A Beautiful Pendant for Mothers Day

Hello, I love to experiment and find new ways to use art supplies I already have. This week I was experimenting with embossing powder. Did you know that you can use it to make jewelry? You sure can and I will show you how in a few simple steps. I use a Melting Pot by Ranger but if you don't have one use a heat safe dish and a heat gun to melt it. Be careful not to burn yourself!

The stamp I used for this project is from:

Other supplies used are:
Tissue paper
Black Versafine Pigment Ink Pad
Prismacolor Pigment Markers
UTEE - Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel
Melt Pot
Mold for your pendant
Prepared mold for your pendant
Gold Leaf adhesive
Gold Leaf flakes
Eye pin
Jump ring
Cord or chain to hang your pendant

Step 1: Stamp the butterfly on tissue paper and dry thoroughly. Color with your waterproof markers.

Step 2: Melt the UTEE.

Step 3: Pour a little UTEE into the mold. Place your butterfly inside the mold and add more UTEE to the mold. If you have bubbles just heat with a heat gun. Pop out of the mold when cool.

Step 4: Coat the back with Gold Leaf adhesive and allow to dry until clear but tacky. Stick on the Gold Leaf flakes and leave to dry. When dry gently rub off the excess.

Step 5: Screw in the eye pin and attach a jump ring.
Thread through a cord or chain and you are ready to go.
