Stenciling on Art Journal Page & a Giveaway

 

Hello! Welcome back to the BPM blog. For this month, I will be featuring BPM stencils on my projects. And, there is a GIVEAWAY! I received extra stencils from Kim, BPM's owner. She agreed for me to offer it as a giveaway (Thank you, Kim!) The stencils I will use on my projects for this month will be the giveaway. More instructions at the end of this post.

I used the BPM Stoneworks stencil on my art journal. 

This stencil has intricate parts which has the potential to move when I blend ink with a brush. To prevent this, I sprayed the stencil with a temporary adhesive which makes the back of the stencil tacky without harming the stencil.

I positioned the stencil on my journal. I used a blending brush to apply ink over the stencil.

I blended ink on two succeeding pages of the journal. My stencil is shorter than the journal. I moved the stencil down to continue the pattern.

I fussy cut the first blended journal page, following the curved edges of the stones.

Instead of pitching the cut part of the journal, I blended ink over this to create a middle page.

The photo above shows how I moved the stencil downwards to continue the pattern of the stones. 

I applied glue next to the spine of the journal. 

I adhered the blended cut up page to the adhesive.

I set this aside to give the liquid glue a chance to dry.

This is how the journal page looks when opened on the second page. I added a stonework quotation on the last page but I can write over this stenciled patterns if I want to.
