Gingerbread Bird House by Michelle Frae Cummings

 Hi Everyone!
     Michelle here with a delightful Gingerbread Bird House that was as fun to make as it is to look at!

The supplies I used were, .....From Sin City Stamps : Steampunked Christmas Peppermint gears,  and Santa from Steampunked Christmas.

 A unpainted wooden birdhouse with the perch removed, paint to prime it as you see here,
red, green and black ink. Assorted dew Drops from The Robins Nest, gold and silver glitter, a red ink pen for Santa's suit, a plastic candy cane, some beads for the feet, and extra Christmas miniatures.
I also used tombo glue, foam tape, e6000 and precision scissors.

 To begin, I stamped the peppermint steampunk stamp with both the red and green ink. I accented the designs with glue and gold glitter. I  trimmed them out and cut in half. 

 I glued the half red peppermints to the roof as shown. It took exactly 14 halves per roof side. Some of those halves were cut into half again for side spots. When both sides were full and secured, I added the white dew drops to fill in the gaps.

 For the Christmas tree's, I used approximately 9 green peppermint quarters.  I began at the bottom and layered all the way to the top.

 For the candy cane perch, I placed the cane inside a kitchen dish towel and snapped in half. The towel prevented any sharp pieces from cutting my hand.

 I added some metallic dew drops to the trees and placed them with foam tape extending them from the front of the house and tombo glue at the base. I adhered the candy cane perch with the e6000.

 A little more of the e6000 helped keep the bead feet in place.

I decorated the front with assorted dew and diamond drops to make the wreath and icicles.
Then I carefully added the miniature Christmas light trim.

 For the Santa, after I stamped him, in black, I colored him with a red pen and added silver glitter. I carefully trimmed him out and used two miniature presents and glue to hold him upright on top of the roof.

I think this is adorable and look forward to showing my Gingerbread Bird House off to Family and friends this holiday season!
