Stamped Fabric Bird

Hello!
Today we are sharing with you another project from our archives
That was created by a Guest Designer: Karen Lackey
Here she created a vintage inspired stamped fabric bird!
Enjoy!

Supplies needed:
  1. Small Steampunk Bird- Rubber Stamp
  2. Tea dyed cotton muslin
  3. Sewing machine
  4. Brown stamping ink
  5. Hot Iron
  6. Polyester fiberfill

Stamp the bird on doubled tea dyed muslin with a brown ink pad.Heat set the design with a hot iron.

Turn the fabric so the right sides are together. Using a small stitch, sew a  ¼" seam around the bird.

Cut around the bird and cut a small slit in the backside.

Turn the piece right side out, pulling the fabric through the slit.  Use a dowel or knitting needle or the end of a paintbrush to push out the points, taking care not to poke through. It helps to have a slim but blunt end on the tool you use.

For a small piece like this, you want to pull out small tufts of the fiberfill and use your tool to help you get it through the slit. Fill the far corners first. Then compress it by pushing with your tool.  Some brands of fiberfill come with a little wooden tool that really helps. If you are using a knitting needle, using the back end can help here. Just don’t stuff it so full that you can’t pull the fabric together at the slit.
When you’re happy with how it looks, stitch the slit together with thread that matches your fabric.

Guest Designer Annie Collins~ Fairy Shadow Box

Hello Crafty Friends - Annie here I am Guest Designing for Blank Page Muse.

I am incredibly honored to be asked by Blank Page Muse to create a project for them.
I created a Fairy Shadow Box.

Let's get started!

I printed the template twice onto kraft cardstock and cut it out.
Stamped and colored the Fairies and flowers.
I added some details with the Sakura Gelly Pen: Sparkle. I die cut some grass twice.

I used the Blank Page Muse: Woodgrain Background Stamp and stamped the trimmed template of the shadow box. I put adhesive on one side of the template where indicated.
I pressed the two sides together.

Next, I used my scoreboard and scored on the indicated lines.
I then crease the edges so that they are crisp. I set it aside.

Then, I used the cloud stencil and Distress ink in tumbled glass to create a background for my shadow box.  I cut the cardstock down to 5"x 5" so that it will fit in the shadow box. I then adhered it to the shadow box.

Next, I adhered the grass onto the background sky panel in the shadow box. I put some adhesive onto the box portion of the box and rolled it up and press it into place. Making sure the grass bottom was completely covered.

Then, I repeated the process on the other sides of the box. Tape, roll and press into place. Take your time here the box can be a bit tricky.

I then adhered two of Blank Page Muse: Small Lilly Flower with Stem in the background along with the Blank Page Muse: Fairy Seated Long Dress

Next, I added the Blank Page Muse: Fairy Short Hair Standing to the outer edge of the box.
Along with the die-cut grass border. I then adhered the last
Blank Page Muse: Small Lilly Flower with Stem to the left outer edge of the box frame. Along with all the Blank Page Muse: Small 6 Petals Flower to the bottom edge of the box frame just overlapping the Blank Page Muse: Fairy Short Hair Standing.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment LOVE onto a stitched banner and adhered it to the top left corner along with one of the Blank Page Muse: Small 6 Petals Flower.

Wonderful Spring Art Tag by Guest Designer Sandhya of Sanju's Creations

Hi friends! I am aback again with another fun project for this month’s challenge, that is not a card. This time I used the Lotus Flower on Stem with Small Dragonfly Stamp to make a mix-media style tag. This would be a fun little addition to gifts that I wrap in my hand stamped kraft gift wrapping paper and is super easy to make!

I started with a tag I die cut from Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then, I stamped my image with Versafine ink and heat embossed with a sparkly clear embossing powder from WOW!, called Singing in the rain. I watercolored the flower and dragon fly as well as the background with Arteza real brush pens and I did a fun wet on wet technique where I let the water do my background blending. I love the effect it created. Then I went around the tag with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxides and then distressed the edges with Black soot Distress Oxide.

I added some black details to my flower using a Sharpie fine liner. Finally I partially inked a scripty stamp from Hero Arts and stamped irregularly over the background. A little pink paper twine tied into a bow completes my tag for today. I hope you liked my tag for today and are inspired to give it a go! Thank you!

Love these Spring colors! Thanks so much Sandhya!

Hello Beautiful~Table Top Decor by Guest Designer Sandhya

Hello friends! I am so excited to be guest designing for the Blank Page Muse and welcome to my first
post for the March Challenge – Anything but cards. One of my friends recently said to me that it would be wonderful to have one of my cards standing on her desk instead of having to put them away in a treasure box. And so, I decided to make it happen!

I used the gorgeous Background Roses 4 x 5 Red Rubber Stamp by Pam Bray to make my little piece of art. I stamped the background on Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock with Versafine ink and heat
embossed over it with Brutus Monroe Alabaster Sparkle embossing powder. Next, I ink blended over it with Distress Oxides – Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple and Seedless Preserves. I applied some Rainbow Deco Foil over die cut words and adhered them to my panel. I trimmed the panel down to 3”X 4.35” and adhered it to a piece of black cardstock trimmed to 4.25”X 5.5” with fun foam. Next, I die cut a frame from white cardstock using Pinkfresh Studios dies and added to around the pink panel.

To make my panel stand, I trimmed a piece out of my Cheerios cereal box to the same size as my
finished black panel. I used cut to slanting lines and scored along the inner edge to fold it out like the
back of a photo frame. I adhered this stand to the back of my panel and called it done! You could add
some pattern paper or gift wrap paper over the cereal box card if you want to make it more fancy. But I liked the Kraft look and decided to leave it that way.

I think this is a great way to upcycle some cereal boxes and use your background stamps to make pretty décor pieces for your desk.

Thank you for stopping by and I would love to hear your thoughts on this. And if you have some cool ideas to share, please join us in this month’s challenge!

This is so wonderful, thanks so much for creating for us! Here are the social places to find more of Sandhya's gorgeous art!

Stamped Fabric Book

Hello!
Today we are sharing with you a project from our archives
That was created by a Guest Designer: Karen Lackey
Here she created a vintage inspired stamped fabric book.
Enjoy!

Supplies needed:
  1. Wing It - Rubber Stamp Set.
  2. Lace place mat
  3. Pink gauze fabric
  4. Muslin fabric and batting
  5. Dark ink pad
  6. Hot iron
  7. Sewing machine
  8. Metallic embroidery floss
  9. Pink seed beads
  10. Pocket watch charm
  11. Vintage trim to tie the book.
Begin by stamping onto the muslin fabric. When the ink is dry, run a hot iron over it to heat set the image.

Pin the stamped muslin onto the batting and sew together using your sewing machine,

Use the metallic thread to embellish the angels wings. Then finish with the seed beads and pocket watch charm.

Sew your lace place mat onto your gauze. Keeping book open, sew the angel piece onto the front of the book, then hand stitch the trim for a closure.
