfect for sending to that loved one far away. Using this cute cactus stamp from the set of three stamps named: Potted Cactus & Succulents

 Supply list:

Instructions:
Cut craft color cardstock to the size of your card. Trim olive green cardstock 1/4" smaller than your base card size. Cut white watercolor paper 1/2" smaller than your card base. This will create a nice boarder around your top layer (white watercolor).
Pick two to three colors from your watercolor markers to match the craft color and olive green cardstock. Variation: If you don't have watercolor markers, use whatever you have on hand. Ideas of what you can use in their place are regular watercolor paints, distress inks, oxide distress inks.
Scribble the colors on to your watercolor paper. Try to center these.

With a brush, take a bit of clean water and run it over your colors. This will blend and disperse the colors in the center of your watercolor paper. Set this aside to dry or use a heat tool to accelerate the drying time.
Once the paper has dried, stamp the cactus stamp with black ink on top of the watercolor design you just created.
Using the help of your computer, print out the sentiment: "I feel lonely without you". Cut it out as a strip using the help of a crafter's knife and ruler.
Adhere the strip with the sentiment under the cactus. Try to not cover the cactus or the watercolor you have created.

Go ahead and glue this top layer of the watercolor paper on to the olive green cardstock.

Using the corner punch, punch out the corners. You can now place the top layer inside these slots to hold this first layer. You can secure it by adding liquid glue to the back of it.
*Variation: If you do not have this corner punch, you can skip this step or ad a different kind of corner decor.

To finish the card, add some Sea Breeze NUVO drops in different parts of the card to mimic teardrops.

This completes this sweet card. I hope you get inspired, I hope you create, and be happy.

Love Card

Hello, this is Ana coming to you once more with a handmade card. I feel this Love stamp offers a wonderful size and vintage feel to make it the center focal image of any card or project. Adding some red foil to the card just adds that extra "pop" we look for when creating something. Join me as I walk you through how I created this simple, easy, and beautiful card.

Supply list:

  • Blank page Muse: Love Faith & Family Vintage Art Rubber Stamp Full Sheet SC88
  • Red foiled cardstock, black cardstock, white cardstock
  • R27 Copic Marker
  • Black embossing powder
  • Spellbinders "Floral" embossing  folder SES-007
  • Cut out letters of  Y, O, U
  • Versamark embossing ink
  • Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper - Stub & Scallop Punch by We R Memory Keepers

  • Thin black ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions:

Start by cutting a black piece of cardstock to fit the size of your card base. Cut red foiled card stock to be 1/4" smaller than our card. Next, cut a white piece of cardstock 1/2" smaller than your card size. In other words cut:
  • First card base (black): size of your card,
  • Second card base (red foiled): 1/4" smaller than your card,
  • Third card base (white): 1/2" smaller than your card.

Adhere the two first layers (black and red foiled) on to your card base. The card is ready to be worked on.

Next, using embossing ink, stamp the beautiful LOVE stamp on to a white piece of cardstock. Remember to run an anti static powder over the white cardstock where you will be stamping to avoid embossing powder sticking to any other place than where the stamp is. Pour black embossing powder over it and heat set it by melting the black powder.

Using some scissors, "fussy" cut around the embossed Love image.

Using a red marker, color in the word Love and the thin frame around it for some balance.

Take the white Cardstock cut 1/2" smaller than the card base, and emboss it, using an embossing folder of your choice. I used the Floral embossing folder by Spellbinders because I felt it added to the vintage look the stamp offers.

Next round the corners of this embossed white cardstock.

Glue your cut out Love stamp and glue it to the top middle section of the embossed white cardstock.

Cut out the letters Y, O, U out of the red foil cardstock. You can use a die cutting machine for this or manually.

By adding a thin black piece of ribbon to the middle of the card, we add a separation between
the Love stamp and the red foiled YOU. This helps balance the colors out.

Glue the red foiled letters of (you) centered under the black ribbon.

Glue this piece on to the card base on top of the red foiled cardstock and your card is finished.
Easy and quick lovely card.

Have a Plantastic Birthday Card

Hello! Ana from Craft Me a Card coming to you once more with a Card showcasing the wonderful Cactus Stamp set from Blank Page Muse called: Set of 3 Potted Cactus & Succulents Art Rubber Stamps By Pam Bray Designs.

I am just having a ball with these stamps! So many cute puns to use. We can really get creative using cacti as our inspiration for fun sentiment. These stamps are the best for the use of any plant, succulent, or cactus pun.

Here I will be guiding you along as I explain the steps I take in creating this cute card for my nieces birthday. She loves succulents. I can't think of a better card to give her than one using these well taken care of succulents.

 Supply list:

Instructions:

First you will start off by covering your card base with a cardstock of the color of your preference. I love teal, so I went with cardstock of this color.

Next, stamp your cactus' on watercolor paper. You need it to be watercolor so you can give it color using water base inks. The water color look works best for the feeling we want to portray on this card which is a creative, artistic look.
Take your water color medium and color the plants. I decided to use Distress Markers by Tim Holtz. Simply, scribble the color on a non porous surface, add water, and with a wet brush color away.

For the next step you will be using a background stamp. This one by Blank Page Muse called Canvas Texture building Art Rubber Stamp fit perfectly for this card.

Using your scissors or cutter, cut the colored images out in form of a square.
Using the same color cardstock as your base; cut squares a little larger than your stamped and colored images. You want the colored cardstock to show as a frame around your images.
Using a crafters knife or distressing tool, distress the edges of both pieces  (colored image and colored cardstock).

Adhere the colored images onto the colored cardstock. Now you have your images nicely displayed with a frame around them.

Take a piece of white cardstock and cut it to be 1/4" smaller (all around) than your card base.
Randomly stamp these same succulent images in black ink on this piece of paper. Also used here is this awesome art rubber stamp of the sun by Blank Page Muse called Sun with Long Rays and Face.

Take a narrow piece of white cardstock (about 2" wide), and the length of your card. Using two different colors stamp this image along the whole strip of white cardstock. I used Distress inks by Tim Holtz in the colors of Antique Linen and Peacock Feathers.

Now you are ready to start putting your card together.
Placing this decorated strip in the middle of the white and black stamped piece (longways), go ahead and glue it down. Now this piece can be glued down to your colored cardbase.

Glue the three images of the succulents along the stamped strip evenly distributed.

For the sentiment, print out or handwrite the sentiment: "Have a Plantastic" (on a different line) "Birthday".
Cut out the first part of your sentiment in form of a banner. This banner will be placed on the top left hand side of the card. the Birthday banner with the "Birthday" on it will be placed on the bottom right hand side of the card. This way the card will be "balanced"
Quick tip: add glue only to the two extremities of the banner.. when you glue it down, try to adhere it lifting up the center of the banner. This way, your banner will set looking 3D.

And there you have it! A cute "pun" card to make someone smile on their birthday.
