Artist Trading Coins

Have you heard of Artist Trading Coins?  It's the new Hot trend. They are just as fun as Artist Trading Cards but in a circle form

Okay I got hooked on these by watching this video here. 

The size is 2 1/2 in for the circle. 

I have a die that I used for my circles. You can free hand cut out circles but not me. 

I can't cut strait so that means I can't cut circles round. That's my truth and I freely admit that.

Start out by cutting 2 circles from 110lb white cardstock. Glue them together with a glue stick. Cut out a few at a time then glue them all at once so they are all drying while you work on the top coin.  )A lot of the videos I watched about the coins is to work on a square then cut out the circle. I didn't do that. I just worked on the circle. Maybe next round I will work in a square then cut out.)

Tree with owl

For the owl in the tree , start with the  top coin of watercolor paper. Use nuance power and make a light watercolor wash. Stamp and color in the tree. Stamp again on scrap and color in the owl and cut out. Add this to coin then attach  the word sticker. Edge coin with ink.

 Soulful doll                 For soulful dolls, use a marker friendly paper for the top coin. Color with alchohol inks if you have them, or watercolors.  Stamp the doll and saying in black.Emboss the doodle bricks with white embossing powder. Edge with blue marker.

Baby dragon         Color circle with watercolors or alcohol inks. Stamp the

random stars          random stars and gold embossed them. Stamp the baby dragon on scrap cardstock and color in and cut out. Adhere to the coin. Accent coin with washi tape and edge with a marker.

Anniversary Card

Hello crafting friends,

  Today we are making an anniversary card using the Owls, Nothing but Owls stamp set.  This stamp set is very versatile and can be used for making many types of cards. It is always nice to think outside the box and use a stamp for an occasion other then the obvious. (In this case an outdoor/nature card would be the obvious.)

Supplies:
  Owls, Nothing but Owls stamp set
  craft paper
  card stock
  paper doily
  embelishments
  gold thread
  alcohol markers
  die for background
  ink
  white embossing powder

To start this card, we cut out the background die four times, two in red and two in black to create the shadow affect. The first card layer measures 6"x6".  The next layer is craft paper with ink splattered on it. Then the die cut layers and the doily are added using some gold thread tucked in between the two layers.  The owl is stamped and cut out for coloring using alcohol markers.  The sentiment was embossed on the fishtail banner and slid under the wings to give the appearance that the owl is holding it up. (The wings were cut to separate them from the body to allow for this.) Lastly, a few gold embellishments were added.

Quick And Easy Valentines Day Card

To all you crafters with not enough time to make all the cards you want or need for Valentine's Day, we have a quick card for you using the stamp set Owls, Nothing but Owls. This is a fun set to color using any color medium you like. 

Supplies:

  Owls, Nothing but Owls stamp set

 Various card stock

 Embellishments

 Die cut tag

Alcohol markers

To start,  stamp the owls of your choice and color in. 

Cut these out. 

Die cut tag and cut card base and layers.

 Next stamp sentiment on banner. 

Finally, assemble your card using foam tape to add dimension.
