Snow Globe Joy ~ Shaker Ornament

Hello! Christmas is almost here! With the hustle and bustle of the season, thank you for taking time to visit the blog.

Today's 3D project used a stamp from the Blank Page Muse Country Vintage Christmas Rubber Art Stamps Sheet. Just to warn you, today's post is photo-filled to show the steps in creating this ornament. So as early as now, I would like to thank you for your time.

The stamp set comes as a sheet of several rubber stamp images.

I cut off the snow globe stamp image that I used for this card.

I used a glue stick to temporarily adhere the rubber stamp to my stamping tool.

I stamped the snow globe on a scrap piece of paper to create a template. A template guides me when I use different elements on my project. It also helps me with placement when it is time to put the elements of the project together.

The template was very useful in the sizing and placement of the gold cardstock. All I need to do is position the gold cardstock over the base of the snow globe, selectively ink the rubber stamp, then stamp the base on the gold cardstock. I used Versamark ink in stamping.

I heat set the embossing powder until it is melted.

I fussy cut the snow globe base after the embossing.

I stamped the snowman using a light dye ink since I will be doing a no line coloring.

I colored the snow man with alcohol markers.

I added details to the coloring with color pencils. I die cut the snowman using a circle die.

I added black enamel accents to the eyes and the buttons.

I ink blended a light blue ink on the background.

Using a glue pen, I added glue to the snow on the backdrop of the snow man. I poured puffy embossing powder to the glue, then heat set it.

For the shaker portion of the snow globe, I die cut a circle frame on light blue cardstock. I used the same circle die I used to cut the snowman and the next size down circle die. I adhered an acetate to the back of this frame.

I used the template as a guide to put the snow globe together adhering the acetate frame to the snow globe base.

I adhered skinny strips of foam tape to the back of the snow globe. I created a well around the acetate.

I poured tiny sequins on the acetate, inside the well.

After I removed the release paper from the foam adhesive, I added liquid glue to the foam to secure the shaker.

I sealed the shaker with the colored snowman die cut.

I stamped the snowman snow globe on a piece of white cardstock. I partially die cut the circle portion of the snow globe with the same circle die I used earlier. I fussy cut the base. This will be the backing of the shaker ornament.

I die cut a tab on gold cardstock to have a place to thread a string to and make this snow globe into an ornament.

I adhered the shaker ornament to the backing. I threaded a blue string through the hole. Now, this snow globe is ready to be hang on the Christmas tree.

I hope you like today's project.

Have a blessed, brilliant and creative day!

Gnome Snowflake Ornament

Hi everyone! It's me Tonya and  as you know this month it was all about ornaments here on the Blank Page Muse Blog! I want to share how I used the gnome from the Starbright Gnome Wintery Tree Let Your Light Shine Stamp Set to create this quick and easy ornament.

Supplies

Watercolor Paper
Various Inks and Watercolors
Watercolor Brush
Scissors
Snowflake Ornament
Diecut Machine
Scrap of Patterned Cardstock
Brenda Walton: Medallion Diecut (retired)
Tim Holtz: Holiday Greens Diecuts
Clear Glitter Glue
White Thread
Paper Poinsettia
Robin's Nest: White Dew Drop
Zip Dry Adhesive
MISTI Stamping Tool
Waterproof Black Ink

I placed the gnome stamp onto the MISTI Stamping Tool, inked with black waterproof ink and stamped onto a piece of watercolor paper.

I watercolored the image with an assortment of inks and watercolors and once dry I carefully fussy cut the gnome out.

I gathered a glitter snowflake ornament, a medallion I had made and was leftover from another project and the gnome image and adhered the medallion and the gnome to the ornament.

I used the Holiday Greens Diecuts and from the scraps of watercolor paper and cut out holly leaves and pine sprigs. I shaped and adhered underneath the gnome image along with loops of white thread and a paper poinsettia from my stash.

I finished by applying clear glitter glue to the stripes on the gnome's outfit and a white dew drop on the cap. And there you have it! If you have any questions about this project please let me know.

Gnome for the Holidays Ornament

I'm honored to be posting as a new member of the Design Team for Blank Page Muse

Check out this cute Gnome ornament using recycled cereal box cardboard!

Non-traditional colors were calling me for this double sided ornament.  I started with the Star Bright Gnome Wintery Tree and Star Stencil set for this fun project!  I stamped the first tree with Distress Evergreen Bough ink.

I stamped the gnome twice, once backwards in order to have mirror images for both sides.  This was accomplished by stamping the image on a rubber gasket from the hardware store. A silicone  mat would work just as well! You need to be ready to cover the image with white cardstock as quickly as possible after stamping. Rub over the cardstock and pick up vertically.  Copics were used to create the color and textures.

I trimmed the first tree and glued onto a piece of cereal box. I am the Queen of recycled cereal boxes!  They are the perfect weight for ornaments and journal covers.  I glued blank white cardstock to the back and trimmed to the shape of the stamped tree. Once this was done, I stamped the second tree on the blank side. My trees needed some snow and ornaments, so I patted Distress Mat Medium on the trees and sprinkled Mike Flakes from Ranger on top. Once dry, I added purple Nuvo Drops as ornaments. (one side at a time due to drying time.  The final step was to add the cute gnome!

I cannot wait to add this cutie to our tree!

I hope you are inspired by this fun holiday post!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Homespun Stamped Penguin Ornament

Greetings and welcome!
Today I am sharing an ornament I made.
As my tree has lots of handmade ornaments from years past, I wanted to create an ornament that had a "homespun" feel! And what better way to do that that with a little bit of canvas!

Supplies needed:
Canvas Square
Archival Ink
Water Color markers
 White Paint Pen
Jute
a Jingle Bell

Start by stamping your penguin from onto your canvas.

Use your water color markers to color your image as desired.

Once finished with your coloring, use a white paint pen to add snow to your image.

Add a jute tie and bow and jingle bell to finish your ornament.

I hope you are inspired to get creative with your stamps.  For more inspiration be sure to follow us at
