Hello- An Embossed Card

Hi Blank Page Muse Fans,
When you need a quick card, try matching a rubber stamp image to the design on a scrap of pattern paper.  I stamped the sketched daisy flower onto the same paper and embossed with white powder.

Next,  fussy cut it out and mount the embellishment with 3D foam tape.
Add a large sentiment and bit of organza ribbon to finish it off.

Fairy Floral Canvas by Jenn

Hello everyone! Jenn here today sharing my Fairy Floral canvas I created
with some amazing Blank Page Muse Stamps!!

The challenge theme for May at BPM is embossing and I wanted to continue that theme with my second project this month! This little 5X7 canvas was fun! I used many different products and techniques combined to add texture and interest and still spotlight the adorable fairy stamped image!
The Blank Page Muse Stamps used here are:
All of these are available in the online store by clicking the links.
Please see my full supply list at the bottom of this post.

To create this canvas I first coated it with clear gesso and then added texture paste white crackle in areas. I allowed the crackle paste to dry naturally so it would result in more cracking.
I added a cardboard frame and then added some metal embellishments, glass stones, a molded clay clock, and flowers.
I also added some small beads that were died using Colorique ink.
I alternated between colors in purples and pinks mixed with water on a paintbrush drying in between with a heat tool. I added some gel medium to the frame and on a few of the frame edges and sprinkled it with Lindy's embossing powders. The powder was heat seat with a heat tool.
To complete the project I brushed some white gesso over the flowers, added some ultra fine glitter and mini art stones for texture. I stamped the backgrounds and script stamps using black archival ink. The fairy was stamped onto heavy cardstock in black archival ink and then clear embossed and cut out.
This added the final touch and the main focal point. Some splatters of frosty blue DecoArt acrylic and white gesso complete it!
Here is a closer angled view to show the dimension.

I really enjoy using embossing in many ways on my projects! There are so many techniques!
Thanks so much for viewing my post! I hope you are inspired and heading over to the Blank Page Muse Blog to see the May challenge and enter your creative goodness!! Just click on the picture link to see all the details!

Butterfly Rainbow Card

Hello Girls,

It's my turn to share a project here at the Blank Page Muse.
Sometimes less is more and I think you will agree when you see my rainbow inspired card.  Follow along my step-by-step tutorial for this clean & simple card.

These stamps are available at - www.blankpagemuse.com

Supplies & Links:

Dandelion Wishes & Butterflies Stamp Set

Other Supplies:
  • black ink pad
  • clear mounting block
  • primary color cardstock
  • red card base (5x7")
  • gems
  • clear liquid varnish
Directions:
1. Use black ink to stamp numerous butterflies onto scraps of primary colored cardstock.

2. Stamp an encouraging sentiment about 2/3 the way down a piece of white cardstock. Apply clear embossing powder, tap off the excess back into the jar, and heat set.  Adhere to a red card base leaving a narrow border.

3. Carefully cut out a selection of butterflies. Adhere, a scattering of butterflies diagonally across the card from upper left to lower right.  Only apply adhesive to the body of the butterfly not to the wings.

4.  Apply a thin coat of clear liquid varnish (Glossy Accents) to cover one of the butterflies. Then adhere mini gems to create the body of the butterfly.

TIP: To create a more realistic appearance and added dimension, gently bend the wings of the butterflies upward so they don't lie completely flat.

Baby Animals....

Hi Blank Page Muse Fans!
Are you enjoying this month's "embossing" theme?
So many fabulous projects from the DT to inspire you to get creating and join our monthly challenge!

Today I am sharing some "dry embossed" cards using tamps from the super cute "Baby Animals" sets available at the Blank Page Muse Store!

Supplies:
Blank Page Muse Stamp Sets: Baby Animals 1 & Baby Animals 2
Blank Page Muse Stamp: Happy Birthday - several available in store - (used here from the Steampunk Circus Set)
Embossing Folders
Watercolour Paper
Brushos Pigment Powders or similar
Base cards
Scrap white card for stamping
Scraps of muslin cloth
Tools: embossing machine, water spritzer, scissors, paper trimmer, edge distresser
General supplies: glue, double sided tape, mounting tape, colouring mediums (Copics used here), black ink pad
Instructions:
Start by gathering your items for embossing so the embossed pages have time to dry whilst you are stamping and colouring.

Open your embossing folder and sprinkle several colours of Brushos on the front flap.

Spritz with water. Don't you just love the effect??!!

Place your watercolour paper onto the spritzed side and close the folder ready for winding through your embossing machine.

You will get a lovely result from embossing with the water and ink through the machine. Depending on how much water you spritzed you will probably be able to achieve another embossing or if you think you need to add a little more colour sprinkle some more Brusho over the folder and emboss again. A great way to emboss scraps of paper for small projects like ATC's etc. You can use tags as well for a great background effect.

Below are a few different designs. You can get some really interesting colour combos if you refrain from cleaning the folder in between colour changes! Once dry you can then cut these pieces to size for your creation.

Now to stamp the cuties from the Baby Animal Sets using your favourite black ink pad. I have used stamps from both sets for my cards. Great for cards for new borns and kids! and you will notice I've used the "Koala" seeing as I am an "Aussie" - perfect LOL!

Colour the stamped images with your favourite colouring medium in co-ordinating colours. I have used Copic Markers to colour these little babies. Then fussy cut your stamped images ready to use on your cards.

Using the Black Ink stamp the "Happy Birthday" (or sentiment of your choice) onto white card and cut out.

Now to assemble all of the elements to complete the cards! Trim the dry embossed card to slightly smaller than your card front and distress the edges.

Edge the "Happy Birthday" sentiments with co-ordinating coloured markers.
Use double sided tape or glue to attach the embossed card to your card front along with a scrap of muslin cloth. Add tape to the sentiment. Add mounting tape pieces to your Baby Animal. Arrange and adhere to the card front.

Just love how these turned out!!
Hope you have enjoyed my post today! Make sure you have some fun embossing and join this month's challenge!
Remember we always share our creations in the Facebook Group along with updates, new releases and fun!!
Happy stamping with "Blank Page Muse"!!!
