Say a Big Bold Hello with Fern: A Fresh Greeting Card to Brighten Any Day

Say a Big Bold Hello with Fern: A Fresh Greeting Card to Brighten Any Day

Good day, fellow crafters. It's Tamara once again, with a new post where I will be showcasing my latest card created using  Blank Page Muse products!  This month the design team is focusing on floral cards so I hope you enjoy.

There’s something about the color yellow and a burst of bold lettering that feels like sunshine in an envelope—and that’s exactly what this Hello card featuring the Blank Page Muse Fern stamp delivers. This card is all about cheerful energy, bright hues, and making someone smile once they’ve opened the envelope.  Whether you're reconnecting with a friend or just spreading a little joy, this card is a vibrant reminder that sometimes, a simple greeting is all it takes to make someone’s day.

To create this project, you will need the following:

  • Fern Stamp from Blank Page Muse
  • White cardstock 4.25" x 5.5"
  • Black cardstock - sentiment
  • White A2 Card base
  • Medium green ink (Forever Green)
  • Light shade of green (this ink is from my stash and leans towards yellowish green)
  • Ink Blending brush
  • Scissors
  • Mint Tape or similar- (Used for masking the center of the card)
  • Liquid glue
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Die cutting machine
  • Sentiment of choice (I chose simple alphabet dies from my stash)

Process

  • Using the white cardstock and the mint tape, mask the card in the center to divide the panel into roughly thirds
  • Use a little extra mint tape to secure it to your worksurface.  PRO-TIP - Since we are going to be working on the top and bottom thirds then we secure the card only in the middle center to the worksurface to not block our work.
  • Secure the fern stamp to a clear block or equivalent.

  • Using the Forever Green or equivalent ink, ink the fern stamp up and then stamp the images in the upper and lower thirds.  Create as much or as little coverage as you want.
  • It is ok if the stamp does not cover the area completely, just ensure that the ones that are on the cardstock show their tips.
  • Using the light shade of green and the blending brush, blend over the areas you just stamped.
  • Once that is complete use the same ink as the ferns and the ink blending brush to barely darken the edges of the panel.
  • Allow the ink to dry and then remove the mint tape making sure to pull at a 45 degree angle to prevent tearing the panel.

  • Use liquid glue to adhere the panel to the white A2 card base.
  • Die-cut the sentiment from black cardstock three times.  Stack each letter, securing with liquid glue
  • Align the sentiment on the center third of the panel and secure with liquid glue. To get mine straight, I used a carpenter's framing square

The stamps I used can be found by following the links in the materials list, or you can find them with a quick search on www.blankpagemuse.com. Visit our social media sites for more stamping fun!
