Looking For Santa-Lori

Hello, crafty friends! It's Lori and who's ready for Christmas?? I know these sweet little bears are! Maybe they heard something on the roof or maybe they snuck out of bed. Anyway, they are an
xiously anticipating Santa. This card is simple if you enjoy coloring, like I do. Follow along for the easy directions.

I began with a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110lb cardstock. I stamped Bears On Hearth stamp from the Christmas Full Sheet Bears on hearth, Holly, Sentiment stamp set from Blank Page Muse. I used Memento ink because I am going to use alcohol inks to color my image.

Here is my scene after coloring with alcohol inks. I used two to three shades of each color in an image. Shading consistently within a scene gives a realistic effect. There's also tips and tricks to making images look 3-D. I'm not perfect at coloring, but I do enjoy it! I learned a lot about it from classes by Jenn Shurkus.

I wanted to add a frame to my piece. I played with a couple different kinds, but nothing looked "right." Then, I remembered I had a wood frame die in my stash, which I felt would match the whole vibe of my Christmas scene. I cut it from brown paper to try and match the bears.

Final card. I'm happy with how this turned out. I know there aren't many steps, but it did take a while to color. I don't like to categorize my cards into masculine and feminine. If I did, I'd say this card would be appropriate for either, especially with the woodgrain frame leaning toward a "masculine" look. I hope y'all have a Merry Christmas and find time to get crafty!!
