Dare to Fly...

Hi BPM Stamp Fans!!

Did you join our challenge last month?
If you didn't how about playing along this month? Our themes always allow for any BPM stamps you have in your stash so no excuses and we love to see what you are creating with the stamps!

Who doesn't love a "Winged" theme challenge?
We would love to see your creations for this month's "Things with Wings" Blog Challenge!

Today I'm sharing how I made this mixed media greeting card which you can adapt for any occasion by choosing the appropriate sentiment!

Hope you like it!

Supplies:
Blank Page Muse Stamps: Nature Girl Set designed by Donna Gray
Blank Page Muse Stamp:  Dare to Fly Small Word Stamp
Base Card: any size (14cm square used for this card)
Card Front: any size (13cm square piece used for this card)
Old Book Pages & Gel Medium
Stencil & Texture Paste
Ink sprays or Colour Burst Powders plus optional Charcoal Pencil or Black Water Soluble Crayon
White Card & Black Ink Pad & Colouring Mediums of your choice
Embellishments of your choice
General supplies: scissors, glue, double sided tape, water spritzer, heat gun

Instructions:
Start by preparing your card front. Use the gel medium and torn book pages to cover the card front. Allow to dry. Add a thin layer of white gesso - allow the print to show through. Add some stamped images randomly. TIP: use book pages that relate to your "theme" - I used "bird" pages from an encyclopedia for my background to keep with my "Things with Wings" theme!

Use your fav stencil, spatula and some texture paste to add some dimension to the card front. Once dry add some colour burst powders or ink sprays. Once dry you can add some "shadows" with a black charcoal pencil or dark water soluble crayon and blend around the raised stenciling. Adhere the card front to the base card.

Stamp and colour your chosen focal image rubber stamps and sentiment.

Arrange your stamped images and embellishments on the card front and when happy with the placement adhere.

I love that this background technique is perfect for any occasion and any creation not just a greeting card!

Thanks for joining me today!

Happy Stamping!

Sharon
