Birthday Card with a Gift Card Pocket

 

Hello! Welcome back to the Blank Page Muse Blog. I am wrapping up this month with my last post using the recently released BPM Denim & Lace Digital Printable Kit. If you have missed my first two posts, I linked the posts below:

After I uploaded the digital sheets, I cropped the image and resized it a little over 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I also cropped the buttons, resized it and duplicated it four times. I cut the buttons using a circle die. I also die cut circles from scrap cardstock so I can stack it and create a chipboard like embellishment.

I applied glue on the circle die cuts.

I used a pick up tool to stack the circles on top of each other placing the button die cut on the top. I set this aside to dry with something heavy over it.

I inked the edge of the button with a brown ink to cover the white and colored cores of the button die cuts.

I poked a hole on the buttons using the printed button holes as a guide.

I threaded a blue metallic floss through the button holes. I set this aside while I work on the card panel.

I flicked micah gold watercolor paint on the print out panel. I set this aside to dry.

After the paint has dried, I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the centers of the flowers. This is my choice of adhesive in adhering non-flat items like the buttons. 

I adhered the buttons to the flower centers. I set this aside to dry.

I fussy cut the blue flowers. I cut it on the outline.

I tucked the flowers behind the die cut sentiment.

I was able to tuck in the flowers since some parts of the sentiment die cut did not adhere to the panel. To secure the die cuts, I applied glue to a spatula.

I inserted the spatula with the glue under the loose parts of the sentiment die cut to transfer the glue to the back of the die cut. 

I trimmed the pocket print out using a paper trimmer. 

I used scissors in cutting the corners of the pocket print out.

I scored the pocket print out on the lines included in the design.

I applied glue to the tabs of the pocket print out.

I adhered the gift pocket to the inside flap of the card front.
